Sustainable Photoredox Catalysis l Colorado State University Chemistry Innovation Shines Bright

Production of chemicals, both intentional and by-products, has huge impacts on the environment, health, and all aspects of modern life.
The Colorado State University Department of Chemistry is well known for its focus on sustainable chemistry research and is now leading the way forward to sustainable chemical production with the introduction of the SuPRCat initiative.
The Center for Sustainable Photoredox Catalysis, or SuPRCaT, focuses on replacing the use of precious metals and extreme heat - which pump carbon into the atmosphere - with earth-abundant or organic compounds and light as a catalyst to produce critical chemicals used in everyday life.
