Tess in-dept review.. (I'm dissapointed)

- in a game that has been stale with the meta since the month following the release of the game, and the fact that ults across the board with very few exception has zero value for damage dealers.. Tess is the perfect character in a poorly balanced game..

Look, I don't want to be mean or discourage you from covering the game, but your take is completely wrong and looking at your gameplay and some of your other videos in the suggestions I can see why you'd think that.
At the cost of being a nerd emoji redditor, here's a wall of text:
Tess buffs every character, including supports, and is a pull as good as Mauxir 5* with her weapon just by herself.
When you look at power in this game you're primarily looking to do your Neural Sim bosses quicker, so it's not strictly about rushing Ults with your DPS or about raw DPS either. It's usually about having a team that plays to the a boss' specific mechanics. (Ex. 5* Chen and Lyfe are great against Hela, but Haru is terrible. Reverse situation for Katya and Will.)
Her obvious first use is with 5* Yao, replacing 4* Acacia in her team, but she's great with 5* Chenxing as well, and she opens up Ult combo teams, which simply isn't possible without her since U-energy is team shared.
She's also great with Wild Hunt, since her ult is so strong, applying freeze which increases her own damage by a ton.
She's obviously incredible with Hush Fritia if you can get her to M3 (which you should be farming her to M2 anyway) and single handedly allows Hush to kill both Hela bosses in 20s.
Out of all the characters right now, Hush Fritia is by far the one that benefits from Tess the most.
Putting Tess aside, you don't understand the characters you're using. I know it sounds patronizing, but cmon dude.
You shoot, dodge, E and then shoot with 5* Yao when the entire point of that character is that the E lets you animation skip the recovery after every shot, allowing you a very high rate of fire. You're also building U-energy by shooting with 5* Mauxir which ??? SMGs have terrible U-energy regen and you literally have Tess on the team who is by default stacked with it.
Like you literally have no idea what you're talking about and you're lamenting about the meta being stale, it blows my mind how confident you are about it.
You said 5* Haru's single target damage is "mid", which is ridiculous, she does as much as my 5* Chen. "Haru's ult stance doesn't do much more damage than her pistol" is a nonsensical sentence. Right before watching this I hit a 68k ult slash, my Haru is M2T1 with Skill Haste-ATK on the event set, Tess and 5* Acacia on the team. Have you seen some of the Haru runs with 4* Mauxir? She 20s cycles some bosses.
You said 5* Chen's ultimate is useless because "enemies move away" (skill issue, unironically).
You didn't even consider using Tess' U-energy for support character ults, like 5* Mauxir who has a very lengthy slow and considerable damage. I'll put links in a follow up comment to show how strong slows are in Neural Sim.
You didn't even mention Tess' own personal damage during her ult, which is pretty considerable if you can trigger all of her shots. Around 100k for a fully built Tess without accounting for buffs, at zero cost, automatically on top of your main DPS damage.

You also said some weird stuff like "She's not on field and promotes quickswap" , which is just confusing.
She appears on field for all of her ult like Mauxir, and appears facing the camera for her support skill. And you don't need to quickswap at all, you can activate her ult from your carry, it's literally on your screen, Alt+1-2-3, so what do you mean by quickswap?
I also don't understand the concept of them being greedy by releasing a character that in your view nobody needs. That doesn't follow.
It really feels like you're scraping the bottom for reasons to be negative. Coverage of this game has been overly negative for no reason all across the board, they do so many things right compared to their competitors but every thumbnail is all doom. When Genshin, SR, PGR and Nikke do worse stuff nobody bats an eye.

Yeah it's crazy. Some youtubers made a stink about the Yao swimsuit skin having a "$300 price tag" when it's on a reward track for general spending, which worked retroactively despite being released later.
You can throw $5000 at Genshin and get nothing at all as a bonus, but nobody complains about that and PGR , HI3 and others have the exact same thing and that wasn't a problem.
I've tried putting those links in, but it gets automodded no matter what I do. Some of those videos are on a channel called "ShamelessEnd", some others are on bilibili and the titles are in chinese so I can't help much there.

The game is already super easy, the only thing that disappointed me is that she doesn't DPS, but at the same time she flashes her ass making you want to see her all the time, but you can't use her because she can't do DPS.
This is silly. I won't pull her and I won't buy her skin. She's just useless. They should have made it a party game, or made it so that each character could be DPS and Support

The video is talking about the meta, which right now is mostly Neural Sim clear times, and in that regard she's a good pull.
If you're looking for a DPS there's a high chance the next limited character is a shotgun DPS, probably Siris since the story is hyping her up right now.
@@_Ikelos They better stop making these useless supports. Characters are released rarely and therefore each of them should be an independent combat unit and main DPS. There is nothing fun or interesting about supports
Theoretically she could work with Fritia Hush due to her ULT CD only 10s. And she also eat ULT charges like breakfast.

Just wanted to add.. I got Tess but I don't recommend rushing to level her up. Her signature gun is not worth it, unless you're hardcore Yao 5* main. Her free event weapon is more than enough. Her support skill (30% dmg boost all elements with neuronics) is the most flexible part of her kit but the cooldown is atrocious af💀
She would be way more fun if her kit was more on field with her rng cards. It feels like they put her in the wrong direction midway and just rolled with it. Her deiwos is all about her being off field for ult energy recharge and her ult forces a character change for for christs sake💀 What a waste of a sick ass skill..
Bright side, she is top tier for lobby and waifu. She'll have the most action being on the main menu 100%.. even though I'll have no idea what she is saying majority of the time..🫤😅
Your kinda wrong. She does neglible damage off field. So if you wanna make up for that you need her sig weapon to get a 20% damage boost for your main dps.

im only pulling for her so i can finally use fritia hush as a dps without coping anymore, tess gives hush a whopping 25 second ult. and haru can finally regain u-energy using her E because of tess m3
did it ever came to ur mind that in the future there will be chars that rely on ult damge other than yao^^?
I noticed that you didn't mention how much Tess buffs Fritia 5*, who loves to spam her Ultimate. Fritia 5* is the "Ultimate" themed character. Tess is probably a better match with Fritia 5* than Yao 5* :P
Also the speedrunning and math guys put fritia hush in S-tier because of her and tess m3. So fritia hush won this patch

We just had mauxir who really only is good with shotgun/snipers, aka fenny or yao. Now we have yet another niche support who essentially just buffs Yao again. Yeah you can argue the support skill buffs anyone but whats the point in having the ult if youre not getting value from it? Why pull this character?
Plus let’s be honest, Yao doesn’t need damage buffs. Since the beginning of the game, she could clear the entire game. you don’t need this character unless youre trying to get the top 1% neural sim. And the 10 people going for that isn’t enough to keep the game alive

Yet people like you take it so seriously that it hurts the player base. You should be glad a character is a good support to a niche group once in a while tbh
Thank you for your testing. Yao really not letting go of the Meta.. I really cant say if its intentional or not. But I can agree she is the favourit character in the game amungst players (Meta helps her). Yet shes the only standard character I done have. or not pulled, as I used my two selector boxes to get 2 Fenny copies.. My Fenny is 12 shards away from M5. Considering I didnt get to play the game the day before yesturday cause of work, should be 10.
Guess I can hold off on Tes, while doing the trail I liked her bolt action rifle, but shes not reallly on field unless playing her in multiplayer

Well, she works very well with hush in my team..
I use ch4 with odd alleycat for heals and ult recovery and am just fine. I'll get this for the waifu although I don't care for that sorta stuff
this is the typical underrated character
While what you say may be true... Tess is still hella future proof. I prefer having her now even tho she only really fits the shoe with 1 or 2 characters, cuz next patch we might get more use case for Tess.

@@angmar87 Yes the game is really easy right now. Yes you dont really need her right now. Its just that if someone wants to further optimize their Yao/ Fritia and maybe Haru then Tess obviously helps, thats all.
I agree with your skin point. I wouldve prefered a character with a skin like that to be an ON field character. 👍
@@ametalhead777 It would make sense to have her on the battlefield if you just raise her damage numbers. She fires with a sniper rifle and does less damage than Haru with a pistol. This is just stupid. What would be bad if it dealt 90% of Yao's damage? She would still be weaker than her, but not useless. She is a limited character after all and needs to be strong.
Can't you just farm her shards tho?

We have two big reasons why she's a must pull and you know what are those reasons.
have yao alot of dupes from rolls but i dont have her weapon so she doesnt rly feel fun to play it kinda sucks since the game is centered around her
As much as I like Tess’s design and kit, is she really worth being considered a 5* character? I sorta wish they released a new 5* character alongside with a new 4* character but then again the game doesn’t provide enough content to justify that.
Appreciate the feedback! Seasun Games keeps making bad decisions... guess I'll just try to enjoy this game while it lasts. Game management is trash.

Why your chenxing doing so bad in hela? If you have her logi and summer event logis for acacia, you should have like 5000-6000dmg per shot.
I don't even have good stat on my chenxing(only one 5.5% atk boost) your time sucks, putting tess in the team will make your clear it less than 60s. Ult animations help you escapes many attacks from hela, and do more dmg overall instead of hiding behind a shield like a L.
Oh, your tess is stuck in Satre, but still get sub 30k point?? You are doing something wrong my man She should help you get higher 30k score easily since you will get to use ult in no time, I regret didn't put her for Yao, but still cleared it at 79s.
nope, fan fav are Fenny bcos how f2p friendly she is and how easy it is to use her, not even that hard to aim like sniper user

Just a m0ron talking don't mind him. She is clearly futureproof it's not a hard concept to understand. Dps can be replaced, set up characters are irreplaceable. Watch them drop a main dps in the future that realizes on their ult and then complain they don't have tess
She's already work well in neuron boss for me, ults on many character are dmg boost overall, it pauses the timing, and helps you evade bullet hell during ult, I still can't find any other team combination that could beat the time record I did with her in team(Chen, Tess, Acacia at 52s)
She already works well with many current characters(basically any character that shoots) but the dude is here complaining about her not being teir0 meta support level.
