  • Supersonic fighter jets have always held a special allure due to their incredible speed and raw power. These high-performance machines are a sight to behold in action, relying on their speed for survival in the ever-evolving world of military technology. After World War II, a fierce manufacturing race between the United States and Russia ensued to produce the world's best warplanes, with a particular focus on fighter jets.

MiG-31 cannot stand the YF-12..? As a fighter it's hardly even worth a mention - the whole project was cancelled before they went into production, they never saw duty... 3 were built for testing, and the only one that wasn't accidentally destroyed was eventually put in a museum in 1979 - same year the production of MiG-31 started, replacing the MiG-25 - which is the only "real" fighter jet faster than MiG-31 I think... MiG-25's were tracked on radar during Persian Gulf War, reaching even Mach 3.2 - even if this would damage it's engines, it was still doable if needed.

X-15The North American X-15 is a hypersonic rocket-powered aircraft operated by the United States Air Force and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as part of the X-plane series of experimental aircraft. The X-15 set speed and altitude records in the 1960s, crossing the edge of outer space and returning with valuable data used in aircraft and spacecraft design. The X-15's highest speed, 4,520 miles per hour (7,274 km/h; 2,021 m/s),[1] was achieved on 3 October 1967,[2] when William J. Knight flew at Mach 6.7 at an altitude of 102,100 feet (31,120 m), or 19.34 miles. This set the official world record for the highest speed ever recorded by a crewed, powered aircraft, which remains unbroken.[3][4]

{Dark Phoenix}. I like your idea a lot better than mine. I was going with the (Blacker bird). But the way this world cries over anything it can. My way would cause people to say it is a "racial slur". So, (Dark Phoenix) it will be (in my heart). good thinks cheerio.

I’m a 70 yo Veteran and I first learned about the SR71 aircraft in 1974. I had above TopSecret Clearance at that time and was amazed that the USAF had such an advanced aircraft. When the SR71 became public I had been out of service for a long time and told a few people that this plane had been flying around since the mid 1970’s and they didn’t believe me. I guess I don’t blame them but it’s true.

For Prestige Russia has Always bragged about their equipment the HE did Mention the YF 10 thats the fighter version of the SR71 and they both go faster than they were ever published because it was classified. PLease note that currently Russia is importing bullits from Iran because they ran out in the Ukraine. What does that tell you about Russia performance capabilities as well as selling rides to civilians to pay for fuel.
