@@LeonardoPachecoBorgeshe never blamed them for his decision, he just got mad because they kept saying “go for the bingo” and when he tied everyone was like “oh shouldn’t have gone for the bingo” “sore loser” shit like that…
Chat was being annoying, hypocritical and stupid (so typical chat) I would’ve been mad at them too, any reasonable person would be.

btw, on Bushy's considerations for tiebreakers (TL;DR at the bottom): there are 4 people who could make it to the top 3 cut (the other four, including bri after this game, no longer have any path to top 3). Those four who are eligible are Catalystz, Bushy, Puppery, and NPT. Catalystz has 5 wins with 1 match left to play (vs Puppery), Puppery has 4 wins with 2 matches left to play (vs Catalystz and NPT), and NPT has 3 wins with 2 matches left to play (vs Puppery and Bri). Bushy, with this game, has played all of his matches, ending with 4 wins and a tie. But let's look at it from his perspective while playing this game, so he was at 4 wins with 1 match left to play. For this analysis, we will assume that the possibilities are that he either wins with majority or risks a tie in order to potentially win by bingo against bri.
As far as I understand, for tiebreakers they will first look at the head to head scores of the players (e.g. if it's a two-way tie, whichever player won the match that the two played against each other wins the tiebreaker), and only if the head to head scores are equal (i.e. a three-way tie where each person has beaten one person and lost to the other) will they look at number of bingos. If the number of bingos is equal too, they will look at number of squares completed. Granted, it's possible I misunderstood the tiebreakers and all of this analysis is moot, but this is the best I've been able to figure out as tiebreaker rules aren't listed on the site. For the top 3 cut, first place gets to play 1 fewer match while 2nd and 3rd, as far as I can tell, are effectively the same.
To analyze the relevant possibilities for the final scores, the easiest way is to look at Puppery's games, since she plays against both of the other players bushy is competing against, and the only other factor is whether or not NPT beats bri. For Puppery's match outcomes, there are four scenarios: a) she wins both, b) she loses to NPT and beats catalystz, c) she loses to catalystz and beats NPT, or d) she loses both.
    a) Puppery is in first place, Bushy and Cata are 2nd and 3rd. OUTCOME: doesn't matter
    c) Cata is in first place, Bushy and Puppery are 2nd and 3rd. OUTCOME: doesn't matter
    d) Cata is in first place, Bushy and NPT are 2nd and 3rd. OUTCOME: doesn't matter
    B) If NPT wins against bri and Bushy does as well, there is a four-way tie at 5 wins. Bushy and Puppery have each beaten two of the other players whereas Cata and NPT have each beaten only one, and Bushy has beaten Puppery, so Bushy claims the 1st place spot regardless of bingos (which Puppery does beat him in). This is the one scenario where it's possible I'm misunderstanding the tiebreaker rules. If Bushy ties against bri instead, though, he doesn't even make it into top 3. OUTCOME: needs to win vs bri and bingos don't matter if I'm understanding the rules correctly.
So there's only one scenario where the difference between going for bingo or going for majority against bri matters, and in that case if I'm understanding correctly it's clear cut that it's better to secure a safe win via majority. Bushy just messed up his calculations in the moment and went for the less optimal play because of the red herring of "this is something I would only do if it's a tournament game and I'm worried about my tiebreakers". It's a perfectly reasonable thing to have happen, because that's way too many factors to consider while actively in a game, but as far as I can tell it was objectively the wrong play even if it was likely to succeed (which I agree that it was).
EDIT: I did miss one possibility upon further reflection: in scenario B if NPT loses to bri. With a tie or a majority win bushy still makes it into top 3, and with a bingo win, as long as Puppery doesn't get a bingo against Cata, they tie on number of bingos and it goes to number of squares where bushy wins and gets 1st seed. So it basically comes down to whether you think bri or NPT is more likely to win their match, and I think NPT is the clear favorite in that matchup (although bri is capable of an upset as she proved here) as well as that scenario also needing an additional (admittedly likely) caveat of Puppery not winning via bingo. So the odds are still in favor of a majority win being better, but there is a scenario where winning via bingo is relevant. Still, hindsight is 20/20 and he had to do all of these calculations in his head in realtime during a live match.
Summary: it is very unlikely to matter at all, but it's more likely for the majority win to be the better option than risking a tie to try for a bingo win, on top of the fact that the stakes in the case of the majority win being relevant (not in top 3 with a tie but first with a win) are bigger than the stakes in the case where a bingo is relevant (2nd-3rd with tie or majority win, 1st with bingo win).

Really good match! Fia's champs has stumped many star players, I think if you had stuck with it and not pivoted off, you would have gotten the bingo before time ran out. But that's a hard call to make in the moment. And good on Bri for staying in the match and pulling out a tie. that's really hard to do after an opening like that and being down several squares. It's one of the most interesting matches of the season!

People can say what you want, but this match went the most entertaining way. Yeah, you could've ignored chat and gone for majority, but what's the fun in life if ain't big-dicking it? I'm proud of you for taking the chance and as always it came down to seconds.
Also, Bri is a sweet person. It was fate that she caught a break after that incident.

For Fia’s champs he should have been doing more R1s instead of charged R2s. Or at the very least R1 follow ups after the initial R2. I get why he was doing it because that’s how you fight most other bosses but it just doesn’t work for player character fights. They are almost always gonna dodge out of any R2 follow up that isn’t a true combo

She miscount the bosses and marked it after 4 bosses. Then she had it marked for a minute or so before unmarking, making the square void for her

The decision to make bingo using a square with riders looked like crap from the start. Bushy could have easily won by collecting other squares, but he got greedy and wanted the bingo line. Plus it was kind of BM towards the opponent. Аnd now he risks not making the playoffs.

    • @jaceng1776
      @jaceng1776 Před 11 měsíci +2

It wasn't BM whatsoever. A win was equivalent to a tie as far as placing goes, so what mattered was playing to get the best outcome for a tie breaker. The best tie breaker he would have is a bingo, so he had to play for a bingo to give himself the best chance at being top 3. It isnt BM, it's just the way that tie breakers are for the tournament.
Also, he doesnt always go for majority. Literally 2 hours before this game he played for a bingo line.
