Pocahontas's real name was Matoaka; her nickname was Pocahontas meaning "playful one" and she was born in 1596. She received extra protection and training being an important tribe member (the chief's daughter). The Powhatan people welcomed the English and wanted to trade with them. Pocahontas didn't save John Smith the way the movie OR John Smith's diaries say: she found him during a fight with a Powhatan hunting party and Smith was captured by Pocahontas's father's younger brother. Interestingly enough, it wasn't exactly "kidnapping" as it was initiating him, and the rest of the English, into the Powhatan nation. Pocahontas wasn't even at the ceremony due to her young age. When the relationship between the English and Powhatan weakened, Smith was deeply reprimanded for his nation's actions. Pocahontas wouldn't have been able to warn him of any danger regarding his life because of the high security surrounding her. She was allowed to travel to visit Jamestown with her guards. And she actually did marry Kocoum. In 1613, at the age of 14-15, she was kidnapped and held in Jamestown for ransom. During the time she learned the English language, culture, and customs. She was "taken advantage of" in her state of uncertainty which then bore her a child named Thomas. She was married to John Wolfe. The entire time, her father had decided, for his daughter's safety, he wouldn't fight ransom, thus enforcing the English's words to Pocahontas that her father didn't love her. In 1616 she died, the speculation being poison. Pretty depressing, just like all true Disney Princess stories.

I mean disney got popular quick it's crazy to think they got mad when they heard they drew Disney characters on a wall of a daycare like that just shows they love Disney ain't nothin' wrong with that. Yeah idk man Disney back then was like one of those things for example like Justin bieber, you see his concerts,he's super popular, seems nice in general, even maybe compliments his fans in videos,but when a fan comes to him in person to talk or for a pic he gets mad or is racist or that video where he took pictures with these 2 fan girls and all the while a little midget man was like "PLSSS ME TOO I LOVE YOU JUSTIN" and he COMPLETELY ignored him cause of his size. It was sickening. Idk from what I see from these old Disney stories from back in the day like the daycare art and women not able to animate that's how I see Disney,good on outside but when dig deep there are not so good secrets.
