Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Love ur blue hair. So pretty. He hit his head on a camera on 1st day of shooting. Went to hospital and got stitches and came back to film. Accident prone Joon as u know. Nice song too. Like this folkie vibe. Old school but not. This one makes us think. All those rooms buildings for me is the maze of life and also his mind. Army on twt saw connections to other member's solo work's and that is so cool. That orange is a Suga reference. =0p The director of this is a genius. Others think this is RM's way of showing us how he overcame his mental block. He found his inspiration again. Sweet. Hugs. Love u! #YouAreEnough --NY USA 2019 Army💟

Namjoon saying "you don't have to be, you don't have to be the anything you see; try not to be, try not to be the someone in the sea" for all of us who struggle with fitting in with the societal standards, the constant pressure to prove something, to be something, to do something. He tells us to be us for us, everything, everywhere, all at once. To be authentic to the countless selves we have within us even the imperfect ones.

12:53 I saw some ARMY's noticing the time is 11 : 20... 1120 is called the angel number apparently, signifying new beginnings/ some type of enlightenment/ spiritual awakening!

I could see references to the others members' solo projects throughout the video:
Jin: the running , the planets, the little girl pushing him ( The Astronaut MV)
Yoongi: the " baby" with the tangerine ( Yoongi's favorite fruit) .
J Hope : The maze at the end ( More MV)
Jimin: partying with friends ( Like Crazy MV)
V : Seeming bored when his friends were seeming happy ( Friends MV)
Jk: Staring the girl ( Standing Next to You MV).
Could be just things running through my head but.... That's what I' ve seen .

Yes, this song is a pre-release. He actually performed this song at Suga's final concert in Seoul for his tour last year. There will actually be 5 total music videos for his album. The cut is actually real. The Spotify version of this song is over 6 minutes long. If I'm not wrong it's the longest song BTS or a member of BTS has ever done.

Yeah, he hit his face on the camera in the first take of the first scene - and had to get 5 stitches. :P

My theory is that these are all different events that occurred to him in various timelines of his life: he was a child to his parents, a friend in a group out partying, a boyfriend in a turbulent relationship, and then a husband with a beautiful family. Throughout, he felt like he never fit perfectly into any of these roles. In his journey of self-discovery, he encounters another human, Kim Minha, who is as lost as he is in the maze of societal roles and expectations. However, after they have a conversation on the couch, he realizes that it's not just him; this is the reality for most people, and life is never going to feel perfect. Cut to him being transported to these scenarios again, but now he is happy because knowing he is not alone in the journey makes him appreciate life and its imperfections more. In the end, it feels almost like an enlightenment where he is freed from the shackles of pursuing a perfect life and now understands the true meaning of living. You see him walking through the forbidden door with Kim Minha, both now happy and content.

He actually gave us a surprise sneak peek of this song at Yoongi's concert when he got up on stage, at the time he said it was untitled and im so happy he fully released it armys were chanting his name as he bopped along to the beat on stage.

Watching this alongside you, it reminds me of the midnight library (a book that Namjoon has said he loves) that dives into how every decision we make can change the course of our life.

Personally I think it's about being more than what you thought you could be.
At first he was 'trapped' in a certain set of rooms - one where he was a friend, one as a family man, one as a child and one as a boyfriend (so basically all the traditional roles that adults are supposed to fulfill) - but he wasn't happy about any of the situation he found there (maybe bc he felt like he didn't belong), until he met that other woman who seemed to be running around the rooms as well (my theory is that that's actually him/part of him). I think that woman represents the acceptance of "I can be those things IF I choose to - ", which is why we then see him back in all those scenarios we saw him in before, but this time he's happy bc he actual chose to be that and feels like that is the right thing for him. And then him walking out the door of that certain set of rooms he was confined to (bc remember, that door was locked before, he was trapped in the rooms and scenarios that we saw) is supposed to say "but I don't HAVE to be any of that, if I don't want to - there is so much more I could be" (that 'so much more' is represented by the endless amount of rooms we see in the end, a life full of possibilities without having to be what everyone/society expects you to be, if you don't want that).

I really like your theory and it's a more advanced thoughtful version of what I initially thought. My mind didn't go to time skipping like others but rather trying different rolls in life or showing up in someone else's life (kinda made me think of Quantum leap just showing up in someone else's body lol) but moving on to the next room not feeling like you belong or are content to be there or comfortable. There are probably so many ways to interpret this which feels very RM. I mean we may find out all these MV's are gonna be connected like one long movie or fit together like puzzle pieces or they might be completely self contained the possibilities are endless.

I'll read all the theories everyone has now. My mind is tired of thinking about what's happening. I'm just here for the vibes at this point Namjoon being a girl dad first is sweet. It just reminds me how he bought baby shoes because he found it cute. Yes someone mentioned we got a spoiler of this song when yoongi brought him out at the dday concert he performed this for us.
There is also a book called midnight library namjoon read during in the soop I believe which I think sort of inspired this mv. This is the summary of it. The novel follows a 35-year-old British woman unhappy in her dead-end life who is given the opportunity to experience lives she might have had if she had made different choices.

Namjoon’s vulnerability is so moving. We witness his soulful rumination on the various twists and turns that his life could/would/should have made. And at the end his guide, which turns out to be him, opens the ‘door’ freeing him.

Bookish Theories (CZcams channel) has a brilliant explanation video for this song/MV. She does meticulous research and her explanation for this video almost made me cry it was so deep yet relatable. But basically she’s saying that these are all different versions of himself that could be and yet he doesn’t feel comfortable in any of them and keeps trying to leave through the door but when he does he just finds another life that could be his but doesn’t quite fit until he sees a girl that looks as out of place as he is and he follows her. Eventually they both go out the door and wander through endless realities looking for the one that fits them. There was a lot more in the explanation video. As you would expect from RM every little detail has meaning or is a metaphor for something. Highly recommend to anybody to watch it.

I read someone mentioning that "She" could be his Anima..? Makes sense because he finally is Happy after he sits and talks with "her" on the couch... AND she is looking for him, almost as if to tell him it's okay to find/discover ALL the sides of himself .....?! Thoughts?
    Carl Jung:
described the animus as the unconscious masculine side of a woman, and the anima as the unconscious feminine side of a man, each transcending the personal psyche.
