This is very likely THE best video I have found on stain layering. THANK YOU!
Very nice of you to say. Thank you
This is exactly the look i'm going for. Than k you
amazing! going to try this on my stairs!
Nice job, Jason! Thanks for showing this.
Thanks!
I love this. I'm trying to mimic grey ceramic tiles and this seems perfect.
I know this is old lol but how did it turn out?
Hey Thanks for the video Sincerely. In our new home we have grey walls white ceiling and white cabinets. Also dark grey vinyl floors. Is it possible to stain a huge butcher block to only have grey tones?
Nice
Hello....I love this look and have been trying to figure out how to get this effect on plywood so thank you! I'm looking at trying to do a floor for our bonus room with this approach. Cutting plywood into 8"-10" strips and finishing in this way.....have you ever done larger projects using this layering method and do you think application would need to be any different? Planning to put polyurethane on top. Any input you have would be great...thanks!
You can absolutely do this technique on pretty much anything even plastic. You shouldn't have any problems. On longer pieces I would just blend and try to work with the grain
Do you wait for one stain to dry before layering the next stain on top of do you do it once you wipe the excess stain off?
How do you get the white color wood in the middle of the picture on this video
Can you use it on wood lamanet floors?
Hello, i just made a barn door. I'm still not too sure how i would like to stain my door. I'm looking more on the white stain . Is this stain easy to clean from dirt?
easiest one i seen. How many bottles you think I would need for a long dresser?
Jason, can you use general finishes satin top coat with General Finishes Java gel stain?
I haven't used there products before but as long as they are similar, it should work fine
Would this technique work on a painted white dresser? I'm new to this. Thanks for any guidance ☺
It sure will!
@@DoingitWithjason even if the paint is sealed? Sorry meant to say that.
My door turned out too blue grey how do I make it more grey, grey and fix it?
I just had this happen and I'm trying to figure out which stain shade I would layer over it to get rid of the blue tint look. Did you ever figure it out?
@@anniepie31 no we kept it as is. It sort of fit the color palette we had but didn't want to ruin it further.
This looks horrible! but the idea is great.
Clickbait thumbnail huh!
I did it with the Stodoys plans.
Nice
