- Happy new year everyone! I hope this year is filled with joy, love, success and great health. I'm so happy to finally get my hands on this Sargent book, I already feel myself wanting all of his books 😂 I had a great time doing this master copy and certainly learned a lot. I forgot to mention that this was done in water mixable oils! I hope you enjoy this video :) Let me know down in the comments what your goals are for the new year. Art related or not 🤗 See you all very soon x

Beautiful work and it's a pleasure to watch your process.
oh thank you ☺️ it's a pleasure having you here
Hello again Ana,
Wishing you a very happy new year 2022.
Sargent is undoubtedly the best portrait artist of his time. There are numerous videos referencing his style of pallette and methodological approach to portraiture. It was lovely to watch you tackle his portrait and to see that even with the best approach to copying, mistakes can and do occur in the making of art. It was a pleasure to watch how you managed this issue. With the right eye and how you persevered to get it just right.
Thank you for sharing this video💖
Sargent really is that best! Thank you for taking the time out to write out this message 💓
you're crushing it dude!
doing my best! 😅
One day an LC Perry exhibit blew into my hometown, and I was never quite the same afterwards. I instantly became the kind of fan of Perry's that you seem to be of Sargent's. I think she and Sargent did that friend portrait exchange thing you mentioned. I love the concept of an instructional master copy. I don't think they were calling them that when I was doing them, but they're a lot of fun. Eyes are tough, even in digital, at least for me. Your finished pic of Sargent's friend came out really well. Your Patreon artists' club sounds like fun.
Her artwork is wonderful 🤩 Eyes are definitely really hard! Thank you for sharing! The Patreon community is small right now but slowly growing 💓
Your eye for detail is so amazing. Keep it up! 🥰
Thank you!! ☺️
Incrível Simplesmente Espetacular
Thank you for sharing your work and making such lovely videos.
Thank you, Alexandra!! I really appreciate it 💕
I am so intimidated by portraits and I really appreciate you sharing your struggles with the eye. Its one of my goals to jump into portraits and figures this year, and I'm really not sure where you start, but I think studies are a good idea.. I still think the study came out very well, and would've appreciated a side by side comparing the original to yours!
such a good idea!!! I really should have done that. thank you for the suggestion :) I'll keep that in mind for next time. portraits are definitely intimidating. you just have to go for it and know that some will just be way off 😅 it's part of the learning process. you'll get better the more you practice. good luck! 🌟
Keke, I am in a very similar place where I’ve really only painted landscapes my whole life (which I love) but I think I’ve gotten stuck in my comfort zone with those style of paintings. I feel extremely intimidated by portraits, but my New Years resolution is to take more risks with my art and practice learning. I know that may sound silly, but as a perfectionist I have such a hard time giving myself grace when learning something new. I hope you can do the same this year and find the joy in trying something new! 💖☺️
Wow, such a calming and motivating video!
I'm glad you think so 💕😁
Hi Ana, this is a great video. Thanks for sharing. I was curious about you palette with cover, so I ordered both the palette and the glass. Thought to let you know. Your videos are so inspiring. Great job! Blessings and take care.
