Genau so einen, Bj.1961 noch mit 900 ccm- Motor hatten meine Eltern, ein herrliches Auto, der lief wie eine Hanne, leider verkauft für einen Skoda, kein Vergleich, absolut was ganz anderes und nach einigen hundert Kilometern hat es mein Vater schon bereut, seinen Warti verkauft zu haben! Danach ist man immer schlauer! Einige Wochen später hatten wir wieder einen Wartburg, diesmal mit 1000ccm- Motor, der lief bei weitem nicht so gut wie der mit dem 900er Motor, tja man steckt nicht drin, Hauptsache wieder Wartburg!! Grüße an alle Wartburg Fans!! 👍🙋

Lembrar o que se pouco lembra há mais de 90 anos.Automovel é feito para transportar pessoas e não para querer estar em um lugar se ainda não ligou o carro. Velocidade não é prioridade pois mata também no trânsito.
strange engine positioning i see...where the fan is in the centre inside the engine compartment inside of close to the front ?! Done for packaging convenience for are there any technical benefits to such layout i have to wonder ?
I agree. It's front wheel drive and the engine/transmission position is fixed by the front wheel position. Putting the radiator over the transmission reduced the car's overall length.

The 312 badge on the rear doesn't indicate that it's a 312 at all. When real Wartburg 312 was released Polish prospect for it was titled "Wartburg 312 with new chassis" because the name 312 was already used in this market. So the author of the film is right- it's an export Wartburg 311-1000 that was sold new in Poland under the name "Wartburg 312" and with a 312 badge

@francois girard I owned a few DKW F12 cars. Easy engine to work on.. setting the tri-points was sometimes difficult.
