The new voice isn't bad at all but I love the old one, I feel like Nonaka puts more emotion towards Kyo

The new voice actor made a pretty good job. But Mr. Nonaka's screams and grunts were awesome. Nobody will surpass that.
Some lines I really like from the new voice actor but the old one yelled way better.

La voz de Kyo original es suprema es unica, ese es el problema de que no se puede imitar como la de Iori, que si bien no es igual pero se le acerca.
Tienes toda la razón, la voz nueva no se le acerca ni un poco a la antigua, nonaka le ponía mucho más emoción y hacía sentir muy COOL al personaje

After 2 decades of the same voice actor, I can't get used to a different one, I'm always going to imagine Masahiro Nonaka's voice when I see Kyo Kusanagi.

While I'm used to Nonaka's voice for the character, Maeno's take on Kyo already grew on me while playing the KOF XIV demo.

Kusanagi is not Masahiro Nonaka but Mitsuo Iwata. This is why K9999 and Kusanagi have a special intro. Nozomu Sasaki (K9999) dub Tetsuo and Mitsuo Iwata (Kusanagi) dub Kaneda.

Unless there's some sort of thing where Nonaka saying that, I doubt it. Benimaru kept his voice actor and he's been there since the beginning.

Tomoaki!! I like his voice. He sounds really good in Akatsuki no Yona (Hak) and other animes too.
I love the voices of the KOF guys, especially those of Kyo, Iori and Terry, these Japanese really know how to put feeling into it, now they made me want to do a Dubstep with Kyo's voice 😤😤🔥🔥

it's the same VA: Kunihiko Yasui. I try and is not worth it for a video. Very little differences from the new dub.

Agreed with most comments, the original one is gonna be always the best... but the new dude does a pretty good job.
old ones are too iconic to be forgotten and the best ones hope they will be back on kof 15.
Kyo 94-XIII is Winner
as a kyo fan, the original voice actor brought this character to life however! i will say the new voice actor grew on me and he brings a more youthful voice to kyo and with time I'm certain he will adjust to the role :)
XV Kyo's design now fits Maeno's voice. While indeed, Nonaka brought life to Kyo all these years, it's time to move on my men.

I agree. Haven't played any of the KOF games myself but I'm hoping to try into the franchise without playing right from the beginning which is jarring. As for my favorite KOF character, I might go with Kyo Kusanagi or Iori Yagami.
When I first heard Kyo in XIV, I didn't even know that it wasn't Nonaka that was voice him. That's how good the new guy is. SNK did a good job finding Kyo a new voice actor in Maeno. It's also a smart thing for them because back in the 90's, the voice actors did songs for their characters, and Maeno has a background in singing for many characters in DIFFERENT voices: czcams.com/video/_AsEnl5TTNU/video.html

Ukero... kono burowa!! That one line itself from 99 could shatter everything to pieces. But thank god they both sound identical. It's rare to find a replacement VA which brilliantly mimics the original.

Nonaka has grown along side his character he voices. Just like Daniel Radcliffe grew along side harry potter

It has been over 2 decades maybe he;s just tired or wants to give someone else a chance, I dunno.
Because it NEEDs to be now. Like Chu E. said, it has been over 2 decades already, someone need to take over his role sooner or later and with the way KOF refreshing itself(2D->3D, more voice dialogue, upcoming anime, etc...) for a new beginning, which will last for like another 20 years, SNK need to do it now.

@@yea-pn9fr I will not say that the old VAs are SNK staff. Rather, a good number of them are from a company called TTB (Osaka tv talent bureau co.,ltd.) which was disbanded on 31 March 2018.
Regarding the big name portion, it seems to me that SNK dipped into the Idol field with an increasing number of VAs from the Idolmaster series. Even Samurai Spirits (2019) is not exempt from this rule.

Tomoaki es un actor reciente tambien tiene voz de heroe pero con perfil coprotagonista es muy bueno y la saga es de otro personaje.Masahiro es un genio le cambia la voz a Kyo de adolescente a adulto y queda perfecto igual👏👏
I kinda hated the new voice at first but slowly got used to it. His old voice actor is miles better though.
I do miss Nonaka's portrayal of the character quite a bit. Maeno is probably the best and closest thing I've heard to it, but there's just nothing like the OG. Something about those rekka lines and the way he delivers his super lines can't be recreated, I think. Maeno's voice does some interesting things at higher pitches though, I'll give him that.

Because Masahiro… _was getting old and slowly losing his voice,_ he was also planning to retire as well and… KOF XI was proof of him losing it. And in KOF XII/XIII, he gone all out with even giving out unique EX move voice lines, something only a few characters got, even in Maximum Impact, there was sign of it
That is why Tomoaki was the new VA of Kyo, he always loved to voice him one day but… _man, either the direction is ass or he is literally worse than fan sprite animators,_ examples being KOF Kai’s episode 14. Infact, it might BE because of the voice direction which makes it worse as seen in KOF XV and Ash Crimson or Ralf Jones because _he’s the same voice actor for XIII_
Why? Why remove the echo effect? That's another reason to perform those HDM!

有名声優を起用して格ゲーに興味を持ってもらうって敷居高いと思うんだけど、どうなんだろう？
比較的新しいゲームならともかくＫＯＦはかなりシリーズの長い作品だしね。

It's just like he has a some or something more it include :o. Their voice seems to be look like similar at one another. However, in Iori's Voice Comparison, the original one is the best, primary and seem to be more of a wild mannerisms compared to the new one, but I do hope that a new Voice actor will go more places as him though. Just showing some respect :). I can't cite much longer, but I can only say: "Try your best, voice actors and actresses. Try your best everyone ^_^."

That is the equivalent of listening to an idol from Idolmaster SideM (KOF XIV Rock Howard shares the same voice with Sakuraba Kaoru from Idolmaster SideM).

The odd part is Basara gets a VA change in Samurai Spirits (2019). The new VA is Murai Yuuji.
