An interesting take on language as descriptive vs prescriptive. In other words, the meaning of words is based more on how people use it and not what others inject in its intended meaning. Confusion arises mostly out of disagreement in intended meaning vs interpreted meaning. Some words are hard to be confused about in the meaning like physical objects, but abstract concepts are much easier to disagree about. This is why when people write papers, they have to clearly define the terms they use to avoid misunderstanding of intended remarks as much as possible.

The Board Of Education is messed up here. If no kid knew "Whomps" was a banned word, then you shouldn't be allowed to punish them for saying it. Second, the Board of Education basically tricked TJ into thinking he could say it without trouble just so they could expel him for it.

I don't believe in bad words. Humans invent words and then humans can believe that a word is bad. If the reason is because words someones feelings. There are thousands or millions of ways to verbally hurt someones feelings.
you can say "you are utterly grotesque with a ridiculous facial complexion and horrid intelligence" which hurts someones feelings without the use of curse words
or you can say "you are fucking awesome" and please someone
and the curse words back then weren't the same as today

It was even better in the Norwegian dub. His voice actor (who also voiced Mr. White funnily enough) spoke with a slightly deep and husky voice whenever he spoke slang, and then his voice became very high-pitched and melodic when he spoke normally

Yup, the series has had worldwide appeal. I was only 2 years old when the series debuted, but I finally got to watch it when I was in 4th grade, fittingly enough, and it quickly became one of my favorites
Since we're on the topic of Recess and translations, the Norwegian dub for "Yope from Norway" had the titular character being given a different dialect than the "standard Norwegian" everyone else spoke, whereas the Swedish dub managed to bring an actual Norwegian actor to speak Swedish with a Norwegian accent

I don't know so much about any shows, and I don’t think they have an English dub anyway
We Norwegians learn English in school since 3rd grade or something, and we're heavily exposed to English due to things like video games, academic texts, CZcams videos, movies and TV-shows, and either travels abroad or visits from tourists. It also helps to know English in many professions sine Norway is often dependent on cooperation with other countries
