    Thanks for doing this video, Patrick! I just ordered an H Plus and didn't realize that the ST16S was that much different in the menus, etc. I think I also see that the display you are showing in the field demo is actually brighter compared to the ST16. It was featured as one of the advantages over the ST16. I hope that you continue with more videos and am going to review this one several times before I launch my H Plus.

    This is a very well done series. You really do nice video work. I had no idea about the "Cruise" mode. Turns out there are only one or to others writing/videoing about it. It looks to be a really useful feature on an already well loaded platform. Since the "less than obvious " seems to be in your wheelhouse I thought I might share something I found by accident that looks to be a real time saver in the "records keeping department" Are you aware of the amount of telemetry data that gets recorded in the ST16 and I'm guessing the ST16s as well. It records everything! Not just GPS stuff , but start and end times, battery voltage and current and a tone of other stuff, all every second of every flight. I'm working with my brother who is a software developer to write an App to extract some of this gold. One last item, elevate your quality and polish one notch, drop the word "Guys". For new Typhoon H Plus pilots, If you following the video from 8:00s, you can see that the aircraft will fly straight down to land at almost the same spot as the Home Point because the pilot did not fly the aircraft away from the Home Point. So if your aircraft is over the tree or over water, the aircraft will landed into it. Therefore, before using the landing icon on the ST16s, make sure you "Position the TYPHOON H PLUS above the area where you would like to land", then slide the landing icon. Otherwise your aircraft will landed on top of the tree or water or wherever location.

    Hi Patrick. Thanks again for these great videos on the H and H Plus. I was wondering if you might get around to testing the RealSense out some time? Also I would like to see the actual flight time for the H Plus. And do you know if the H Plus can be bound to more than one controller and if the Wizard Wand would work with it?
    Also, do you know where to get batteries for the Typhoon H Plus and a battery adaptor lead to charge the battery on a third party charger for cycling, testing cells and storage? The links you provide in the description are only for the Typhoon H battery.

I have a Blade Chroma and have been delaying an upgrade and I was thinking DJI but I really like the Chroma (made by Yuneec) and the H+ seems to fit the bill. Two quick questions 1. Max range? 2. Your thoughts?

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  Před 3 lety

      At the time I made this video, Yuneec was still 'in the game' so to speak. Since then they have steadily been less so. I still have my Plus and it is still a very good drone with excellent video capabilities even among drones that are being released now.
      However, the support for the Yuneec line (especially in the US) is virtually non-existent.
      I have since added a Mavic 2 Pro and it is a superb drone and support is very good, it's portability makes it a solid contender in the class of the H Plus.
      Ultimately I would say to anyone in the market: ask themselves what features or capabilities are at the top of their list and make a decision based upon the current market.

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  Před 4 lety

      Well thank you Serge, for watching and glad you like the Copperdawg Tray. As to my thoughts on the H3 - Myself, like a lot of others are very keen on seeing how the H3 plays out. Yuneec has decided that it will be a limited release (unlike the Plus), much like the 520. Yuneec has already released it in Europe and here in the states but there are very few pilots that have them so the information is only dripping out. Personally I am curious as to the quality of the imagery from ION L1 as this is the only real difference to the H Plus outside of a few interface changes with the software that will allow the user to 'dial in' the controls much like we had on the 480. In addition, I understand that the trim pad cruise control has be added to the H3 so that is good.
      But from an operational point and from a cost point, the H3 will have to have a substantial gain in the camera to warrant the nearly 800 dollar (US) price hike over the H Plus 1,899.00 vs 2,699.00.
      The fact remains that the same 1" 20 megapixel sensor is being used on the H3 that is used in the Plus and to get better imagery will be difficult. In the current market (2000.00 price point) the 1" sensor is still the benchmark across many brands such as the DJI M2P, P4P and the fourth coming Autel EVO 2 6K as well as the Yuneec 520 and Typhoon H Plus. I am still very satisfied with the H Plus for what it is and the imagery that it produces and to me, the H3 is a bit redundant for my purposes but may have something to offer those coming from a 480.

      @@buelle109 Thanks for the reply Patrick.
      But why a limited edition of the H3 and H520? Is this the end of Yuneec sion why such marketing metality?
      Want it stayed on the market or not, I plan to buy a new drone soon, and I don't want to go to DJI, because I hate being forced to use my cell phone as a backup device.
      The yuneec remote control seems so proffesional.
      when did you think is this the end of Yuneec?

    Excellent video sir. Getting ready to pull the trigger on the H with real sense. I'm somewhat confused about the differences between the "H", the "H with Intel real sense" and the "H Plus". My budget only allows for the "H with real sense". Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  Před 5 lety +1

      Okay, the Original Typhoon H comes with the CG03+ Camera which has a 1/3 inch sensor and maximum image size of 12 mega pixels. This model has been around for a couple of years and is a very solid system. A lot of times you will hear me reference it as the '480', this is the distance between motors in mm. The 480 comes in three different bundles and the "pro" version has Real Sense which is an additional layer of obstacle avoidance
      The Typhoon H Plus is a new model that was just released in July here in the states. While similar in looks, is a totally different aircraft; it uses a different flight control system, different batteries among other differences and, it also carries the C23 camera which has a 1 inch sensor and a maximum size of 20 mega pixels. It also has larger more powerful motors that necessitate bigger propellers and thus has a motor distance of 520 mm and thus shares the same size and features as Yuneec Professional Typhoon H 520. Currently in the US, the Plus comes in just one bundle and that is also the "Pro" version with RealSense. Yuneec is slated to offer the Plus in a standard version without the RS, but so far only a few select dealers have these models
      Personally, I have a 480 and a Plus. I never wanted the RS so I bought my first Typhoon H without it. When the Plus came out I had no choice so it does have RS but I have never used it. The obstacle avoidance of these systems are in their infancy and provide some level of avoidance but they are not fool proof and can be caught in instances where they will not work 100%. My advice if you get the RS on either model - research it, find out what it can do and what it can't do. For instance it can't detect obstacles above or behind or to the sides.
      Hope this helps. Good Luck.

    Hello
    I have a question on the height restrictions. Yuneec implies on their site that the max height is limited to 400 feet. In your video under settings it seems there is a slider where max height can be set beyond the 400 foot limit. Understand the current FAA restrictions for hobby flights just curious if the height restriction cab be changed.

    • @buelle109
      @buelle109  Před 5 lety +1

      The simple answer is; yes, you do have the ability to set max height to 1640 feet from the take-off point. Keep in mind these aircraft use simple barometers to determine height and do not have any understanding of distance from the ground. For instance if you were standing at the foot of a steep mountain and begin a climb in which the aircraft stays within 100 feet of the mountain's surface you could climb 1640 feet from the takeoff point and still be within 100 feet of the 'ground' and therefore within legal limits. And of course when flying around man made structures such as buildings or tall towers, as long as you are within 400 feet of that structure you can legally fly to a max altitude of 400 feet above that structure. For these reasons The Plus allows the extra altitude. It goes without saying; outside of these types of scenarios, flying above 400 feet is ill advised and illegal at least here in the US.
