*@Mrfixit* At least Boyd got the same from Clapton, dumping her for an even more fuckable fake blonde. It seemed George couldn't care less , became even more best friends with Clapton because he released him from this dolled up airhead , which he himself was too decent to walk away from ......and went for a partner with an actual brain, which he (becoming more introspective) longed for . Bonus on top of this ...Boyd couldn't sue him for palimony.....
That's not to say George was this holy mystic , his second wife Olivia admitted they had an open marriage and allowed him to have his countless liasons ......

Can you tell me, when he said that? Because in 1974, in his dark cocaine years, when Pattie left him, he sometimes sang live: "Something in the way she moved, I have to find another lover - I did it." and so on...

George lived along the lane from us in Liverpool when they first got famous ,He lived with his parents,my sister who’s 5 years older than me she was wearing a lovely coat her hair done ,l was about 13 still in school uniform,We had been to the shop for some eggs ,we decided to go along to his house to see if we could see him,She made me knock on the door she stood at the end of the path,l knocked his brother came out,l asked if George was in ,he went in and George came to the door,l asked for his autograph,he gave it all the while looking at my sister,She was thrilled and nearly dropped the eggs,We went back later on he was packing his gear in his car ,We all stood looking at him he must of been so self conscious ,When he was 21 l went to his house his Mother was lovely she let us in to see all his birthday presents from all around the world .Teddy bears scarves slippers cards etc,My Mum walked past their house one day ,his father was outside gardening ,he started talking to her ,my Mum told him l had an American penfriend who was mad on the Beatles ,he gave her a plant and some dirt in a bag to send to her,By the time l sent it it was a dead stick but my penfriend was thrilled haha

I understand from an interview of James Taylor by Mark Maron that James and Peter Gordon had met in London. Peter took James to audition for Paul and George in pursuit of a contract with the Apple label. (James recalled that he and Peter walked into the Abbey Rd studio, and Peter called out, “Are there any Beatles here?” Fortunately, there were). One of James’ audition numbers was his “Something “ that began with the same line as George’s later version. The former like titled songs made James’ Apple label album. Maron asked Taylor what he thought of George’s borrowing the line, to which he replied that it was fine as lines and instrumentation got borrowed frequently. He remained appropriately appreciative.

+srunequester66 actually George said the song was inspired by Ray Charles on several occasions over the years in different interviews.. and Olivia knew that George had written several songs for her. Also when George did the 'Dark Horse' tour in 1974 he made the lyrics about Olivia (there are several bootlegs of this version here on youtube). having written all this Pattie must have been part of the inspiration for Something
