I canât even tell you how long I have been looking for a simple description of how to select in a random order a spot on a PowerPoint to reveal text. This was the best. Thanks!
I have a use case for this while at work. In fact, I need it today! I am an English teacher and today I am beginning a new unit that focuses on Daily Routines! I do believe this is the video I've diligently searched for for the past 40 minutes. Let's have a go!!!
You are my favorite. I LOVE PowerPoint and get asked often to design presentation materials. You are my number one "go-to" subject matter expert. Thank you for the wonderful way you teach.
Brilliant, used it in a presentation on phishing, revealing different types of phishing techniques as the viewers guessed them out loud. Thank you.
Awesome trick, Leila! Thanks!
The Selection pane is used so frequently that it's worth mentioning ALT + F10 would save you some clicks. đ
Your channel is really my go to whenever I am faced with challenges doing my daily tasks at work. Thank you so much!
I love your videos! Thx to you I improved my presentations significantly and I feel I can really get my audience focused. Thanks a million!
She is doing a great job!!! How interesting is to follow her examples. Very talented teacher đ
100% agree. Love the way she explains complex things in a simple way
These animations are awesome! I didn't know about the trigger option and the motion painter.
Leila, you are an excellent instructor! Thank you!
Thank you, Diana!
Thank you Leila! I have created quite a few PPT presentations over the years, but not regularly enough to ever get really good at it and thus had not been introduced to the trigger animation before until I needed it and discovered your video. Your explanation was great.....clear and concise with excellent examples. I had no trouble implementing your steps. Thank you.
You have just saved me hours with the grouping and animation painter tricks !
This is great! Extremely helpful when you only want content to appear at a certain time :)
Exactly! Thanks for watching!
@@LeilaGharani leila, what is the easiest way to change the title of all powerpoint slides, without having to change each of them.
I've been using spreadsheets since Visicalc - the great granddaddy of ALL spreadsheets!
And I learned some new tricks today!
I'd never spotted the animation painter before.
LOL.
Thanks Leila!
Hi Leila! In a class I was working in with Special Needs students, I made a quiz program using PowerPoint much in the same way you've done here with your function quiz. It was a cooking class and the object of the quiz was to be able to distinguish between a fruit or a vegetable. Each slide had a picture of a fruit or a vegetable. I also added vocal narration to each slide. When the slide came up, I (as the narrator) would ask "Is this a fruit or a vegetable?" On each slide was also a clickable button, one each for "yes" and "No". The student chosen to answer the question would give their response and I, as the presenter, would click on the chosen button. I programmed the buttons on each slide to correspond to the question. If the picture was a fruit and the student chose Yes it's a fruit, I (as the voice of the button) would say "You are correct!", otherwise, if the "No" button was chosen, the response would be "No, please try again!". I am happy to say, it kept the students engaged and interested. I also made one for kitchen tools and appliances. In that case, the quiz was multiple choice with three choices, and the buttons were similarly programmed as the previous quiz. I have seen ways I could really improve it with what I have learned from your tutorials! Thank You so much!!
That's such a great use! Thanks for sharing!
yup i got it . the absolute best click to reveal animation i've ever seen literally followed each and every step you've did in this video leila . thanks for this incredible video .......
Glad you liked it!
Great and helpful video, Leila!
I am working on my presentation to make a gameshow for children on mountainous region where i am volunteering. I need to create a presentation that reveals one text whenever the children give one right answer, and they have to answer right 10 times to reveal the whole sentence.
Your video helped me make it. Thank you alot! Keep going. I learned a lot from the video.
Thanks Leila. Talented as usualđ.
I highly recommend to all ppt users to install the free add-in Power user. It has indispensable relevant features that I'm sure you will use at your daily work.

Thank you so much đ This is so fast to add to a presentation,, and can really grab attention during the MANY calls and webinars I host. I can think of various games to be played with this. I will definitely be using this for a webinar I will be hosting in two weeks.
Just learning about Ctrl+g shortcut to group objects was already worth watching the video for! As always, thank you Leila for your simple yet detailed tips video. A true MS Office MVP đ
You're very welcome!
Awesome, thanks! Solved my need to make family feud with colleagues over teams!

Awesome sauce!
Very professional and so engaging, which is key for the audience and memory. Leaving them with a great experience like this, will help great recall days later.
Love your channel, keep up the great work đč
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you so much đ I use this feature during my ESL lessons đ
Thank you Leila. Reallyl helpful video. Just a thought, that since you're already so helpfully demonstrating the CTRL-Drag feature to copy, you might have included as you went through (on the second example of the quiz, where you had multiple crosses) the holding of both CTRL and SHIFT when dragging in order to keep things aligned.
bravo Leila I love your videos and way of presenting things you are awesome thanks
V useful. Will use quizzing participants. Thanks
Thank you so much! the video helped me a lot!! I'm using it for a "top 5 quiz game" with my students.
I always find what I'm searching for in MS Office in yr videos, many thanks.
Trigger Trick is a Kool Trick. LOLđ This Feature is Something to think about when Designing a Presentation. đđ
This is a great video and explanation. Thank you!
Your are talented in how explaining the topics, thanks a lot
Hi Leila, great video again.
Just 2 suggestions: The grouping of text and shape is redundant. You can just write directly into the shape. That way when you use the animation pane for doing the triggers, you don't have to name the shapes. The included texts will appear in the trigger options. Saves a little work.
Love your channel. :-)
True, I usually do that because I'm more flexible in their placement and could add potentially more than one text box to a shape. But otherwise, writing the text into the shape is faster. Thanks for the feedback!
Was going to say the same
@@LeilaGharani Keeping text and shape separate allows more manipulation of text placement and text size. Few weeks ago I talked about the use of triggers, I used it to cover a "secret" picture (see here czcams.com/video/ZaMd1WE_pFs/video.html ) and also used triggers to make Noughts and Crosses teaching game ( czcams.com/video/yKxx2dkgT0A/video.html ) Keep up the good work Leila! your videos are so helpful. A big thank you !
As a beginner in PowerPoint, I actually found this very helpful.
â@@LeilaGharanihello ma'am, can we make pdf file from this animation
About the Quiz I found it very useful tutorial.
An idea to improve it could be using a form to submit the quiz in powerpoint and then collect the response from students in an excel for further evaluation.
This was perfect. Thank you!
Very cool and useful effect. Please add following info on video to save some people frustration: Animation didn't work for me. After some research found the fix. In Slide Show tab, click 'Set Up Slide Show', uncheck 'Show without animation'. Was working with someone's else's created file.
Great lesson! I am going to use this for our church for a game night family feud game!!
Thank you so much for the video, it was super helpful!
I love to watch this woman for reasons more than one. Firstly , she is beautiful, secondly , she has an interesting and lovely broadcast quality voice, thirdly, she is a skillful, talented and interesting teacher. Great job. I have learnt so much from you. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Leila. Thank you for this video. I subscribe in your channel. You did a great help to my daughters performance task in school.
Thanks, Leila, for this great content.
As always⊠your video is mind blowing.
yes, this trigger tick is useful!!! i can apply this in my managment presentation
Many thanx. Very helpfull!
Thanks Leila, it's fantastic, now I know a little bit moređž
You're welcome đ
Thank you for these great and impactful videos. Have you considered trying CTRL + SHIFT + MOUSECLICK&DRAG when copying objects instead of CTRL + MOUSECLICK&DRAG that you use? The former aligns with copied objects with the original one, saving time to reposition them. Thank you once for these great videos.
This video saved my midterm project.
amazzing thanks it powerups my PowerPoint presentation
Very useful, thank you so much. I could add more interesting surprises to my class discussion using the PowerPoint
Glad to hear it was helpful!
Hello Leila, thank you for another cool tip and Happy Holidays to you and those close to you! Would you have any advice if I wanted to make a slide with WordArt where the letters appear letter by letter where it looks like a laser is drawing the letters as they're revealed and the laser sound effect plays? I'm trying to create a logo I'll export as a .mp4 that I'll use an an introduction on a video I'm making. I have the text the way I want I just need the line that will act as the laser. I have a feeling I'll need to insert a line and do a custom path animation, but is there a way to tune the reveal speed so the laser looks fast enough to read without being bored, but not too fast that there aren't any sync problems with the audio of the laser sound effect? I'm sorry for the novel!
Leila, again very good and very informative video â€ïž
I love your explanations
thanks mam for your valuable video. their is lots of video about this topic but the way you explain is amazing ,
thanks again
Great for animating bar graphs and letting your audience choose the comparisons they want to see -- this year's sales vs last year's. All this year's sales vs U.S. sales only, etc.
Great use for it!
Hi Leila, many thanks for this video, is there a way to use the same effect, but instead of revealing all the options one by one, only showing one selected option at a time (so when you click on one option, all the other options disappear)? I would really appreciate any tips how to do that.
Thank u so much for sharing.....
So useful
do you know how longgggg I was waiting for someone to show me this?! Thanks Lee
Glad I could help!
This is a great tip for teaching scenarios
Leila this is really awesome! You have helped me really do my presentation really good. My big bosses specifically like the "sonar" function too (which I learnt from you) and now, everyone in our department has that function. Just thought of letting you know.
Small thing but it has big impact â€ïž
You're so welcome!
What is sonar function? Which video?
I wish I would have found your channel earlier. Your videos are amazing. Thank you :)
This is awesome! Thank youđ
Leila, Can you achieve the same effect using Mouseover to replace the click such that it shows the âXâ or â rather than mouse clicking?
Awesome video!! keep going!!!
Thank You Leila, Your video was great, but can i add animation on trigger click in different slide?
Click magic⊠very nice tips.. awesome Leila⊠đ great

Great đ. Back in the day we used overhead transparencyâs to show different layers of building plans eg walls , electrical , plumbing , computer networks - could this technique be used ? To achieve the same result
Nice work Leila!
