    A video you should do, Is a belt change without the clutch tool. Like for instance. If the tool hole is stripped :)

    FYI..I had a 2008 800 mxz x short track with 600 miles a few years ago and I put a Ultimax xs belt on it and got 200 miles out of it before it fell apart. Belt deflection, tolerance and alignment were perfect. I believe it couldn't handle the heat the Tra clutches produce especially with so much back shift. Went and got the updated harder OEM ski doo belt and zero problems after that. I have used the Ultimax 2 belt on drag sleds and it is a great belt if u can find it. Great sled show and love to watch. Thanks!

    Kealey still has his secondary fan blocker on? Lol seen a video on here of REV mods and a guy said to remove the plate on the secondary clutch to uncover the "fan wings" for air circulation ?& also reduce weight. Or is there a reason for that metal plate?!

      Sounds like his clutches arent aligned properly - excessive heat kills belts.

    what about adjusting the belt?

    • @pseudocoder78
      @pseudocoder78 Před 9 lety

      I wondered that too but you can see he tests the tension by feel (2:05), probably good enough. Also I get the feeling these guys probably blow a lot of belts so the clutches are probably already set up for basically a brand new belt.

      @travisbell1884 Před 9 lety

      pseudocoder78 you go by the bottom grooves of the belt flush with your secondary clutch for maximum performance

      Yeah I'm aware that's the current conventional wisdom, but those grooves weren't always there and old school guys tend to test deflection by feeling how tight the belt is between the primary and secondary. I agree he did skip explaining that part (either method) even though he did check it.
