  • Before you can certify a fiber link using the Fluke Networks CertiFiber™ Pro you must first set reference. This zeros out the optical signal strength between the main and remote units. This video was recorded during on of our Fluke Networks Certified Cable Test Technician courses. In it I go through the process of setting up the fibers, setting reference, checking the Test Reference Cords, and preparing to run a test.

Can you do a video for Single Mode setup / testing?

At about 9:37 when I'm reviewing the reference settings I say loss. This is incorrect, this is optical signal strength. Anytime you see dBm (decibel meters) it refers to optical signal strength. Anytime you see dB (decibels) this refers to loss. I try to get everything perfect, but miss the mark sometimes.
