  • Kuruvadweep is an island community of 950 acres in the tributary of the Kabini River . Kurua Island is located in a tributary of Kabani, a river flowing eastwards from Kerala. It is an uninhabited island . A protected area, a variety of birds, medicinal plants and herbs grow here. This island is in Wayanad district of Kerala . This area is a group of about 150 small islands. Therefore, access to the main part of Kurua Island requires a boat or other facilities during flood events. All the islands are accessible on foot through rocky creeks.
    The nearest town, Mananthavadi, is 17 km from Kuruvadweep.
    Kozhikode town is 115 km from here.
    It is 58 km from Sultan Bathery .
    On the road from Mananthavadi to Mysore , one kilometer after Kattikulam , you will see the signpost for Kurua Island. Kuruvadweep is 5 kms from here turn right.
