- Playing along to this unknown gem featured on the '94 Stolen Moments: Red Hot + Cool...
Herbie Hancock on piano, Wah Wah Watson on guitar, Harvey Mason on drums, Luis Conte on percussions, David Gamson on keyboards and programmation and Meshell on vocals and bass.
David Gamson, who worked with Scritti Politti, Miles Davis, Chaka Khan, Sheila E, George Benson, Luther Vandross and Roger Troutman, was involved in Plantation Lullabies and Peace Beyond Passion's production.
Meshell's blend of Funk,Soul, Hip Hop & Jazz is definitely unique and smoking.
Besides,she can do anything; make sure you listen to Bitter or The Spirit Music Jamia if you don't know yet... - Hudba
The breakout groove at 4mins is insane
Unknown gem is right. This is a classic groove with an all-star lineup. One of my favorites!!!
Nailed it! 🙌🏻 Do Bittersweet aswell.
Really nice stuff - your musical taste is excellent but as it's so close to mine I couldn't say anything else (really liked the Vinnie Colaiuta,cover btw) . I'm also a jazz fusion bass player and I love Meshell's stuff so keep up the good work. I've always said that one day I'll get the time to post something myself on You Tube so thanks for motivating me to stop talking and start doing!
Fuck yeah brother. You nailed it. Good for you to do such a rare song.

Actually the breakdown at the end of the video is kind of a lesson ;)
True bro but you quick and spot on even when you slow it down bro. I got the first part. Can you send me the notes for each section of the instruction on a Bass chart or tab I can definitely contribute a donation for your time bro. Thanks for this smooth post. Your timing is spot on with those notes bro. robertrobbins232@yahoo.com
Thomastik Infeld flatwounds but this bass sounds heavenly no matter the brand (same with roundwounds ;)
What kind of bass is that?
@allset2rock1 Thomastik Infeld
Man, can you tell which strings do you use please? they sound heavenly...
Great job ! So funky ! I just covert Hancock´s solo on the track. If you like, check it out on my channel. Keep up the good work !
The only thing that needs to be "interesting" is whether or not the line grooves...It does and she does and he is...Thanx
