Your cover is beautiful. I love blues and greens together also. Earlier today I was weaving in the white packing material you showed us how to do. I picked blues and greens, and had a lot of fun. Thank for all you show us how to do.

I love the idea of using the bubble wrap envelope. I get thos all of the time and have thought about doing that bet have never done so. I will now. Fun and pretty little journal. 😊

I also love the crinkle sound. Just a suggestion but if you wanted to hide the white edges. Ink around it like you would paper. I’m excited for this new challenge. I just love your whimsical style.
Thanks, Eva - I actually did try putting some ink on the edges, but it didn’t like the plastic envelope. I’ve decided to embrace it, since it’s a junk journal anyway, as well as a reminder of what’s inside the fabric pieces. 😁
Maybe use India ink or alcohol markers.
I too love the crinkle of the envelope. I have a collection of items I want to journal, but so far, I don't really know where to start so I am hoping your series will inspire me. Thank you for sharing. 😊

Ooh - this looks fun! I don't have a machine yet, so I may give hand sewing a shot. If it doesn't work out, I can always go back to my food packaging. 😁
My tip: if the front/back panels of the box have the dimensions you want but the sides are too wide, find the side with the seam (if you can't see it, run a hand inside the box) and cut it off along with the top and bottom box flaps. On the remaining short side (spine), mark the middle and cut in half, then stack the spine halves and glue them together. You get a thinner journal base with a reinforced spine, and then you can cover it as you normally would.
I’m sure that some simple hand stitching will look amazing! Thanks for the great tip! 😊
@@CatHand You're welcome! I ended up going with a blanket stitch using some embroidery floss in my stash (I waxed it first). It hides the raw edge, and looks pretty good, too. 😊

I love this! I was wondering how I can title this for 2023. Are you planning to add the title to the cover or do you suggest extra pages in the signature?
Thanks, Pam! I haven’t decided yet about a title, but my initial thoughts are to maybe put something on the inside front cover. You could also add extra pages, if you want, or just tip-in a title page at the front. 😊

I like to use old books that are falling apart to make my journals. The covers need to be in fair shape. I remove the pages and reinforce the spine.
