So cool that you met Josh and Pops...two of my favorite CZcams travel channels in one episode!
I watch Josh's channel too! Cool!
@@Twobarpsi Would you know the channel name? Thanks
@@daemocd yes! California Through My Lens is Josh's Channel.
@@Twobarpsi Thank you
also Through My lens would be for Alaska, Josh has 2 channels@@daemocd
It was really great meeting you in Dawson!
Likewise. I gotta do that again.
The buildings in Dawson City are so amazing! I had no idea. Thank you for sharing this!
Robert don't even know where to start...What an amazing summer and thank you for letting us come along. We are looking forward seeing more of your adventures heading back home!
Such beautiful scenery here, reminds me a lot of my home state. Thanks for the thousands of miles (and dollars!) you poured into this journey, and for braving the unpredictable weather, the relentless rough roadways and yes-those pesky mosquitoes too.
You definitely succeeded in taking everyone along for the ride of a lifetime, and presented beautifully the best of the far, far West; capturing the vast, wild and unique landscapes and personality of the last frontier. Your content is a real winner.
I will look forward to the last of the season as it makes way for the next. Hope you make it back to glorious Alaska to see those northern lights!
Robert….it’s probably a good thing you missed the stage show at Diamond Tooth Gertie’s as no video was allowed last time I was there….about ten years ago. I asked at the door if video was allowed and was told yes. I began taking video clips during the show and security came over and escorted me out of the hall! Yep….I was evicted! I’ve been badmouthing Diamond Tooth Gertie’s ever since!
In to the unknown expedition, exciting! The Ferry was amazing, glad you had the camera running. Dawson was amazing town.
nice long relaxing episode. Perfect a day like this one. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this video, my wife and I most likely checked you in to Gold Rush campground, we we're employed there from May to September of this past summer. Unfortunately the short season and high priced accommodations make the labour pool in Dawson very scarce forcing many businesses to shorten their operating hours. Working in Dawson was the best summer my Wife and I have experienced and we fell in love with the Town and people of Dawson, thanks again for sharing it brought back sooo many good memories 👍 New subs here
😅❤❤❤ this was so beautiful thank you for sharing all of this
These Alaskan videos 📹 keep on getting better! Camping 🏕 by the dock was perfect 👌 I am definitely looking forward to seeing the salmon glacier on the next episode.
Another great episode of your trip to Alaska and Canada. Love the beautiful views!!
As you said Robert, stunning scenery. Thank you my friend for sharing this with us.
beautiful place, an old town that I never thought existed, excellent video.👏👏👏👏👍👍👌👌👌
Thanks for the awesome video as always. Just a note, the northern lights do not happen every night, so even though it may have gotten dark enough, it may not have been on that night. Also, we can see them easily living in Edmonton, Alberta, so you don’t have to be so far north either. Just need the right conditions.
That Radio Station had a Northern Exposure feel.
🗻🛳🚙👴🏼👵🏻 what small beautiful town very nice. That close up window shot was great. Food time ☕🍲 @Traveling Robert🏚🏘⛲🌌🏞🎄🌃
Hi, just watched your Dawson City's video, it was so different, like you I would not have stayed there long. I was disappointed it had changed so much, we were there before it got so busy and had all the tourists and facelifts, etc. We were there in 1997, and 2006. We will never go back except for the trip in there which is wonderful. We actually stayed with miners , out of town. Good experience.
Canada seems so fascinating.
Beautiful video. Good luck to you.🎉Merry Christmas ❤
Beautiful video Thanks Robert ! 🙂👍
Dome road which is a short drive to the top of the dome above Dawson City and a great view of the city. We stayed at your campground there for 2 nights and explored the city but forest fire smoke so bad that visibility only about 1/2 mile so headed back south. Also got to tour a great old gold dredge on the outskirts of Dawson City.
That spot where you caught the ferry was the same spot where Tony Beets of the popular Discovery Channel Gold Rush had his boat unload the pieces of a giant dredge he had bought and needed to move up to his mining site.
Robert it's been wonderful traveling thru Alaska & Canada this summer with you & Illi, will keep following you on the way home, safe travels my friend. Javi G. un Tucson
I enjoy watching your videos, loving the adventure. ❤
Another awesome video. Thank you so much for taking us along.
Hello Traveling Robert, this was Absolutely AWESOME as your trip takes you almost to the Us Bordor. I certainly have enjoyed the ride thus far. Can't wait to see what's next 😎😎. What an AMAZING drive and those beautiful Mountains. Outstanding!
Very good!
Snowmachined from Tok to Dawson City and back. Left Tok at -40F….a little bit chilly…
Rober I watched one of this today from Alaska. Wanted to say that if i don't see a person cooking nad actually doing it I wont buy their cookbook. I have seen one use the instantpot many times. I have a bunch of cookbooks here already too. Dutch, Amish, and a few church dinner cookbooks. Have fun. I watch some of this video too today. It's ok to have a hiking staff with one at all times too. Saves wear and tear on the body and broken bones. My middle name is Robert! I too got myself involved into some accidents too and now my left hip has worn out. Its replacement time for that hip. It clicks and pops and seem to come out of the socket some. I can still walk on it ok and do feel the paine. Enjoy the trip. And have fun. If one has the money and a some time out of Akorage Alaska is a lake with some float planes. Have them fly one into Twin Lakes and explore that place for a while. Have them pick on back up in two days too. Penokie build himself a cabin by Twin Lakes and now it is a national park. They have camping there yet food has to be placed in the big steel bear containers. One's wife and one, Robert will like twin lakes. I would take a magnet and in the streams search for some gold. Alaskan gold is very pretty of the gold. Everything is high in Canada and then in Alaska. There are five litters to one us gallon. And if it is two dollars a litter then it is 10.00 per gallon. 50 kilometers is about 42 miles person hour. Try not to take one and the wife to the all one can eat crab dinner in Katchekan Alaska, where all the big cruse ships come in. It is expensive 60 to 80 dollars each meal, and what they do is to shut it down after two hours. On the Alaska ships it is expensive to go on them and it is about 15.00 per meal. A lot of people bring in their own food and keep it cold and stay in a tent on the deck to save some moeny. The tents are taped down on the deck. Paul in Ohio
Thanks!
Suuuperthanks!
Merry christmas Robert & family and y'all american people
Awesome
simply stunning beauty......keep it coming robert.
💚That’s a nice blue wig… Thank you Robert, always an awesome experience!!🌸
I like the time lapse photos and the drone footage.
Dawson City definitely looks like a place I need to add to my travel north bucket list! While I have totally enjoyed your trip to Alaska, I’m especially looking forward to seeing your return trip back through my home province of BC! I’m seeing places I have never seen before but I am also looking forward to seeing your take on places that I have been to before. Remember they don’t have Beautiful British Columbia on our license plates for no reason!
Love your travels and the music draws you into it thanks
❤ fabulous film
thank you❤
Thanks, Robert!👍
Watching that breakfast made me hungry so I sliced up some Spam and fried it up! Enjoyed seeing how well kept the buildings were in this video. Nice job.
Nice to be in the club.
Beautiful video! Great music!
That was just beautiful, Robert( and Illy)! The food at "The Drunken Goat" looked amazing!🍽🍽 And the small historical towns were picturesque!🏡⛪🏤🏩Thanks for sharing, and Happy Holidays!!🎄🏞🤗
What an amazing series Mr. Robert. Thank you, I am throughly enjoying this whole season. 🍻
Hello from Easley SC. Finally decided to subscribe after watching your shows for sometime now. Enjoyed every one of them. Thank you for your hard work. Please keep on traveling and keep on entertaining.
I enjoy your journey!!
Another fab video
Again it was a great video. We also did the Cassiar Hwy. Loved it.
Robert, watching your videos on my new s95c makes them even better if you can imagine that. Love your channel and content.
That lunch looked awesome 👌
Robert, we drove the Dempster hwy back in 1996 all the way to Inuvek. It was amazing. Would love to do it again with all these new overland vehicles.
So very much appreciate the work of the Chief Pelicanheads who have VASTLY IMPROVED closed captions over the auto generated crap that doesn't understand Robert's speech😅
🎶"So, ferry cross the Yukon, and always take me there..." 🎵(apologies to Gerry & The Pacemakers 🙂 )
Re: the Sourdough Saloon being too famous for its own good--unfortunately that's happened to a lot of cool places. Competing for service with a tour bus load of folks in a place like that is never fun. But the upside for you was discovering the The Drunken Goat. The food looks delicious--now I have a craving for dolmas! Running into all that smoky air towards the end of the trip must have been a bit of a bummer, but overall I'd say you had pretty good luck on the trip, visibility-wise.
And as the Alaskan adventure comes to a close I have to say "Job well done!" The sights and experiences of this trip are going to be hard to top, but there's always something new and exciting just around the next bend, eh?. Happy trails!
Winnebaggo is lucky you are doing the quality check for them with that stove loosing screws on the road.
Lovely views. Helps me out in wet South Wales UK 😂
Thanks for this other great video ! Merci pour cet autre superbe vidéo !
verynice video love it
In Dawson City, Bombay Peggy's Hotel has a friendly pub attached. Also, close to the junction of Top of the World Hwy. and the Yukon River, just before the ferry, is a great campsite near the famous paddle boat graveyard.
looks incredible - I'll have to experience through your vids
Wow this video covered a lot of ground. Very beautiful ground I might add. So many roads and so little time. Cannot wait to hit the camping trail again in the new year. As always, safe travels...
Hello from rainy Greensboro NC
Great! Great music, so relaxing and smooth, great landscapes...what If spend a whole season in Canada?
Loved your Canadian Video .We will be heading out Mid January for Florida 5 weeks doing our Videos.
Google Maps "claims" you can drive from Dawson to Miami in 71 hours. I doubt that! So cool to see Josh and Pops! I watch his channel too! That's soooooo crazy you randomly ran into him, in the middle of nowhere!
I liked the new music!
🐻
So robert after all those rough roads how did the Silverado hold up? Just wandering because I have the same truck. Thanks robert of Melbourne fl.
Held up really well. A few tiny nicks from rocks but otherwise it still looks brand new.
Hi Robert Im just wondering are you do your live podcast at 5pm this Thursday so I could attend
With your roof top gopro, how often are charging the memory card or what settings are you running get a full day's driving? You controlling it remotely?
Keep up the great work
4K30. A 256Gb card will record 8 hours
So Robert is telling us he has a screw loose?
A few 🤣
Hello from Greece 🇬🇷🇬🇷
10:50 This portion recoding is done with Smasung Galaxy S23 Ultra it seems... I replayed this section to figure it out..!! How is S23 Ultra to shoot Vlogging Video ? Is it better than iPhone Pro-Max ?? Any feedback ?
They are very comparable. iPhone might be a little better for selfie video.
I thought that was the reason for the charge they should do that in our town. such a shame that the grocery carts are taken and abandoned and damaged. they cost lots of cost to the stores
What if you don't have cash with you. Most stores have an employee returning the carts inside anyway, and that's where I would prefer to shop.
i would think if you knew you needed it you would have change with you@@TravelingRobert
What app do you use to create the animated route?
Motion
I'm surprised you chickened out on the biggest drive in North America the Dempster highway 😢
I'll be back with a more rugged rig
When you're in a destination where there's water do you ever check the temp? I often wonder how cold is it and if anyone swims there.
Sometimes.
I was watching your Yukon video and I am very interested in knowing what that water temperature was like.
I live in the Klondike, and I would never swim here! Remember, the ground is permafrost, so the river flowing over gets cooled. There are people that might swim in the dredge ponds, and there was a spot on the Klondike River that was very shallow and people were swimming there, but it got washed away in the spring flood.
take off shoes - lol - they would tell me - keep them on - hahahahahaha
when you had to pay for the use of the grocery cart do they refund what they charge
When you return it.
258k 12-22-23
Nice place, although sad to see dogs running around like that.
First comment 😂
Mira latino, ese "smoke" se llama "haze"! Nothing is burning nearby . .... just sayin'! Thanks for the ride!!
It was smoke from wild fires
you are getting carried away with your bar hopplng
I'm favoured, $60k every weeks! I can now give back to the local community and also support God’s work and church. ❤️❤️❤️
