    People saying the N64 version is better are seeing everything through a nostalgia lens and didn't play the other versions growing up. N64 has better graphics than the PS1 but the midi instruments and compressed sounds are a turn off, the PS1 version has an insanely good CD quality soundtrack but has those jagged PS1 graphics and warped textures. The Dreamcast version has both the sound quality of the PS1 and better graphics than the N64 with better textures, shading and resolution. @@cookiesontoast9981 I didn't say that I would necessarily want it, I'm just saying that if they did a remake, it would be wonderful.
      PS: The only Remake of old games I would like are The Remake of Toy Story 2 and an Ape Escape Remake Trilogy. Unfortunately, I understand that they are difficult remakes to make as they are not very popular games, however dreaming costs nothing and I keep hoping for it.

      @@Batmans_Justice Yeah those games aren't the most popular. Well.. They are pretty popular but not sooo popular that the big studios would green light some remakes.
      I just love PS1/N64 graphics so I don't really need remakes. I don't mind remakes if they're good though, like the Crash trilogy were great remakes. But as I said the Spyro remakes really pissed me off.

    • @somedude6647
      @somedude6647 Před rokem +1

      The DreamCast was released later and has much more sophisticated hardware than either the ps1 or n64, being considered next gen. Personally I think the n64’s notorious built in texture blurring works well for this game despite looking awful in some other games, but overall DC performs better and has better music.

    Dreamcast port has some flickering issues. N64 version does not have FMVs and the music is the same loop, also some shaders and transparent textures aren't rendered correctly (buzz's model is a good example). PS1 version is lacking anti aliasing and has the texture warping issue. Gameboy port is in a world of its own.
    In the end, there is no clear winner but I would give the victory to the Dreamcast or the PC version which wasn't mentioned here. It's one of those games that would hugely benefic from a PS2 remaster like Monsters Inc Scare Island.

    • @cullbear55
      @cullbear55 Před 3 lety

      I've heard the DC footage was captured through an emulator so the flickering could be because of that. I'd have to try playing the game on my actual one to see if it really occurs. I'd hope not, but I won't be surprised if it still occurs because it's a port. Something could've gotten messed up with the shading system.

    Okay so IDK why the graphics on the dreamcast version look glitchy here when I saw another video comparison and the dreamcast version did not looked so glitchy there. Was this an emulation issue or something? Or I'm assuming the dreamcast version had different revisions.

    • @albalog2449
      @albalog2449 Před 10 měsíci

      Emulation issue because other Dreamcast games on emulators in my experience (Kiss Psycho Circus and Blue Stinger comes to mind) has jankier edges and looks like a "PlayStation 1.5" or something. My Dreamcast copy of Toy Story 2 is a launch copy and it looks a lot better than this video on my TV (same for the other games). The edges are a lot smoother and no pixilation.

    N64 may have the best graphics in all versions of Toy Story 2 but it's obvious that the PS1 is the winner of all ports when it comes to the game overall. I've played the N64 and Dreamcast versions and both have stiff controls and aren't as fluid or quick as the PS1. Plus the N64 is easily the worst when it comes to sound and music
