  • #CT50 #AFLCT50 #FujikuraCT50 CT50 Fiber Optic Cleaver by Fujikura is built with Bluetooth and is the replacement to the CT30 Cleaver. The CT50 features automatic blade rotation via Bluetooth via the Splice+ app for your phone or pressing the blade rotation button on the cleaver. You can still manually rotate the blade by using the wheel on the bottom, no tools required.
Once paired with a Bluetooth enabled Fujikura splicer, cleaver blade positions can be automatically advanced when needed based on cleave count or cleave quality. This enables the blade to make the most and best use of it and extends the blade life up to 60,000 cleaves.
The blade position indicator clearly displays the selected position and much easier to read compared to the CT30.
    Features:
    - Motorized blade rotation
    - Bluetooth communication
    - Shock resistant
    - Simple one-step operation
    - 60,000 cleave blade life
    - Field serviceable

The correct blade placement is determined by the machine. At which point on the 70S+ will tell you where to put it. The 90S will simply adjust the cleaver for you. If your machine is having issues determining the correct blade height, place the cleaver on a hard surface in front of your vehicles tires. Then place your vehicle in drive. Run over the cleaver once going forwards and once going backwards. If the cleaver is still intact after this process, please repeat until the cleaver is unrecognizably smashed into molecule sized pieces. Then call Fuji and tell them what a pile of garbage the CT-50 is.

Wow! I never heard of that problem before. Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer. Should still be under warranty.

I’ve been using this cleaver with the 90S now for 6 months. Nothing good to report. 1) the cleave angles are horrid. 2) the burns due to the cleave angle don’t OTDR/power meter good. 3) cleaver, machine and case are entirely too big and heavy. 4) the cleaver will unexpectedly and unnecessarily rotate the wheel because the cleaver sucks so bad that the splice machine thinks the wheel needs to be rotated when it simply needs to be thrown in the garbage. In summary, Fuji hasn’t made any good machines since the 62S+ and CT-30 cleaver. The only real problem with the 62S+ was the heater was way too slow.

I have the same problems. Finally decided not to pair cleaver with splicer. To much fuss about nothing.

Totally agree. The only thing makes sense with this cleaver is durability so the technicians don't smash it to bits when stressed out...

Been splicing for 16 years, tried many different types of cleavers. Sumitomo, Fujikura CT-06, CT-30, CT-04B from early 90'ies and even no name chinese knock offs but CT-50 is the worst ever cleaver in my experience. If i could turn back time i would never change my 10 year old 60S and CT-30 to this 90S and CT-50 bluetooth crap which doesn't even work often...
