  • Coach Nate shows the performance and build elements of a simple reactive Pell build for developing dynamic accuracy. This Pell is good for any type of sword except for sharps.
The four elements of the build are:
    1. PEX pipe. 1 in. Diameter. 6 foot length. 3x
    2. Industrial grade carpet padding. 5 foot length.
    3. 2x4 8 foot 1x
    4. Used small car tire 1x.
To assemble the Pell you will need a few simple items and tools: duct tape, six 2.5" deck screws. A pilot drill bit. Drill. Hand Saw with a miter box or miter saw.
If you are not an adult please do not attempt without adult supervision.

Here is one thing you could do. I'll be posting a different drill very soon. Thanks for the feedback. czcams.com/video/AD2LFRyx8Ic/video.html

This is nice, economical and best of all it replaces the need to convince your wife to be your practice partner :D

Harbor Freight sells moving blankets for pretty cheap.

I have a porta-pell, made of a square wood post wrapped in carpeting that is covered in duct-tape, with a different color for the head, torso, and legs, with red over the no-strike zones and a square of tape on the face, chest, and stomach for targets for thrusting, and the pell fits into a square base. I also have a sort of reactive pell made of two tires linked together that hangs on a rope, and there are spots spray-painted at different locations along the outer sides of the tires, and so as you hit it, the tires spin (rotating separately), and I only target the sides, so as it spins it presents different targets.

I appreciate the video. The pell is a little skinny I think, it would be more fun with a more human body form. Well, I'll just build one that I like myself!

This one is just for basically cutting practice. I have since made more with four pex pipe spines and they work really well. But yeah, a body form Pell is fun for its own sake🙂.

dude thats a friggen awesome pell and its hella cheap to build (for me) i already have a junker tyre in the back yard and i have maybe some 2 x 4s in the garrage (not sure if i can do the perfect cuts tho)

2x4s work but because they are a rectangle they do some bad stuff to your wrist unless you wrap them up enough with padding. It's better if you use a 2x3 if you go that route. And then you will need a heavier base so a bigger tire or put a $5 sand bag inside the small tire. Good luck. Also I recommend the PEX pipe as it has give and will save your wrists for when you hit the thing for hours and hours. I'm so glad you are excited to try it. Good luck!
