  • Finding out if learners gained from your efforts as a teacher, a parent, or a principal is probably the most contentious aspect of education. Most existing assessment systems are designed to fit people into slots in a social system, regardless of what they would like to do or become. And examinations are often notoriously ineffective at predicting the future achievements of learners, with their sole purpose becoming to determine if the learner is suitable for admission to universities. This can only result in disgruntled youth - the lawyer who wanted to be a chef, the nurse who wanted to be a pilot.  And so, that brings us to this pertinent question- should you allow the use of the internet during examinations? Watch Sugata Mitra delve into this critical question, in this highlight from Toddle TIES.
