  • This weeks drum lesson song from the 'Andy Guitar Band Programme’; is 'Twist And Shout' by The Beatles!
    Having linked up with CZcams guitar maestro Andy Guitar, we’ve put together a series of songs showing you how to play along with a live band!
    There’ll be 21 songs in this series and each song has an accompanying full drum play through video, which you can view here: • Drum Covers and full drum lesson which you can view here: • Drum Song Lessons breaking down the major sections so that you can learn the parts and then play along to the live band version.
    Also for all you guitarists and bassists out there make sure you check out Andy's guitar & bass tutorials over on his channel: / andycrowley
    I hope you enjoy watching, learning and playing along to these videos… If you do remember to like, share and subscribe, and please comment me if you have any questions at all!

    One of the best instructional video I've watched. Guitar, bagpipe, bass, model making your drum tutorial was to the point, concise and easy to follow. You slow it down, then at speed for each section. And you offer work arounds for beginners. You're a good teacher.

    Thank God, I finally found a lesson where the instructor goes slow. Right now, I need SLOW and crystal clear.

      Great to hear, and yep you don't need a huge kit to learn the drums, specially if its Ringo stuff, always feel over anything else!

    This is one of the best covers I’ve seen of this song the only thing I would change is in the end of the song when your playing with the floor Tom and the snare at the end of the song. Rings was actually playing the ride cymbal and never even played the floor Tom from what I’ve seen in recordings of him playing. Besides that it’s perfect.

      Yeah nice one! As I usually say I try to get as close as my ears will take me and always room for improvement, will never say I’m presenting the exact part but I try to get close! Thanks for watching!

    Always wanted to drum, but I could never afford a kit. The air and floor had to make do. I've watched several of your videos. I'm doing much better thanks to you. You are a great instructor compared to others I've watched. Now I just need a set 😿. One that the cats won't destroy 😹. Thanks for the lessons!

    More recent videos isolating the original drums will clarify the kick pattern more accurately. Otherwise I think he's got it.

    Hi Thom, I am in awe of your skills! I am learning guitar with Andy's courses and have jammed to 4 of the band tracks. You lost me after the 3 drumstick counts in!.. but I shall enjoy the videos as I hope to improve my understanding of rhythm. Best wishes Bob.

    So with the doubles is it kind of like get back where you play doubles on your right and a single on your left hand

    • @ThomMillsDrums
      @ThomMillsDrums  Před 3 lety

      It’s a 5 stroke roll, doubles on both hands then a single, so RR LL R. At the beginning it’s a 6 stroke roll, RR LL RL, then the fills are 3, 5 stroke rolls followed by a 6 stroke roll. I hope that makes sense!

    • @njkdrums6241

      @@ThomMillsDrums yep I got it thank you. And what’s the speed that I should play it at

    • @ThomMillsDrums
      @ThomMillsDrums  Před 3 lety

      Practice it slowly and gradually increase to track tempo

    • @njkdrums6241
      @njkdrums6241 Před 3 lety +1

      @@ThomMillsDrums yeah doubles are definitely not my strong suit I think I just got to train my left hand because I’m right handed and my right handed doubles are great.

    • @ThomMillsDrums
      @ThomMillsDrums  Před 3 lety

      Practice doubles with left hand leading and make sure you are using the wrists and then fingers as the tempo increases

    The intro is a little bit more complex, it has a lot of ghost snares in it
