- Stay away from this : www.amazon.com... , and any thing that looks like it! Its FAR from " heavy wool" and will leave you cold, wet and miserable. Instead, make your own or buy one from : asbellwool.com , borealmountain..., www.canadianou... , weatherwool.co... or any other TRUSTED cottage manufacturer..... PLEASE! I bought this one to show you guys just how cheap it is and how it looks compared to different types of REAL HEAVY wool and rag wool.
Also, a HUGE shootout to Laconian Concepts : / @laconianconcepts
He tagged me in a recent vid on 5 tips for beginner Bushcrafters. So here are my 5! Thanks brother! I am tagging :

Show them some love and check out their channels!!! ~ Chesapeake
I wonder if this is the same one I saw an instagram ad for, where the company stole Trustin Timbers Weatherwool test footage. Take a look at that video and see if it looks familiar.
Yeah I think they stole footage and pics from quite a few people. One of the websites that sells these ( they all sell the same anorak, right down to the orange tag on the front) even has a page on their site that goes over what to do if you feel they have unlawfully used your images or video lol! Here's a link to the thread I started on Hammockforums.net, in it a few other forum members confirm the unlawful use of SEVERAL peoples pic/vids who are well know in the "outdoors community" : www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/161256-Fake-wool-anorak. With so many people getting into Bushcraft and related activities, I felt this scam needed to be shown to as many people as possible with hopes that it saves a few newer outdoorsman falling victim ya know? The sticker shock on 'raks from cottage companies are like Boreal Mtn, Asbell, Weatherwool and Lester River compared to something like this that looks the same in the "Amazon" pics but costs considerably less is exactly what these shit Chinese companies are counting on unfortunately. Feel free to pass my vid around to help get the word out.
@@ChesapeakeHammockandOutdoors THANKS! --- They stole some photos and vid from us, among others. Best Regards --- Ralph from WeatherWool
@@WeatherWool Absolutely! That's EXACTLY why I made this vid : to hopefully spread the word to those who might have had their intellectual property stolen and to help those who might fall pray to these evil bastards. Glad I could help my friend! Let me know if you ever need anything tested, I have access to -20°F on a daily basis😉
@@ChesapeakeHammockandOutdoors And somebody flagged me about them at it again on Facebook today. More stolen pics and vids and a new company name. Amazing. MANY THANKS and Best Regards --- Ralph
Thanks for the shout brother! Great informative look at a gnarly scam. Those new to the community may not even know what to look for, so it helps when this of us who DO know can point it out and save them money/heartache. Also I agree that’s it’s so important to enjoy yourself... that’s the whole point right? Great tips bro and thanks again for showing love. Cheers!
Absolutely, thanks for the tag! If you search Amazon for " wool anorak" you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. If we can save one person from making a bad mistake on something like this, or one of our tips really helps someone who's just getting into it then I think we've done our job. Without the passing on of knowledge learned from countless hours of trial and error and a willingness to spread as much wisdom as possible, the number of new outdoorsman ( yes, I said outdoorsman, not people ,lol) will continue to shrink as technology and busy lives consume our societies. The next generation could very well be the last if we don't share things like this I think. How many young kids would rather scroll FB than watch how to use a compass or a vid on the latest gear from _______ outdoor company? We have to get them excited to be outdoors and teach as much as we can before it really is like a lost art form. Keep the videos coming brother, love the channel!
@@ChesapeakeHammockandOutdoors if it’s any indicator of whether I agree or not... my 10, 8, and even 4 year olds have lensatic compasses (plastic for the 4 year old but it does work). The 8 and 10 have their own knives and ferro rods. And they all have their own hammocks to boot. Thanks again for a great explanation. This tag series was a great way to keep the knowledge flowing and get people back into the old ways.
I cant notice the difference between the real and the scam.thanks for the tip.
You saved people from heartaches
Thanks for watching! That's exactly why I decided to do this vid, because its only getting worse. If I can save one person the disappointment I consider it a huge success. Feel free to pass it on ! ~ Chesapeake
Why has the genuine product gone up in price since the scam? One guy saying he paid $250 for his Boreal, now on the website it's $335?? Did they did that die to increased traffic from the scam? That's not right if that's the reason, or would they just blame COVID.
Another great video. More people need to see your stuff. Keep up the good work. Real people helping people.
This is still going on! I bought 3 for Christmas 2022. The scum bags that sold them wouldn't give me a return address so I could return. Filed a dispute with Discover Card. Discover wouldn't do a thing. So false security with purchasing with a credit card. So wrong!
I knew it was a scam but I ordered one to compare to the boreal wool one that I own. They are worlds apart.
I'm pretty sure the fake photos you're referring to of a guy with a goattee are stolen from a review of a WeatherWool jacket.
I bought one to use as a pattern since I couldn’t find a pattern anywhere else. Amazon also gave me a full refund since the item was not as described without having to return it.
Thank you for the heads-up.
Ya it sucks that people do that . But now you have a pattern to make a real one that will look great and be real wool. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts. Good video. I think I want one. Just like you said.
Good thing I seen this... was going to buy this on Amazon lol 😆
My Boreal Anorak 100% wool, made in Canada, cost me over $600 ❗️After customs duty and postage. Its a real quality garment though, and is so warm & will last a lifetime. If you pay $35 surely you're bound to know its a fake, it wont keep you warm and will last a few months of you're lucky.
IF your lucky, lkl
@@ChesapeakeHammockandOutdoors Definitely. 👍🏼 🤣 Fake Chinese "Wool" Anoraks are a complete waste of money.
$600? Pass
I ordered 1 yesterday, if I get ANYTHING I'll be surprised..
I got scammed also ! Same label on the bottom left side ! BUMMER !
Brown one is not wool, after looking inside and outside the Fabric seems like Terry Fleece. Grey one is fine and made of wool.
I got scammed by this too. I had a feeling it was too good to be true and it was.
I've been getting these emails (UK 🇬🇧) guessed it was a scam
I would probably get one as a template, most items are too good to be true
Excellent idea. Make a how to vid....
Got me also,really cheap product
381 done
That is not wool
Fuck sakes I just ordered 4 of these
Shitty bro! I got done myself. Scumbags
