- This time had been on another trail following the adventures of Kenneth Anderson - The strange case of The Gerhetti Leopard (a story from the "Tales from Indian Jungles" published in 1970). I drove to Gerhetti trying to retrace the footsteps of KA, and trying to find out the place where the incident took place. It was a cloudy day, with a mild drizzle that accompanied me throughout the drive with some stunning sceneries to watch out for and a beautiful taramac with twisties which is a pleasure for any riding enthusiast. Hope you people can join along and experience the ride.
Shreyas Sir, Your great efforts taken me into the Kenneth Era and exact scene came in front of me. You are real fan of KA. I thank you from bottom of my heart ❤️ Keep trailing KA 🙏
Thanks a lot for sharing such kind words 🙂🙏 Hope to follow up on more Kenneth stories.
I give your videos a like even before watching them. Thank you for showing these historic places to us.
That's so nice of you. Thanks 🙂
Thanks
Thank you for the time you've put into this.
Thanks. Looking forward to more adventures!
Dear Ranganath ji, it was an amazing virtual tour of the locale of the Gearatti leopard story. I am a big fan of Anderson since school days. I have very often tried to locate the locations that he has mentioned in his stories on Google Maps and via some blogs. But this video was more impactful and entertaining!! I am also happy to see large jungle tracts still intact in the southern states in comparison to the massive deforestation in Maharashtra. I have observed this during my few trips to Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and I observed it in your video too. You could have also interviewed some villagers in your video with subtitles, about the wildlife present there now and about Anderson, if anybody still remembers him. Thanks again for this virtual tour!!
Thanks Atul 🙂 good to know....and yes, i remember asking about wildlife to villagers, but regarding anderson, i wasn't sure they would remember or for the fact if they would know his name so i didn't ask many around.
Thanks a lot
Excellent SR.Like you I too KA fan.I have read his adventures in this part of his territory.Beautiful place to visit.Excellent work done by you. Please keep it up.I hope to establish contact with you soon. Thanks 👍👍👍🙏
Thanks Vishwanath for your generous comments 🙏. Good to know you are a KA fan as well. 🙂
Nice video and thanks for the great effort. Drove myself to Pennagram and Gerheatty. Good location. Tried driving to Anchetty but road was not good and too much traffic from Bengaluru towards Hogenekkal. But this area is still not much developed and 80 years or so back must be pretty wild here. Nice to see what we all imaging and you sir are doing it. Kudos to you and your team.
Thank you Sir....🙂🙏 And yes this area is pretty wild still.... hogennikal road is ofcourse very crowded especially in weekends....
Nice ,good information sir ..
The place looks scenic despite the recent developments. Beginning to wonder how pristine they were during KAs times.
That's true, there were no roads to these Interior regions 80yrs back, except some dirt tracks, so it would have been pretty much untouched back then.
I am presently reading the omnibus vol 2 and was intrigued to see if anyone has explored those places. But man, your video felt like a reconstruction to the story all together. Who goes all the way to such places to just retrace the happenings of the story? Great work Sir.
Thanks a lot 🙂🙏 it's good to know....
Glad you spotted the old forest rest house. There was a story of a rogue elephant also in Gerhetti by KA
That's right, and planning to cover it as well...
The garage was on the left of the rest house there is some wooden structure I noticed in your video.. the last human victim was a honey gatherer or a merchant.
I don't remember seeing the garage there, it was something else, but will check again when i am there next time
For important information that concerns all of humanity,
look up Mark Alan King - The lions of Israel. You can find his
main website via a bing search and he is on numerous social media
platforms also!
Read the story again after..seeing this video
Very nice video Shreyas. & I wish you all the best for your future endeavors.
Thanks 🙂
Great work...thanks...keep it up....I am also fan of KA
Thanks 🙂
Again now❤❤❤❤
Excellent work
Thank you 🙂🙏
Make more sir.. it's awesome
Thanks Pramod.
Pl specify state and district of places
Wow thanks for this
Nice one Shreyas, did you ever contemplate on Kenneth's experience of the paranormal? the guest house near Ooty? We can perhaps ride together and investigate if you like..
Not yet, I need to read about it I guess. Will check it out, and sometime in future can plan for it.
@@Shreyas.Ranganath you may check the chapter- jungles long ago , Anderson knew a watchman at the Kalhatti forest bungalow who was murdered and buried near the bungalow. Years later when Anderson happened to stay in this bungalow with his son Donald, the ghost of the watchman appeared before them.
Great job, Shreyas.... My friends visited Gerhetti in that 2005 ish period and I think you hit the right spots. By the waya village called Jungalapalyam did exist but that village became "extinct" - no one lived there ..Not sure when it became extinct though
Thanks Sir....and thanks for providing this information, since I tried and couldn't find that village at all.
@@Shreyas.Ranganath - You are welcome, Shreyas. Really thrilled to see you tracing KA's footsteps/ trial... Way back in 2004, a bunch of us who read KA books got together and did pretty much the same...We met Donald Anderson in 2007/08- and one of us- Joshua Mathew- wrote a book on Donald Anderson called "The Last White Hunter"
That's very good to know.....and I recently learnt about joshua Mathew and his book on Donald. Guess he and few others helped Donald in his last days as well. Am planning to read the book shortly.
@@hariharankrishnaswamy4816 what you have commented is amazing. Imagine, assisting the son of Kenneth Anderson to continue his father's legacy. May all good things follow in your and your friends footsteps. I never thought to find such goodness via CZcams.
Please visit Sangam... The sangam panther...
Nice vedio sir really u find tha place where actually KA killed man eater o gerhethi
Thanks Satish 🙂🙏
As can be seen jungle disappeared now and treeless area is now agricultural land
Hi Shreyas you must try Dhimbam Tiger story of Kenneth. Even the tea Shop mentioned in that story is still there.
Sure Sai, thanks for info, will plan in future.
Is it Thalawadiya mooka rakshasa?
