I met him along with Ken Doherty, Joe Swail and Ian Hunter in a hotel we were staying in in Manchester.
They returned from an exhibition, came into the hotel bar which was quiet, KD came up to the bar first and he bought us a drink and chatted to us fellow Irish lads, the other guys joined him, they necked a few fast drinks, then Jimmy said they were going up to change clothes then going in to a club in town, did we want to join them. He had a driver & PA guy, us two travelled in that BMW 4x4 and the four players were in a white stretch limo. I only got a peek into it.
Off to the Club, entrance via a side steel stairway, Cordoned off area of the club, about 20 others there, free beers and Cava (not bad to drink, close enough to champers for this pleb). Jimmy also paid for double vodkas and bacardis at the bar. They were lovely guys, Autographed a piece of paper for a very ill close family teenager.
Approx two years later Paul Hunter passed away, only three months after our teenager sadly died.
Long story, but just wanna tell it as it was... lovely friendly guys, and really generous. I now have that piece of autographed paper🙏. Magic.
Jimmy is of course legend all on his own. ✌️✌️

From my understanding he got a hair transplant in the 1990's which was a botched job that scarred his head and there was talk of a lawsuit with the clinic. He has worn a wig since, presumably to cover the scarring

My friend used to DESTROY me in pool. I started playing snooker at a local club and, after 6 months, we met up and I beat him at pool for the first time. Until I started learning the art of snooker, I didn’t realise how important cue ball control was in pool. Yes, I know nothing and you are better than me.
Yeah pool requires just as much skill as snooker when it comes to ball control. Not as easy as it looks

He got a hair transplant about 30 years ago and there was a lawsuit because he claimed it was a botched job and he was out of action for a period of time after the surgery. He has been wearing a wig ever since, I must assume the wig is to cover the scarring from the botched surgery
@columkenn I didn't know that, I just think he should rock whatever he has under there. Be proud. That said, if he is comfortable with it, good on him.
@jonathanlegg4308 The scarring from such a surgery is probably hideous. I remember him being asked in an interview after her returned to playing and he said he couldn't discuss why he had been out of snooker because there was a lawsuit over the procedure. He's been wearing a wig ever since
