  • This video is an extension to the crane design challenge, in which you change the end-effector of your crane to an electromagnet, then test to see if your electromagnet can pick up and move some metal debris.

    Copper is not magnetic. It must be an alloy with iron, nickel or cobalt in.

    The crane should have pulleys

    Copper is NOT a ferromagnetic or magnetic material and as such cannot be attracted to a magnet as you have shown in your video. Otherwise a nice project. .
