I can believe that it is not on the list, but I would not have been surprised if it made the list. I hated the M3 Lee, but my average win rate in the M3 Lee was 58%, so I went back to it to see if it was really as bad as I remembered-- it was.
It have been one of my 'winningest' tanks, but playing it was never a joy.
Only surprise is that the soviet tanks didn't group closer together - not surprised that one took top spot.
The Standard B should be on that list. It's so easy to play and flexible. Hard to imagine more people don't have success in it.
It requires an understanding of the game mechanics. That's why you see the 430U and M4 derp version, but not the bat chat or swedish medium tanks.
I don't understand why the t 34 1 is there though, with its awful gun handling and poor everything-other-than-the-front-of-the-turret armour.
And that french medium? Literally a seal clubbers wet dream.
T50 is also very flexible. With 23 sec base clip reload and 10 degrees of gun depression you both unload and reload just as fast as Progetto 2 shells. Even if you fire only one shell reloading for 20 sec isnt a that much of a problem. While Progetto lacks in DPM and speed of clip unload.
@@misterdayne2792 Most people didn't realize that T-34-1is *very* small. As the result, it has a great camo to play peekaboo either with armor or camo. It's also very low that if you sidehug people most tanks can't shoot you in your hull, resulting in silly spectacles.
Totally agree. I do a lot better in the Standard B than the Obj 430....
Maybe 'cause T9 is somekind of the "forgotten Tier" and the low dpm of the Standart B?
And OFC the Object 430 has the easiest grinding of all. You forget to mention that. Does not need to research anything. You got to top gun, the top turret. The trucks and engine does not change anything just slightly.

Exactly. 430 is strong and noob-friendly but limited by its penetration (also premium ammo), accuracy, shell velocity and view range. Leo PTA or Standard B have much higher potential.
No stock grind is a reason for its high win ratio. Other tier 9 meds have 100-200k grinds to be playable and for average player it takes longer to research all modules than to research tier 10 tank...
btw. this says a lot about M46 Patton too, because you need ~150k XP (70k for gun alone and until you get it you have 240 alpha with under 2k dpm!) to make it good, yet it still appears on this list. I imagine Patton's win ratio would be in 53-54% region if not that horrible stock grind.
T-43 and T-44 grinds are pain in the A$$
T-44's D5T has a really horrible pen at 144mm/194mm
While in the tank like Pershing, you just get yourself a 90mm M3 with 160mm AP pen and 240mm pen with APCR
Sherman Jumbo is far and away my favorite. Derp gun plus god tier frontal hull and turret makes for an absolute delight in a good matchup. It can be frustrating in a tier VIII match, but if you know how to use it, even tier VII tanks struggle.
In the map studzianki, I use my jumbo to play on the ridge around the factory, the front 100mm is really good it's even block some shell from tier 7, not to mention tier6. The turret is great too, 152mm all around. Combine with derp gun.
One problem with this tank is mobility though.
I prefer playing the Jumbo for when I need to finish missions that need top damage and damage blocked. It's way more mobile in it's own right than some Tier 6 or even 7 HT in the game
@@Hikkibaka The mobility is poor for a medium, but compared to a lot of heavies of the tier, it rocks. And since it's basically a pocket heavy, if you can get in the right position, I rarely have a problem with it. It's great in the bottlenecks on Abbey or Caen.
did you also natice the (hidden?) "auto"-crit-hit stat?
every time i score a hit with the jumbo 105mm/stock turrent, the crit bell rings ;)

Well, if you listened at the start, it was the top 50 based on win rate on the EU server. This wasn't personal preference, simply stats.
Nice video. I got surprised to see the Somua in the list but I was even more surprised not to see tier 3 and 4 medium tank with their HE shells
The M46 surprises me a bit. It is good but not great. The accuracy trolls so often, the standard Pen is low compared to other tier 9 meds and the turret is not that reliable against tier 9 and 10 tanks.
It takes a good player to make it work best as i only see 1800+ wn8 Players perform well in it.
And it still managed to be the number 10 out of all medium tanks
It surprised me as well, not as much as it would have had I not played it myself though. The M46 was my second Tier 9 and I performed very well in it once I had the top gun. Something about it just punches well above what the eye can see.
I'm a 1600 player and the M46 is one of my best tanks stat wise, so many high calibers and its insane how well you can hold back heavies if you can get on a hill ahead of them
Honestly, I never had any problems with m46 since its cheek armor is worthless
I hated m46 when i played it stock. But fully upgraded it is pretty good :)
I expected AMX30 proto instead of M46.
I was surprised the t-54 wasn't on the list. I love that tank. Also, the Pantera and / or the Standard B.

so happy that they gave love to the 430 line , i played it before the buff and loved it when everyone was playing obj140 , but i wish all the 140 players couldn't play the 430 line after the buff.
The only downside of the Matilda = Churchill
I still have mine, possibly my first ever tier IV, but I just can't bring myself to play it because the lack of speed just kills me.

The Panzer IV-H shells have better stats (pen, avg/dmg) than the Sherman. I prefer it
typeviic1 , me 2, but sherman also has 12 degrees of gun depression, while pz 4h has 10 if remember corectly.

Too many not so good players start with german tanks and ruin the stats. Like me. Not going the easy way with mother russia.
Standard B I think would be a no-brainer to make this list, but also the Italian tier four P26/40. It has 10 deg of gun depression, 175 alpha with the HE that has 70mm pen and 110 alpha with AP (97mm pen) and HEAT (130 mm pen).
The p26/40 also has good gun handling.
@@maniacpanic666 yes the gun handling is decent, the accuracy is meh....but it's not a sniper. The 175 alpha I think still surprises a lot of enemies

Loving the 430 since hearing your recommendation and using the season one Battle Pass blue prints to accelerate this tree. Still a little short of the 430U but I'm not sure I care! I always played heavies and TDs up until now but have now discovered the magic of mediums.
The Matilda, S35, and order of the 430/U were definite surprises.

Had crazy ~5k dmg games in it, playing against t9s...The only higher t7 damage game I've had was in Panther 1, 5.4k (though it was a loss)

win % only tells part of the story, maybe a low skill cap list would be better for newer players... most of these are out of reach for the majority of players that have not been at it for years, but tanks like the T 44 and Cromwell are easy on new players to feel that they can consistently contribute to the team and easy to get as well.

Thx QB. I'd like to see a video about tanks worth keeping. They don't have to be competitive but should offer a unique gameplay experience. For example, tier-IV Grant is very awkward but can deal a massive amount of damage. Its armour is quite weak but if hiding behind a left-side corner, the enemies would have some trouble hitting it. Another one is Strv 74, it has bad DPM & bad armour, but the gun is reliable to do snapshots, it is something for a tier-VI tank.
Love it when you review tanks that are not premium and special achievement tanks! Based on this, it looks like I have a couple of lines to work on. One surprise was the Standard B did not make the list. Thx QB.

I love the Progetto 65 the italian tech tree, i love the gun mechanic its accuracy and its mobility
I think jumbo is the best medium tank for me, because I have played a lot of heavies and tds, so it's forgiving in some missplayes because of the armour.

That Sherman squad is brutal
Not surprised by the Somua S35. One of the tanks I've had for ages is the Pz.Kpfw S35 793 (f), which is a premium German version of the Somua S35. I pretty much learned the game in that tank, and I still have a 54% win rate in it, so there's no wonder the standard French version does so well.
Didn't know the T-34-1 is that strong! Making my way up the Chinese medium line and I just got it yesterday. Can't wait to fully unlock it.

The M-4 was the first tank I double starred, I did it without food either. (I was naive back then) It was my first Radley Walters medal as well. It's a great tank at it's tier once you learn how to use medium tanks well. That said, I do prefer the tier six Easy Eight, I'm currently at a 60% win rate in that. The Centurion is good, so is the Firefly. Shout out to the VK 3001 series and the A-43 in the Russian line as well!
Ah, the S35 was a treat to play. I tought intially it was crap, but it's a very good support tank.
The christmas event gave me enough blueprints to fully unlock the obj 430 and obj 430U, and just free exp my way to the engine to unlock the obj 430U, I initially skipped the 430 so i can play the tier 10 one because I know how it plays based on the test server. After watching this video I came back and bought the obj 430, now I understand why this tank is at the top of the list. The pseudo heavy tank playstyle is what makes this tank competitive, pair that with tanks that are 2 tiers lower, you’re sure that this tank can beat them to pieces, it can go either with the heavies of catch up with the other medium tanks. So far i’m enjoying this tank, so much so that i’m actually playing it alot more than the 430U
Matilda and T20 ALSO have excellent camo as well, for those maps where camping is necessary. Surprised not to see the M2 Medium not there also (decent speed, just awesome view range and howitzer gun). Pz 3J also really good (a tier 4 Cromwell), T-34 (that DPM!) and the P26/40 (for the armour, mobility, gun depression and the H.E. damage).
Just a little fun fact.
There is a reason why QB omitted Premium tanks.
Because otherwise first 31 (THIRTY ONE) places among mediums are ALL premium tanks. Just in case you had any doubts these things are overpowered and pay to win.
Similar situation repeats for Heavies, with only a couple of tech-tree vehicles interrupting a steady line of premiums.
The situation with lights is marginally better, but still first 12 places are premiums.
Tank destroyers are perhaps the most balanced here, but still - premiums take the podium and tech-tree TDs that make it high are universally broken OP (like Bobject) or super heavily armoured bricks.
Hell, EVEN Artillery is infested - the only 2 premium arties are obviously statistically the best ones.
Even if you disregard the clan wars rewards and such - it still leaves overwhelming amount of premiums on top of the lists.
Talk about pay to win now.

It is just a half-truth though, since you are omitting other factors in favour of generalized "overpowered pay to win".
Obviously there are some blatant cases where premium tank laughs at the opposition (and those absolutely suck), but for many other premium tanks what pushes their average winrate slightly above tech-tree counterparts are some smaller meta-things and not sheer stats.
Firstly, they never have to play stock, for tech-tree tanks it is an initial period of worsened performance that slightly lowers overall winratio.
Secondly, premium tanks, due to their purpose as crew trainers and being able to make use of any crew-members available, generally have more experienced crew, pushing their performance up, despite tanks being possibly balanced from raw stats perspective. Especially compared to tanks in the early and middle parts of the tech-tree, where players just passes through with their semi-decent crew.
Third is player-availability, to put it simply, because premium tanks are limited that means that the severly below-average "casual", young etc. players generally don't have them (since those types of players correlate with unwillingness or inability to spend money on some fancy tanks in a computer game). So the average player''s abilities playing premium tanks are higher/stats aren't understated that much by an by average weaker players as they are with tech-tree tanks.
There is the argument that players who buy premium tanks are the more invested and skilled players and that's why they have higher win rates...
...but that definitely isn't the main factor. Some of those things are OP as balls.
@@0ld1eye That may be true about clan wars reward tanks, tournament rewards or campaign reward vehicles.
But for other commonly available premiums - I doubt it. The bot-level wallet-warriors that have only premium tanks on their accounts are basically WoT's signature plague.
We all know little Timmy, with 40k games in his only tank - the Lowe or Defender or whatever else. With 35% winrate and 600dmg average.
big part of that is the stock grind though. Many people just grind a tank and go to the next. Premium tanks dont have that, that massively tweaks their statistical WRs. Though ofcourse there are OP premiums as well

I love the IX Obj 430. I got the X 430U, then realised I'm better at tier IX. Can play the 430 with standard ammunition and have consistently good battles. Can play without premium and at least break even. I get more favourable match making at IX than at tier X too. Either top tier, or middle with 3-5-7 MM. This tank can still do well in a match up with tier Xs if you play conservatively. For an average player, this is important.

The Somua S35 should be no surprise at all. Ever since low tiers were restricted to +1 matchmaking, the S35 and the German Panzer version effectively got an armor buff since they would no longer be seeing tier 5 tanks with guns that can shred their armor easily. Being bottom tier in those 2 tanks isn't nearly as painful as it used to be now that top tier is tier 4 and not tier 5 any longer.
I really like the skoda, specially when I fully aim and the shells fly to the moon instead of that flat e50 side

Surprised the T-34-85 didn’t make the list. Dominant performer for tier. I personally had excellent WR with T-34, T34-85, and T-44. That line was amazing.
VK 30 D? is a damn beast in tier 6 i feel like better than cromwell, because you can bounce a lot of shots with the troll armor

i only ever played the t34-1, i knew it was good and was always happy to see it. it was rare. thats what made it better. i could bounce every thing, i mean the most unbelievable bouces.
Would love to see a top 10 for tier 8 and especially tier 9.

Yesterday I took out the Obj 430. On that map with the big field in the middle, whatever it's called, our Strv drove out into the middle of the field and got wasted in the first 30 seconds. Our T30 also sat out in the open and got wasted almost as quickly. The next match we had a T10E5 and the other team a Super Conq - guess what happened? T10E5 was first tank dead. This type of thing went on for game after game. It took about 5 games to finally get a win, for a 20% win ratio for the day.
Having just ground out the Brit turreted TD line, few tanks made me swear as much as the Obj430 with it's Stalinium armor. The T50 is a close second with how fast that thing could kill me.
I'm suprised that the Standard B is not on the list. I have such an easy time with it.
Because like most autoloaders/autoreloaders, most plebs manage a clip of damage if that, getting killed in the process because they tunnel vision on dumping the clip into one single tank
I agree. Love mine and it's a beast when played correctly. I actually play mine better than my Prog65.

I'm surprised the Udes 14/5 is not on the list, I've been having a hell of a time trying to ace tanker that, did a 4k damage game with 2k spotting and it was only a 1st class.
