  • Tips for mounting TVs above electric fireplaces
    Adding a fireplace to a room doesn’t have to be a challenge. With an electric fireplace and a little design help, it’s easy to create an inviting space that you’ll love to share with friends and family.
    Did you know that an electric fireplace gives you more control than a gas or wood-burning fireplace? Adjust the heat levels to best accommodate you room size and desired temperature. Or choose to only display the visual beauty without any heat!

    My TV bottom is at 52 inches and love it. In a 12 X 15 room. I do think it is up to the home owner to make the final decision. I have grand kids and they are not in the way of the TV or standing in-front of it staring at it. Wanted to add a Pic, not seeing how to though.

    Oh my goodness! Finally someone talking sense! I'm amazed at how many people thinks it's okay to put their TVs high above their fireplace. I have the fireplace on a different wall and the TV is at 33-34" and it seems just right. However, if you don't have a choice and need to put the fireplace on the same wall then you do have to make it look appropriate and may need to move the TV up a little. I am currently working through this building a new home and have to put the TV/fireplace on the same wall. Electric fireplaces certainly seem more convenient to have that TV lower. Can you reference an article or video discussing pros/cons of electric linear fireplaces vs. gas ones? Thanks for the great advice!

    *Very easy to set up and use, attractive but be sure you understand the height--it's not tall. The heat is not overwhelming, but steady and pleasant fireplace **fireplace.homes** . It's quiet, too. I like the possibility of easily moving it from room to room in the event we want supplemental heat elsewhere. Definitely a good buy.*

    Thanks for the great video….i have it at 42” in living room and 51” (over fireplace/jnsert) and the 42” is perfect. 51” needs a tilt but the room is also larger.

    good advice..I have one insertion namely speakers placement. We all know about the poor sound quality from the TV. Soundbar will make TV mount at least 6 inch higher. Something we need think about in this design style.

    • @stylishfireplaces
      @stylishfireplaces  Před 2 lety

      Hi Raymond. We do encounter soundbars occasionally, and most are less than 4 inches high. However, I would still work from the bottom of the TV down. That is, get the bottom of the TV where you are most comfortable for viewing, then put the soundbar below that. Occasionally, we have seen clients mount their soundbar above the TV. Also, many clients are finding that the sound from the TVs has been getting better, so they don't use a soundbar. It's all personal preference, of course, but definitely something to take into consideration if you are using a soundbar.

    I just bought that same fireplace, and we’re in the decision stage of how high for TV / Fireplace
    What’s the height of that fireplace from floor to bottom of fireplace.
    Thanks

      Hi, Mike. Our fireplace is 12" off the floor, to the bottom edge of the fireplace. Our TV is at 42" off the floor to the bottom of the TV.

    How do you handle tv boxes like bell and Rogers boxes when you don’t have a niche or mantel? Where do you keep these boxes?

    • @stylishfireplaces
      @stylishfireplaces  Před 2 lety

      You have to plan for these when designing the wall, with a niche, mantel or side cabinets. The good news is that we don't need these as much with streaming.

  • @luckyu521
    @luckyu521 Před rokem

    Would your recommendation change based on the size of the TV? Or ceiling height? I read somewhere for a 75” tv, 49” from floor to bottom of TV is ideal.

    • @stylishfireplaces
      @stylishfireplaces  Před rokem +1

      I wouldn't change the height of the TV based on ceiling height. The TV should be at a height that's comfortable for viewing from your favourite seat. The farther away you are, the higher you may want to go. Our recommended height is based on years of experience installing fireplaces and TVs, and the feedback we've received from clients. It's a starting point for you to figure out what works best for you!

    • @stylishfireplaces
      @stylishfireplaces  Před 9 měsíci

      The Frame is a nice TV, however I'm not sure how it affects the height at which you want to view it. It should be mounted at a height so that you are comfortable viewing it.

  • @aeliusdawn

    Don’t put it above the fireplace. It should be at eye level.
    This is the worst interior design trend of the 21st century.

    • @stylishfireplaces
      @stylishfireplaces  Před 3 lety

      Like it or not, TVs will be mounted above fireplaces. Fortunately, with electric fireplaces there is no minimum distance between the fireplace and the TV so you can mount the TV low enough for comfortable viewing.
