Wow.. the second half of this video brought me to tears 😢 I can't imagine the pain you have all been in. I am sorry that you were that low - something or someone was watching over you that day. I am glad you did not have the means that day ❤ It's easy for me to say "who cares what anyone thinks?" But truly.. try not to care if it's possible! Only you know what you're going through. The people of the world haven't yet agreed on any single topic so you're always going to have fans and haters. I am so sorry for what you are going through but I do love your new floor plan and the design choices you are making! The new house looks absolutely fabulous and serene!!! Thank you for sharing with us!! Without personal details, is there anything you learned from this horrible incident that you would advise others to do differently--aspects to home insurance policies, mortgage, etc. in case this happens to someone else? There are always ‘state limits’ but until something like this happens you ‘think’ you will be insured/covered. 💕
Great question! So, one thing that was surprising was that we had to list every item we’ve ever owned. That was overwhelming after just losing everything. It felt like trying to climb Everest. But, we just took it in little chunks. My husband and I each worked on it individually for 30 mins a day. In terms of the cost, insurance covered what our home was worth. However, building a house is this market is insanely more expensive. So, people think we got a free house out of the deal, but we didn’t. I mean now we’ll have a higher mortgage than we did before. Of course, like I said, some of that is because we are putting nicer products in this home. It will look more like a show home than our old one. Our first home was nice, but not flashy. We’re older, we’ve been through h*ll, we want a beautiful home. But other than that, our insurance company was very easy to work with, very understanding. I mean I cried in every meeting because I cried every day for like 2 months. And they were so understanding. It was really hard to pay off our mortgage though. The company that had it was impossible to work with. They required a bunch of documentation, it was bizarre. Like really? We just want to pay off our loan!! During one of my many phone calls with them I was crying and yelling all at once. It was a lot of trauma at once. 😅 sooo glad it over. You have to have a lot of strength in those first few weeks.

God really throws us a curve in our lives that we totally don't expect. Mine was breast cancer 30 years ago next month-it came out of the blue and knocked me off my feet. After the shock was over, it was time to dust myself off and move forward-I could have become bitter, but I became better-as one person said, the difference between the two is "I". I thought it was funny you said you are 33 and "starting over" like it was a bad thing. Many people never achieve what you have already at 33!! I am 37 and have no home I own, no husband or kids (haven't met the right person-unfortunately had to end an engagement a couple years ago). I rent an apt with my 2 cats... I mean in my perspective, be grateful you have a husband, kids, & a 2nd home to build!! & the means to do it!! It's very very expensive where I live (NY-Long Island) & really even with 2 incomes if I had a partner, it still would be difficult to build a home. I know it's easy for a stranger to say this and it sometimes isn't what I want to hear either when I'm down about something, but truly think about all that you really are blessed with & also be proud that you have worked so hard to be able to do it!! It's really inspiring to me actually that you built this life at 33 already! & that you share all of this great advice with the world!! Keep on rocking girl & you are doing great!! Look at this way, now you get to start fresh & have all the things you want in the new home too!! I really am so sorry for your loss though, I can't imagine losing all of my possessions that way nevermind the furbabies, that is horrible!! Just wanted to give you a different perspective, not trying to minimize your loss
I’m about to turn 40 have 3 nearly grown sons and we still rent (I’m in Australia) I agree that to have what she has is amazing and she should be proud of her achievements already at her age- I’ll eventually get to owning it’s my goal - my husband and I just started baby step 2 with Dave Ramsey recently so we are hopeful x
This will be a beautiful home, but I am so sorry you and your family have gone through these tragic losses. I have been feeling discontent in my current home. I tell myself I will be happy if I just have a bigger kitchen, another bedroom, x y z, etc. So thank you so much for sharing your story. As someone who has a medically complex child you think I would have my priorities straight and perspective right all the time. But I seemed to have forgotten as he has gotten to a better place health wise. So thank you for this reminder of what the important things are in life.

Love the Floorplan, colors and all your ideas. We are currently living with my in-laws to save money while looking for a home or land to build. We are in a different situation, my husband retired from the military and we moved to be closer to family, so different situation, but yet I don't want to be here forever because I want my in-laws to have their space and I want us to have our space and our dream house. However with the market today, the prices of homes are crazy, so we are considering building so we can get exactly what we want. You give me hope and I admire your strength rising from the trauma and building a new life for your family ❤

Your home design looks beautiful, and it's fantastic that you've already planned out your furnishings and colors to make sure you'll get what you want. Do you deserve this after what you've been thru? Absolutely. BUT, whatever your finances and prices are, don't make yourselves "house poor". I'm a senior, and retirement age sneaks up on us more quickly than we realize. Weddings, illnesses, deaths, college, and even just maintenance are all huge expenses. I've been grieving for you, too, since hearing about your loss the other day when your channel popped up. I would be devastated to lose my home, and I can only pray that angels were with your fur babies, but just be careful that you don't saddle yourselves with a debt load that will cause you further grief. You can still.have a beautiful home using mid-range appliances and furniture, etc. Only you know your specifics, but if it feels like a stretch financially, it will be. Just be careful.

Hi, I just quick wanted to mention that there is a vlogging family that I watch called we are the Murrays and when they moved into their current home it came with the cafe appliances that were only a few months old. After living there for almost a year I think the fridge went bad and they had a hwck of time with the company trying to get it replaced. And once they finally did the dishwasher broke. I thought I would share this so you can look more into it before making a final decision. Good luck with house plans and everything else in between.
