In 2014 I created my CZcams account "Tourist to Local" as a way to document my study abroad adventure in Chile. Over 6 years later, Tourist to Local has turned into a travel community on CZcams that is focused on sharing our favorite travel memories. Along with my husband, Martín from Bitácora de Viajero, we make bilingual videos providing tips and guides to create memorable and unique vacations. Travel is attainable, and our goal is to show you how you can travel too, whether it's for a weekend or a year!

Great video! We missed this year, but will be back down in several weeks. The personal ofrendas are very touching... the offerings are quite poignant. Enjoy!

Juliana, It is DÍA DE MUERTOS (Dead's day), like Father's Day. Don't say Dia de los Muertos. You wouldn't say Day of the Father.

James Buckley no it’s actually día de los muertos SHES correct!

@@jessicarmendoza In Mexico, right now, every sign on the street says: Dia de Muertos. No "Los". You are wrong.

@@jessicarmendoza James is right. It's just that here in the U.S. we literally translate Dia De Los Muertos. In Mexico they say Dia de Muertos.
But we understood what she said in the video.

I don’t find deathheads interesting whether in Mexico or where I live in the US. Lots of Harley-Davidson types here and others buy lots of stuff including tattoos. Also, it would seem this same death culture is popular in Mexico based on Police photos of crime scenes where mass murders have happened. I’ve also seen the same things highly featured in tattoos on Latin gang members.
The celebrity that the death culture gives to these images is unfathomable to me.
I guess I’m just not a fun person - I’d rather celebrate life.
    Thank you, nevertheless, for posting.
