the breakdown: 5 break Billiards - 10 fish Fishing - 6:4x Tanks Gold, about 10-15s off WR in 20 missions - like 8:3x Tanks 20 in the Platinum split but 21-30 went alright - only +10s on best Find Mii Plat for me - i PAUSED ONCE in Table Tennis Plat to recover the missed pattern - 333 Charge (didn't set up 334 score skip on NTSC lol) - first 14-0 Laser Hockey i've had in a WR - no Pose Miidi but was on a good pace score-wise - saved pretty much all of the time that Shooting Range NTSC 1.0 saves.
this was a long time coming, but i never expected to push it to a mid 58. this REALLY cannot go much lower. very grateful for everyone's support on this mission!

In all seriousness, this will take a Herculean effort to topple, and it'll likely go down in history as the most legendary Wii Play speedrun ever performed. This is long overdue, and I couldn't be happier to witness it live! GG on the obliteration of plats, and hopefully you can reclaim the medal sweep soon :)

it’s definitely one of the hardest sub hour categories in any game i know of. i really hope this gets more people running Wii Play and maybe even challenge some of the higher medal tier WRs!
This is in my top 5 of my favorite speedrun that i ever watched... and i just discovered wii play speedrun with this run

thank you! it would be great to see Salt cover this game, it has a very rich history especially in 2023-2024 where it really kicked off. Th3on3C is currently working on a world record progression for Plats tho, so i’m looking forward to that!

So satisfying to watch you do your thing man! Question: what kind of strategy is “Pose Miidi”?
hi, glad you enjoyed! Pose Miidi is a strat where you lose lives on Pose Mii level 2. if you lose a life the pattern repeats, and it’s a nicer pattern than most levels (6 bubbles left, then right, left, right, then lose a life). you only lose 10 perfect bonus points and you don’t have to lose all 3 lives at the end. it only saves a few seconds usually, but that’s the point WRs in medal categories are at now, it’s come a long way

i use dpad LMAO i know other runners that use nunchuk tho. nunchuk probably is more comfortable

why did you intentionally unalive on 1-1 of tanks? and what are the stipulations for platinum on it?
as for 31:36.. what exactly was the difference in the characters😭 i always sucked at this. and i watched you do it and i still don’t know what the difference is
good question! so in Tanks, if you get hit on the same frame as the final enemy tank, you both lose a life and clear the mission. it’s called FPD and saves 8.5 seconds by not needing to lose that life at the end. (it’s not worth doing on the gold medal because we don’t need to burn lives there)
if you can do it on the last mission (30 for platinum) it saves 20 seconds, but only Bronze WR has this rn.
in Find Mii, the miis are all looking the same direction except the odd ones out which are looking the other way. the correct miis have a larger hitbox tho so i managed to guess quicker there. hope this helps!
i used to suck at Find Mii too, only managed to get silver before adding distinct miis like the ? face, and knowing about the big hitboxes. there’s lots of small strats like that in this game!
@@SMMidi crazy strats, reminds me of time skips in zombies. i just recently learned of the wii sports golf strat where you can play the ball from the water. awesome these games still have a community especially now in the golden age of content

yooo thanks Ursi! i modded my wii u to use Gecko which just boots games by ignoring the region lock. it saves 10s in Shooting Range and 4s in loads, so this would’ve been 58:xx without it, but still helped push it down a lot. and i bought the disc off ebay
@@SMMidi I’m disappointed you didn’t buy a NTSC wii :P but really I’m glad there’s a way to use that bug on PAL consoles, 999 looks so easy with it hah
if someone buys me an NTSC wii u i’ll use it, until then i’ll save my money and use this way thanks :p
Theon got 999 as soon as i started doing runs with NTSC, you have to be super fast on targets but it’s humanly possible
