His money gains have been consistant and never jumping huge amounts.       Or just do what the constitution says. The acting members of congress only get compensation based on their wages from their private jobs (Whether it is a minimum wage or a CEO). It states they only get paid in equal value to the amount they would have lost while actively preforming their duties. Otherwise, they are to be doing their private jobs like the rest of us. Only thing extra is the travel/medical expenses while in office.

That doesn't include whether or not they have a private business that they have back in their Home Districts, State, or Territory that they represent. That doesn't include any additional "perks" that are allowed for their Congressional job. In fact, one of the "perks" that they have are free air junkets flying on U.S. Air Force Transports for their "fact finding missions" abroad. I agree with "jorgebrew" for the need for "Term Limits." If it's good enough to "Term Limit" a President, then it's good enough for Members of Congress. People are getting sick and tired of 'Career Politicians.'

      Get the story correct. They were all paid the living wage for a regular days work. However, some did extra hours that pushed their per hour wage less than 15$ hence, once he found out, he put an end to people working extra hours so that everyone gets 15$ per hour.

I remember I was an apprentice when the shady politics representative of the union came around to our class, to tell us what a bright idea it was to vote blue for the union, and on issues blue disagrees with us, like gun control or other issues, just donate our money to those causes. So take our money to do stuff we don't like, but it's ok because we can take more of our money to try and off-set what they spent. He said all this with a straight face, and nobody laughed. Every single union worker in America that doesn't have a Democrat bumper sticker, is a republican and just isn't allowed to have a red one.

      Doctors get it from both sides. Unions don't want you as you are considered management or a "have" and by the nature of your job you are highly skilled and able to personally negotiate based upon those skills. Society can not have you guys unionized as we require you at your very best (unionization would corrode this), and doctors can not be forced to strike due to the essential nature of the profession. So yea, it's a challenging profession but trust me there are plenty every bit as tough

      My guy, all love here, I'm not trying to win. But...there is a big philosophical economical and social difference between socialism, and democratic socialism. It is absolutely compatible in a socially democratic structure to be that AND a millionaire. He attacks asymmetrical wealth, in 2023 that means individuals with 10s of billions (not millions). People have different takes on life, whether its faith, economic policy etc...we're never going to get anywhere if we reduce someone else's position to simple inaccurate icons such as "socialism" or "communism".

    The best leader training I have ever received - and there was a lot - is no doubt the Union based courses. Of all of the courses they were the only ones that promoted cooperation between leadership and employees. All other courses took the viewpoint of the wiser towards the more stupid, which no doubt always leads directly to a catastrophe. All people are experts and all people need respect and if you have a perfect enterprise the leader is no more than a guy performing service to the employees 99% of the time. Rest of the time he/she is occupied about decisions on equal valued options as to turn either to the right or to the left on a given context, that you can't leave to a group of people, because it would take days and months to reach a decision. That's why I became an excellent leader that benefitted both the company owners and the workers.

      Yes and no. It depends.
      I've worked at my company for 17 years.
      I'm ready to retire soon at age 62...the earliest I can...I will accept the lower social security because I'm no longer able to do the work of three or four young men like I used to.
      I am no f***ing slacker.
      But after 17 years... I only get paid a couple dollars more per hour than new workers.
      I could complain. They haven't busted their asses for years as I did to earn what they make.
      If we had had a union... I would be making far more... Not because I can outwork them now...but because I did my f***ing time.
      It's not unfair to reward a long term dedicated employee that has earned their better income from years of hard work.
      Union or no union.
      But firing some old worker that has dedicated many years to make a company successful and to make his bosses wealthy...because some cowboy is younger...(and most likely will leave within two years for greener pastures)..and more able to do physical work?????
      That is shameful. And I'd never work for such an asshole or recommend anyone else to work for them either.
      Those are kind of people that give companies bad reputations.
      And brand reputation...is everything.

      If you are Bernie's age, and you've managed to work hard and be relatively good at what you do, then it's pretty darned normal to be a "millionaire" - if you're in the suburbs, you're firmly middle class. It's for this reason that Bernie's been talking about billionaires and not millionaires for quite some time now. I still say he's got more integrity in his little finger than every republican and 95% of democrats (also in the pocket of corporations and billionaires) all put together.

    I was in a union ILWU for about 6yrs before getting into the Department and my former union president was indicted and found guilty of stealing money from the union. He did go to federal prison. Later another union president for another local UPW was also convicted and sent to prison. This was the norm in my state for many years. Seems like these union presidents were doing a lot of things with members monies.
