Unfortunately media has warped our minds. "Stop or I'll shoot" is not a thing. You can't shoot someone for trying to get away. He was locked out of that car; so there was no threat to the driver. This guy belongs in jail for sure, but he doesn't belong in a casket. I don't like sticking up for criminals, but we've been stuck with a generation of officers that think they're Dirty Harry.

The criminal could have broke the window out the way he was hanging on it. Definitely a threat .
