I love mine too! I put new beadlocks, weighted the inner front wheels and added Pit Bull Growler tires. That extra traction and weight up front helped a lot. I also put on a Honcho bumper, weighted it and pushed it in real deep to greatly improve attack angle without the bumper getting in the way. Doubled it's crawling abilities. Have Fun, Great stuff, you two are awesome together!
I just picked one of these up today. I found it at my LHS & had watched this video a couple days ago & this thing looks even better in person! Charging the battery now cant wait to try it out! Thanks for the great content. I feel a boat in my future and I just started watching your boat reviews lol.
Nice! I love my Ascender K10! Out of my 10 crawlers my Ascender is still my favorite, its heavily modded but stock was still great. Its not too different from a SCX10 but what is unique is the smaller pumpkin on the axles (the middle portion of the axle) giving it a bit more ground clearance but this has an unintended effect of adding lots of torque twist (which you can visualize as a drag car launching, it will lift the front left tire first as the forces on the axle twist the vehicle as it accelerates) due to the size of the gears and gear reduction. A sway bar can fix that but its a DIY affair where you use a wraith front sway bar. The other unique thing about the Ascender is the battery tray/mount which is mounted and pivots on the front axle, this places some extra weight up front which is very beneficial for climbing abilities, this mount is actually banned in hardcore competitions.
I've watched many of these videos and generally enjoy them because I'm curious about what's out there in the rc world. But I must say... These two often say some cringe worthy things that makes it clear they aren't true RC purists.
I just said the same thing in my comment, which I’m really surprised Nate didn’t know this after doing so many reviews on rc’s I think he really knows more about drones, something I don’t know anything about

Once again you guys made RC magic. I enjoy to see all the fun you guys have and how much positive energy surrounds the whole experience of trying out a new toy. My most sincere good thoughts and congratulations on Abbey's pregnancy. Can't wait to see JR unboxing and and playing the new toys of the future. Great looking truck with good performance. I like the fact that you allways test on the same spot, as a viewer you can really tell the difference in performance that way. Greetings from Curacao.
Glad you like that Peter :-) Yeah that's one reason we like visiting this spot, as we've seen many trucks fail at this hill so it establishes a base line for something exceptional like this. Have a great day!
You deserve it guys, I've watched the channel from the beginning and the way I perceived the channel has changed a few times but its always a positive uplifting experience and awesome RC's aswel 😊😊😊 I hope you go forever.. Thanks so much😊😊
You guys should build a crawling course for this truck! I bet I would be fun to build I'm doing one for me and my son. Thanks for your honest opinions on these RC s it really helps me make my decision. Love you guys show
Also the Suburban uses the full length battery instead of the shorty battery like the c-10 uses. I already had 3 2200 mah batteries for my airplane and the truck runs a very long time on one of those. It’s great😀
Nice rig. Now you're playing my game, I don't care how fast they can go, I always want to know "how slow can it go." I too am a big fan of the Honcho. I've been eyeballing and wanting a Honcho since the original one, then they discontinued it. They fairly recently released the SCX10 II model and I'm drooling again. I think this Vaterra Chevy looks better than the Honcho though. First thing I'd probably do is get some beadlocks for it. I've always liked the flatbed look and have been planning to cut the bed off my ECX Barrage gen1 and build a wooden flatbed for it. The D-rings on the bumpers are for hooking tow straps or chains too. So when you go up a hill and Nathan can't make it up with his new truck you just hook up a tow strap and pull him up :>
Love the look of that truck :-) Way to go Abby, great choice. PS just letting you guys know i don't comment on all the videos but still watch and enjoy them all ;-)
Over the next couple days we've got more trailing style of videos coming out, so you should be set :-) Appreciate the feedback / requests for video styles Chad, have a great day!

Good morning RcSaylors & the RC Family! OMG, what an exciting 1/8 scale crawler & great review (of course)! WOW, Abby, I think every roll, of yours, landed wheels down! Nate wasn't as lucky, but drove well. Very fun to watch the different challenges & the close-up shots were awesome!!! Abby, you're still the Queen of "Terrafirma" Vehicle Driving:-! Can't wait for the "trailing vid!" Woop-Woop, oh-yeah, bring it on! Lol! Take super care, my friends! JP
Hello John!! So good to hear from you :-) Yes, this truck performs exceptionally well and we are so happy to have this thing! Very excited to bring everyone along on the trailing video :-)

nice vid. glad to see your doing more reviews on higher end rc's. And abby looks like it's getting close to that special day. congrad's to the both of you.
Oooh, sorry but I'm a little chatty today. I have watched your channel for about 2 or so years now, and I love rc. Seen all kinds of rc's you awesome 2(3) have reviewed. I don't mind the cheaper or smaller branded products, in fact I have one or two of those as well as the bigger brands but you often pay more for the bigger brands because of the quality, support, research and development (and advertising) etc. your reactions show though that great quality rc's go a long way and there is a lot to be said for them. I'm not a label or brand person because if something is good it's good, if it puts a smile on my face, doesn't break every 5 seconds, then I'm a happy man. That said I've only ever mostly owned land vehicles as that is what I enjoy. Love this crawler even though I've never had one.........but maybe it's on the cards now.......if my wife says it's ok, lol. Happy wife happy life!
No problem Ryan, happy to hear from you! I know we filter a LOT of bad products on our channel, but that is sort of the point with that. Hopefully we are saving people from buying the bad stuff. One of our favorite moments is when we find something for cheap, that sort of just rocks! So we share that with everyone on CZcams :-) We agree, you generally get what you pay for, but in some cases that isn't true. I've paid nearly $1,000 for drones before that in my opinion aren't worth $5 so we love saving people money on that end of the spectrum as well. As long as you're having fun, that is the main thing. You said it so well. This truck, yes it's a bit more expensive, but it does perform SO WELL, and it's actually worth that slightly higher price tag. Have a great day Ryan, and thanks for chatting with us :-) -Nate
i have the vaterra Bronco and that truck is a beast! i run that truck in water, mud, snow anything and its still going with the original parts! in Quebec Canada, vaterra are not really love but for me its the best truck i have… only one thing dont forget to put grease on those diffs! Enjoy your truck! i guess you also know that you can make that truck a blazer by stretching the adjustable frame….

That being said be kind and play nice i do subscribe to this channel and after watching that Vattera I’m probably going to buy one for a friend for X-mas. Good job RC Saylors!
Really great review, showing the fun that can be had with a bit of a hill and a trail truck. Me and my buddy regularly walk 3 miles plus around a MTB downhill track and have a bundle of fun trailing/crawling. If you want to review an awesome budget trail truck / crawler, try the WL Toys 10428B! Modified mine into a beast ☺
I think we actually have the standard, non "B" version of that truck. It'd be so much fun to mod, but even out of the box we really enjoyed it. Thanks a lot for tuning in Owen!
Now thats sooo cool! Great review, way to go abbster! I kind of thought that for the price tag it should be brushless, but then again.. Its just frickin awesome so for a crawler, brushless wouldn't make much sense. I did like the reverse up hill parts. I also would have liked to see a high low switch, just because.

Wow! My first truck was a 1972 C10. Drove it all through college, sits retired out on my dads land to this day. Great truck Abby!
Such a great looking truck. Jealous that you got the drive the Real Thing Dustin. Have a great day!
Just FYI, the “35T” on the motor means it is a 35 turn motor, not a 35 tooth pinion.
I thought the same when he said that, it made me cringe.
