Hey man, how long does it take to get in to Chicago downtown on the train, and is it expensive?
The express train from Downers Grove takes less than 30min - unlimited ride monthly pass is about $196 and a single ride is about $7. Would it be helpful to you if I did a video about the different train routes? What areas are you considering living in/commuting from? Thanks for watching!
@@AustinWeiss I'm moving to Downers grove to work in October, my job will be housing me so I'm not sure exactly where in the town, but I'm sure I'll want to catch the train into downtown at least once a week, I didn't know you could get in so fast though, it would be interesting but don't inconvenience yourself, this video was very helpful and I've subscribed, thanks.

I love Downers Grove & it is really nice. Been here about 11 years now.
We have houses, going back to 1800's.
The taxes are too high.
All my kids went to Downers Grove schools from elementary thru high school. The schools are awesome, so I have no idea where you’re getting your numbers. I’ve seen other school districts and wouldn’t want my kids going anywhere else.

85% self identifying as non hispanic white... you characterize that as not diverse and therefore, one of the downsides. what percentage and proportions of race distribution in the demographics would constitute a 'pro' versus a 'con?' what are the right numbers?
The right numbers is subjective to the neighborhood and lifestyle you want for yourself and your family. When compared to many other suburbs and neighborhoods in Chicagoland, DG is not as diverse. Thanks!
Yes, disappointed to see this metric become a talking point. Diversity is fine but this is a cave in to the cancel culture.
when its more of a equal proportion it would be the right numbers. even 50% would be better.. 85% of one race is not diverse. its mostly an area with all white. Some people prefer there to be more diversity.
Thank you for mentioning that. You see...Downers Grove, like many others in Stupage County, is stuck in a time warp (and a fantasy world), when it comes to racial/ethnic makeup. I have read stories about the police and alderman, giving the 15% a hard time. The snobs that live there, make it even worse. I bet most of the white folks are Anglo (of some sort).
340k for an old home is a Con for me, not a Pro. And lack of diversity is a Pro for me, not a Con, lol.
