Also it’s kinda like comparing SummerSlam or Mania to a regular show, DON is basically the second biggest show for Aew while KOTR is a Saudi show, honestly it just shows how far we’ve come with WWE bc Saudi shows used to be glorified live events lol.
I would say DON was better as it was very fun and chaotic. I don’t like to compare PPV’s Especially since these were 2 completely different shows doing completely different things. I do think KAQOTR was a good set up show that previewed the next few months. I might be biased since I attended double or nothing but I think i would have the same thoughts on it if I watched it from home. (Also the reason the IWGP eliminator match wasn’t for the title is very clearly for company political reasons I thought that was very obvious)

@@therandom58 Mmmm yea, like he talks about the Jericho vortex, which Jim said before in the podcast. Jericho also has made other references. I think the promos are ok.
It's difficult to compare both because clearly AEW value Double or Nothing way more than WWE values King of the Ring. DoN is top tier PPV, so to speak, so having a stacked card in it is fine by me. With that said, if we want to compare both anyway, I honestly feel that DoN is a clear winner here, that's despite that clear issues that I saw in that PPV, from pacing, to matches that simply didn't deserve to be in the card, etc. I ultimately rate a PPV based on how many goosebumps/nail-biting moments it gives me. I honestly didn't feel anything while watching King of the Ring, I was enjoying every match but I was never on the edge of my seat. The card being fairly predictable didn't help much. Liv/Becky was the only match that I felt wasn't completely predictable, but I just never really cared for it because I felt the build up was poor. Meanwhile, regarding DoN, there are a handful of goosebump moments that I felt were tailormade for my wrestling tastebuds: Gangrel coming back to feed my nostalgia, Copeland jumping from cage and almost shattering his legs, the entire Anarchy in the Arena match but most importantly the beginning with the crowd singing along for "The Final Countdown", Mercedes beating Willow and her being unable to contain her emotions, MJF returning and cutting a great promo. The more a product creates memories, the better chances this product will continue to have a loyal fanbase. That is why WWE has so many loyal fans, WrestleMania is a hub for wrestling memories, and so are other PPVs. AEW is already on the way to doing the same with their PPVs. These memories will last longer than AEW itself, and I honestly feel myself in a place where I can't skip AEW PPVs for the foreseeable future just because of how entertaining they are. Was DoN too long? Yes, absolutely. Was DoN entertaining and memorable? No doubt.

I think AEW definitely took a small shift to 7.5/10 last night but I mostly only enjoy the mayhem of that main event. KQOTR is kinda a 8/10 PLE for me, it’s nothing bad or too great but definitely not terrible. Not to mention it was shorter.
If aew would of cut 4 matches from the main show (trios championship, cassidy match, ftw triple threat, and moxley match), it would of been perfect. Those matches should of been tv main events, whether if they were on Dynamite, Rampage, or collision. But since they were on the show wwe won this weekend for me.

@@pleaseshutup7053 Whenever I watch WWE PLEs nowadays, there's levels definitely. Backlash heavily focuses on in ring psychology to fill in for the lack of storytelling, Kotr is a classic tournament pairing two stars who would never encounter each other in a fight, and more in ring performance. MITB is a focus of high octane spots and star power to be the main focus of the PLE, and SummerSlam is genuine overall fun and feels like a party they want you to be a part of, even if that party tends to always have a sour moment. Big PLEs later on like Elimination Chamber and Royal Rumble are considered the beginning of the big stories or the beginning of the endgame to stories on going, with the potential crowing of the next champions. Survivor Series is now all story based matches considering the war games matches, specifically the men's told stories, while the women's told stories but also really good in ring work. And of course, WM is just a fun party to go to with over booked nonsesne

@@judeelaman1902definitely counts that is amazing and some days got double the shows. Only if the wrestling was good it would be memorable 😢
I thought both were mid
King and queen of the ring was boring and the other hand double or nothing was a lot fun to watch AEW is getting lil better now
AEW Double or Nothing for me.
Miro is currently injured and going through a divorce. But I agree he should leave AEW, inconsistent booking aside his wrestling style just doesn't fit AEW in general.
Your DoN review wasn't as good as KOTR but I understands since you don't follow AEW weekly.
Sooplex the orange cassidy and Trent this is there third match and Trent won the first two really I think. I like double or nothing and the learning tree yeah is just Chris pretending to be a good guy mentoring people but I think your thought was too.
I didn’t know Trent won the first match I thought Cassidy won
Roman Reigns did the same thing @07:50
Don was better than King of the ring
While not as entertaining as Cornette, but Sooplex is quickly becoming my go to for reviews.
Cornette entertaining hahahahahahahahahahaha
As AEW fan, i give King and Queen of the Ring a win. Double or nothing already has 3 predictable winners and most shocking return of AEW history.
is it bad to have predictable resolutions? or do you want swerve for swerve sake ?
@@beckdosev1053 nothing wrong with predictable as long as it makes sense. But to call anarchy in the arena predictable is wild
Moxley is borderline about to feel like Jericho to me. Idk what politics or something that he pulls in the back but lets think, when was the last time he took a clean finish? I expected the same, give Takesta the win and then he loses later. I feel maybe Moxley didn't want to take the loss.
I think the last time he took a clean finish was brawl out lol
@@pleaseshutup7053 Case and point tonight, the crowd was turning on him. Another useless eliminator match. Having Rocky work as the heel, no one was buying it. The Rocky chants instead of Moxley. Getting tired of him.
@@TK-nj7qx that’s hilarious they are booing him. I think this is a failure on the booker. Mox has been the same character since he debuted for aew it’s time for a change
He took clean pin from jay white during continental tournament.
Kotr I personally enjoyed more probably because i watched it with my mum and it was the perfect length. While aew i didn't and half way through it got repetitive. Every match had at least 4 false finishes. It gets a bit much especially for a 4 hour show. Since i live in the uk the show ran over 5 am. Aew had great moments and spots though. Kotr was better
I think AEW definitely took a small shift to 7.5/10 last night but I mostly only enjoy the mayhem of that main event. KQOTR is kinda a 8/10 PLE for me, it’s nothing bad or too great but definitely not terrible. Not to mention it was shorter.
KOTR was cheaper so it's better 😂😂😂. Honestly i loved it
If aew would of cut 4 matches from the main show (trios championship, cassidy match, ftw triple threat, and moxley match), it would of been perfect. Those matches should of been tv main events, whether if they were on Dynamite, Rampage, or collision. But since they were on the show wwe won this weekend for me.
Revolution
Dynasty
DON
Forbidden Door
All In/ All Out
Wrestledream
Full Gear
World's End
Seems like a lot but we will get 3 WWE PLE's before All In and the following week will be bash in Berlin.
Tell me you all don't watch anything but WWE without telling me you don't watch anything but WWE.
LOL @ comments section.
North American style wrestling isnt the be all end all.
If you have no clue what im talking about, you're not a fan.
First
Don wins
Both shows were very good but AEW moped the floor with wwe when it came down to match quality
When a Saudi Show is being compared to AEWs second biggest PPV, that just shows the quality for KaQotR that Triple H gave. Obviously, I admit DoN was great, better than KaQotR by a sliver simply due to the fact that MJF came back.
All aew ppvs feel the same level it’s not like wwe where there are levels to their big shoes
And of course, WM is just a fun party to go to with over booked nonsesne
it was only compared bc it was on the same weekend lmao quit the glazing.
DON was better. Triple H adding that title stipulation made it mean something, ither than that it was a glorified raw
I don’t even think these shows should even be compared. AEW don is an A show and the wwe kotr is a B show. So you would expect don to out due a B show like kotr
you're an aew hater lowkey bro
He has a clear negative view of them.
@@pleaseshutup7053 Yep!!!....if you are going to review something it has to be unbiased.....well at least you said based on his opinion...but the truth is Aew had better matches then king and queen of the ring
@@pleaseshutup7053 And the fact that wwe's main event was logan paul a champion going up against another champion and it was only one title on the line just sucks....especially seeing as the whole match just came out of no where @sooplex just do better in your reviews bro
Let's be real. AEW double or nothing better than King and queen of the ring.
The length of the show was great. The AEW shows aren't always 5 hours.
What about the 5 hour Wrestlemania shows black tp back?
AEW AEW AEW Your analysis about the two shows is just nonsense and it is just a fan immediately to wwe👎
AEW will never win a single point from me until they stop mentioning WWE in everything they do.
Makes them look pathetic, clout chasing, and worse of all nothing but the second choice. If they wanna be treated as either an equal to or more than wwe they should focus on their own shit.
Anyways great review and I agree with most of what you said, except for best match, since osprey vs strong was so obvious from the start it ruined the whole match for me
Not a single AEW star said anything about wwe except Mjf name drops vince
Both companies do it tbh and it shouldn’t really matter
@@BaekhyunJ WWE doesnt name drop them, sure i can give you that they mention "secondary promotions" or "the grind" but never by name. Mercedes Said it, Osprey Said it, hell Tony Khan said it with a Weinstein joke.
@@WWECodyEra I mean sure, we can just act deaf, blind and stupid like you i guess?
why are you actually getting your feelings hurt on the behalf of an entire company? they brush it off and so should you. grow up man
I'm a day one aEw fan 🪭 ( King 👑 Queen of the Rings.. was a better show) and I'm a Day One aew fan 🪭.. just letting Mercedes 1st match so long & drop off on willow.. Willow and Wardlow.. are eq..
Anyway MJF was the best thing on Don hands down!!
your goofy n obv not an day one AEW fan! That ppv was incredible from start to finish only bad things was Cassidy shouldn't have won but straight banger.
@@luwop9 I am & The insults are goofy. It was very good. Length and purpose is what had me.. The better Matches are on D.o.n. The feeling and continued theme goes to kor...but the pre show and a 5 hour show is impossible to keep it important and must see..
mjF is 100% The best thing from the event.. his presence alone Will re ignite the fanBase!!
For example if this was any other sport most fans see what could & should work..
When games were 5 hours long everyone who was a real fan spoke up!! The posers would install & stuff..
As a fanbase.
#1 we want change
#2. we are together right or wrong
#3. We as The first rule. We hold the owners accountable.. ( in MLB the league as well)
Fake 👎 fans take what is given!
Fake 👎 fans love Tony Kahn
Come on a press conference where it was another Tony Kahn forum therapy session..
Plus sooplex is the most fairest person in this space..
He was honest!!
Also I'm not a 20 something cult of Tony Kahn glazer.. I'm a pro wrestling fan that never watches the E. Time reasons and I started out as a wcw fan.. for 11 years
Then TNA and Roh.. then watched & loved aew
I understood The length then .
Showcase the new talent bring in surprise and connect characterers like Wardlow and Willow.. in which they did but dropped Ball 🏀 on both!!!!
aEw gave US Great storylines and most of everything went through Cody and Tony. We could ignore The freaks that don't know how to be fans.
That first double or nothing promo to this Day was the best Cody promo ever..
I watch.. I like.. I don't blindly support..
I stick with My fanbase..
I didn't really feel anything for King of the ring however it was layed out great and situations that gave us instant answers..
I rarely see WWE
I only have time for dynamite 🧨
But once Cody left..
I did not run to Cody..
I stayed ea Andi every week and there's been so much bad lately..
Undisputed was disappointing..
The Continental classic was great!
Life minus ➖ mjF was bleak..
...
It's not about story..
It's about character development ( Like MJF) and The storyline that evolved..
If The characters don't make us feel.. people Will not grab the story..
This is All about how to be a fan 🪭
We love, we hate. We vent for change!!
So when things makes sense and they listen..
We All win..
Goofy follower calling a Day One aew fan 🪭 goofy... LoL Now that's goofy 😝😝
@@jasonmartinez3902 bro ain ask for u to write me an essay😂 but nah fr I love aew and I'm a day one fan as well. I grew up on WWE but fell out of love with it cuh of bad bookin n horrible storylines n all the weird mess that was goin on, AEW reignited my love and passion for wrestling. So I understand and hear u but DON Faso was day better show
@@luwop9Your right Don faso was a better show than then Tony Kahn garbage 🗑️ show.. your still a 🤡
@@luwop9 agree watched and enjoyed them both its ok to like AEW and WWE without people in the comments harassing you its ok to prefer one company without shiitting on the other company I liked Double or nothing more but king and queen wasn't bad to be fair respect your opinion I only watch WWE big events mainly i know this one wasn't but hey were wrestling fans
KQOTR was neater. DON I feel like I saved £20 not buying this time
