Our Day With Roger

- Back in February, we spent the day with Roger Bagley. Upon arriving at the Santa Monica curbs, we were blasted with possibly the strongest wind we’ve ever experienced, so we assumed our plan of spending the day on the beach skating the curbs would need a rethink. Nonetheless, Roger wanted to have a torture session, and who are we to stop him from that? Afterwards we went back to the Nine Club studio where we got a little tour and talked about some good times and some bad times. We’re happy to hear that Roger is feeling good and optimistic about the present and the future.

Thank you everyone for all the love, it's truly overwhelming!
Love you Rog!
Love ya Rog , From Ole Buddy BonezWestOz 💚🔥🤙🛹
@@villagepsychic9750 ❤
Thank you for being real.
You are the best part of the show
Roger is a gift to the world of skateboarding.
Roger Bagley. I made my first comment before I finished watching your interview. You’re good bro!! I’m sorry you went through that stress, those dark times. You are through it now!! I think you’re very cool and one of the best skateboarding ambassadors. I’m impressed with your talent on the board and with the camera and your values are straight. Word! Live!!🛹❤️💯
ALSO- I relate to Roger’s reactions to what 9club guests say a lot of the time. 😆
Kudos to Roger for opening up about his life and experiences. Even if we don't often express it, the skate community appreciates what they do with the show. Glad to see him in a better place!
Roger, we love you! Wish we told you that more when you were going through the shit. We love you man!
Shotout Roger for talking abt it. This helps so many people. Roger thank you man, you are inspiring and a great person
Another great one. It was really brave of Roger to share his experience in such an honest way. Much respect to him and wishing the best for him going forward.
Thank you for still being here with us Rog. In those dark moments please come back to this comment and realize that Tomorrow is always a new day, and there is always a way through the darkness.
Shout outs to Rog for being so open and vulnerable. We love you brother.
This unexpectedly hit me really, really, really hard. Stay Strong 💪
You stay strong too man. We are all here together.
This was great Roger. Killing those curbs. Miss the old Boston days. Glad you are happy again brother. Have been in dark places and appreciate you sharing. -doug
I always wondered why Rog wasn't on many episodes anymore. Glad to hear that he's in a better space now and happier.
roger gave me $10 for gas when i really needed it once. legend
That got real so quick, but it needed to happen. Happy that Roger and Nine Club are still going strong ❤
@mark twain they’ve stopped doing the experience, the interviews are carrying on
Roger is seriously the best dude. I really preferred him on the show but hey do what makes you happy. Thanks for everything back in 95-99
Everyone says that about everyone is skating. Ah he’s the best dude ever! Not saying he’s not cool, but you don’t know him. I’d say that about someone in close with instead of a random.
@@marley1995 I do know him. He ran positive in boston for years.
@@marley1995 wack response brother
@@jasraboin love that man, I hope to meet him one day. He is such a gift to skateboarding
Shotout Roger, truly the underrated mvp of the nine club. Plus he rips
cant say how good this was
Much respect Rog. Takes a lot of balls to share such a personal experience with the world.
Been a 9 clubber since day 1. Rogg opening up like that, and welling up... Made me "cut onions" too... So much love to our ol' buddies, and to be a part of the family, since I didn't have much of one growing up... Stumpy for OBOTY 2023 ❤69, 🧈🧈🧈! 💎🥚🍳 Hard eggs
Rog could start his own podcast with a little more serious tone. I love how much he knows about skateboarding and would love to hear more !
Doesn’t matter what you skate, how you skate, what you wear, or what you listen to, you like Roger. He’s a skaters skater.
Roger is the truth!
Fuckin love you Roger. Much love from Scotland big man. Thank you for this Village Psychic
I have always been team Rog. I very much enjoyed the nine club for the first 2 years but after that it became a bit too...idk...I'm not gonna say "the happy and always positive club" because that's a good thing in many ways but...They just stayed in their "let's never offend anyone and everything is amazing always" lane which...Idk...That's just not how life is for skateboarders or anyone and it just got kind of corny and repetitive to me. I respect the 9 club but it was not for me anymore. Rog tho...He just always came across as a real mofo. Hard working. As transparent as he could be given all the circumstances and just a cool individual. It WAS really brave of Roger to share his experience in such an honest way to echo isoundinfo's comment. Keep doing your thang Rog. Stay in touch with how you are feeling and go with your intuition. I appreciate you. And lastly he's one hard working cat. Props for it all.
From a fellow Massachusetts skater who quit long ago. You are a legend. Thanks for the inspiration. Wishing you peace and happiness!
RIP Ben i miss you, thank you for talking to Roger
I miss seeing Roger on the Nineclub. I find him the most relateable of the bunch. Good to see him happy.
love roger. i hadn’t watched the nine club for ages so was surprised when i saw he wasn’t behind the desk anymore. stoked to see he’s doing better
Roger, you are already "rich" in so many ways. ⚡️Stand Strong⚡️
Appreciate you being vulnerable Roger. Much love. 🙏💜🛹
I don't someone would so dislike being on camera. Roger was killing it cuz he ask some of the most hard questions.
We love you rog❤
Roger is a relatable guy. I only tuned into the experience because of him. I hope he has a long successful career in skateboarding no matter where he is and what he’s doing. Roger is the truth.
We love you Rog!
I love The Nine Club. Been a member for years now. I really learn a lot about pro skaters and the industry in general.
This is hard to watch. Roger was the only part of the 9 Club I enjoyed with the exception of certain guests. His background knowledge and relaxed attitude really added a lot to show. I wonder if the 9 Club playing it too safe to stay advertiser friendly is part of the reason for his mental struggles. Seems there were times he wanted to say things but couldn't. Nice to see the footage of him skating the curbs in the wind though. Good video.
That’s some real shit, dude. Thanks so much for fighting through and sharing. You may have saved someone’s life by talking about it, for real.
I can say I was in a really dark place when I watched this and it helped pull me up and shift my perspective when a lot else wasn't.
Oh man didn't know Roger was going through so much. More power and support to him! Really like him on the show and the show in general and really like the beginning of this video of him skating.
Rog is an awesome person. This took some balls. Best of luck sir!
Roger is the greatest. We all human and need to remember that. We gotta let all of it out once and awhile. Its the only way to reconnect with ourselves and our inner spirit. Right on Rog!
This clip is the best thing that came out of the whole 9 club show. Thank you.
Camera rolls, someone who speaks openly someone who truly listens, some simple encouragement. Great interview of a great person ❤
Your the best Rodger. I’m happy your still around and hope you have nothing but good times from here on out 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Glad you gave him an outlet to get shit off his chest. Rad dude. Also, I could watch him skate curbs all day.
fuck i needed that one. much love Roger.
Really good to see the open honesty from Roger here, makes me appreciate the 9club even more!
You matter! You make a huge difference to those that know and love you but you also matter all of us that are getting to know you and cherish what you guys do
Thanks for being so real here, Roger - that's powerful stuff to share.
You are the man Rog, keep on killing it
I had no idea the background story of Roger and his mental health. I have always been team Rog and I still am. I love the show and miss him being in front of the camera but I am happy to hear he is getting in a better space. We all just want to be happy and rich. I wish him the best of luck getting to fulfill that dream.
I fucking love this dude. Always have. Always will! A skateboarders spirit never grows old!
Always love hearing Rog’s encyclopedic knowledge on the show. Glad he’s doing better now.
Rog is the text book curb tender 💪🏽
Absolutely!
This was rad. Thank you. Rog rules and I'm glad he's still here with us.
❤
Proud of you Roger! I’ve been with you guys since the Kelly Hart 30 min episode, I believe that was episodes 1. Stoked to see the person you have become 5 years later!

From One Step Beyond, Viva La Bam, Nine Club Nd everything else ME AND A BUNCH OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL.+++

Thank you as well V.P.+++
Respect to Rog. Always thought of him as the grumpy dude on the show but it’s eye-opening to hear about what he was going through. Thanks for hanging around Rog and I hope you know you are the linchpin of the nine club!
Lovely video. Would have never expected the tone to shift so heavily based on the intro but I'm glad he's open and talking about his struggles with alcoholism and mental health. Present Roger is definitely in a better place
I love you Roger!
Thanks for sharing Roger, recently went through a similar experience and was hospitalized for a couple days. Glad you’re well in your heart & mind.
Much love to you my friend. ❤
Same to you man, we are glad you are here. Thanks for sharing your experience. Stay strong
@@theramplocal Thank you Jon :)
I’m really glad I came across this vid. Rog was always my favorite guy on the show! Being vulnerable and speaking truth is everything this world needs right now. I’ve been in that dark place more than once, and this video gave me 1,000x more respect for Roger! Quitting drinking helped me a lot, and so stoked to see it’s helping him too. He’s lookin fresh and clear! New Rog is the man!!!!
Thanks for speaking up and prioritizing your needs roger. So easy to get caught up on what others want.
Stay strong Roger we love the great energy and vibes you put out and you have done so much for skateboarding 💯 thank you
I love Roger, so happy he's in a better place now
We love you Roger. ❤ do what you live to do and love to do
Dude I love Rog. He was (and still is in his own way) my favorite part of 9 club. Had no idea things were so rough on him. Goes to show you never know who may need help. The most love to this dude!
We all love Roger now even if we never met. Big hug guys.
Rog is the best thing about nine club - his knowledge is invaluable
Preciate everything you've done for skateboarding. All your behind the scenes work and efforts NEED to be recognized.
Stay strong Rog!!!

Mad love for Roger!
Roger, I'm glad you're still here.
Roger, your a gem of a human and I appreciate you. Thank you for always being real, I was in that spot several years ago. I got help from my local VA, im way better and still skating the best I can. Much love Rog !!!
Amazing interview, I remember Roj from ZT way back in Beantown, grew up in NH and moved to JP when I was 17 to skate as much as I could. It’s relieving to know that others suffer like I have and find a way to continue and prosper. Big hugs to the whole crew.
So glad Roger did what he needed to keep going! He rules.
I always liked him on the show but if he's happier behind the scenes that's great. I'm glad he's doing better!
Absolutely incredible episode ❤
This was a great piece! Thank you Roger for being real with us. I think many of us can relate to different parts of this story. You're a huge talent, and I'll quietly cheer you on from now on.

I know the world is going to shit, but thank you Roger for saying what you have gone through. Someone including myself needed to hear that. WE LOVE YOU! Stay strong everyone! It's okay to be not okay.
I'm so sorry brother. I feel you're pain! Please keep pushing
This makes me like Roger even more! Shout out his experience and story
For real !
I been out of the loop from my own life struggles. I had no idea. Roger brother your not alone man. Just know that literally thousands of people love you.
much love
Super heavy topic. Amazing that Roger opened up like this! Hell yeah, future Rog.
Fuck yeah Rog! So cool that he was so open to having a vulnerable conversation. Something we don’t have enough in skateboarding.
Protect Roger at all cost!
Rog…. nothing but love and respect for you. So grateful for your vulnerability in this episode and I’m confident it’s going to help so many people get help. Glad you’re doing so much better. Appreciate your light! 💡🙌

Pretty dope that he was able to open up, and went for it without looking back. Stuff of legends.
Rog is a real one man... Thank you for opening up!
Having concern for humanity is top G moves.... #respect #skaters
