That trailer is looking great, it's all about capacity
I have found that on a smaller log like that, you can leave the measuring stick on and just cut through the wood all the way, eliminating the need to mark and then come back to complete cut. Doesn't work on big wood, but a good time saver on smaller diameter logs. Just figured I would share!
10/10 most adorable Videos
Color alone makes the perfect stick better! The oak looked like it was just fine. Thanks for sharing!! 👍🏻👍🏻🍺🍺
Thanks Scheib. Good, thoughtful comparison between the two. Cheers!
Dangit Scheib now I have to have a Perfect Stick lol. Take Care !!!
If they could redesign the back tailgate without that lip on it, it would be about the perfect firewood trailer. Another good video. Keep it up.
Good vid Scheib! New truck is bitchin’! Love it! Well deserved!👍🏻🇺🇸
It sounds crazy, but when you sell wood to people, the more uniform it looks the better it will sell. Good video Scheib.
I file the paint off my bar at 16 inches that way I don’t have to stop to put something on to measure. And don’t worry about losing it in the snow. One less thing to have to deal with.
Great load of wood. I agree, the more you use it the more you'll know how to load and dump it. Might have to order the measuring tool. The magnet on others have always been a problem, not strong enough. Have a Safe Day
Nice comparison! I will have to get me a perfect stick! Nice trailer too!
been using zip ties off the handle! will have to check one of those out! nice wood!
Gonna have to give the perfect stick a try. I do love my Mingo marker though
I agree with you on the perfect stick versus the Accu Mark, the biggest complaint I have is the color of the Accu mark and the fact that the offset ring rotates while cutting. I like how the perfect stick ring is centered that way you can always line up the stick with your previous cut. Nice little honey hole you found back there!
AWESOME SAW!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hello from Virginia ,Great video brother good marker 👍👍🇺🇸
Looks like a handy little trailer to have for picking up rounds, or even shorter logs. Might be something like that in my future. If for nothing else, something to split into then move over to the pile so I don't have to bend over so much...Great video! Happy Cutting!
Amazing videos
Looks like that works pretty good
Before you load it used WD far to spray your bed it works real well
Perfect stick looks slick. Agree little things like orange easy to find when your moving. Looks like it stays on better too.
Thanks for the video ordered the perfect stick !!! As for the trailer ill give it a 6 outta 10 looks like it could use some improvements
Thanks for the upload - appreciated
d
I ordered one of those perfect sticks.
I use cable ties on my saw. That way you don't have to go through the saw and mark it, just cut.
Same. I put them on my saw after seeing it from Chris ITWY. So simple
Much better than the paint marking roller. 👍🏻
Cool idea but it’s one more step, marking then going back cutting to length. I’m waiting for 2 firewood prosizers to arrive here because in theory it should be fast and efficient
I like your new video the moming you did a good jop on your wood this was nice wood you have is this your new truck i like your new truck love your video buddy 🍺🍺
Another fine video from the Scheib Machine! Your evaluation of the log markers was spot on. The Perfect Stick definitely has the upper hand. I've been tossing around ideas for my own design of a measuring device. I'm not trying to compete, I just like making stuff myself. By the way, I'm looking for new truck for my tree service. I'm wanting a 4WD, 3/4 to 1 ton, long bed with crew cab, preferably gas like the Ford 7.3L. I'm not stuck on Ford, but I do want power without having to go to diesel. Any lead would. be greatly appreciated! Good stuff, Scheib! Stay strong, stay kind!
New subscriber. Great videoes. 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏼👍🏼
You ask which one i saw first. What i saw first was the 6 inch and smaller material left laying on the ground as you hoisted the large rounds to load. Maybe I'm old school but my woodlot is beautifully uncluttered on the forest floor after nearly 3 decades of heating my home and selling the occasional load of hardwood saw logs simply because I am willing to do the unglamorous task of getting even the small wood to the woodstove. When mixed in with the larger all night chunks, they provide plentiful heat even on the coldest Adirondack days. Just a thought.
It would have been nice if that little trailer had a square box with straight sides to get more wood inside. You could also add would to the back of your Gator. I have to get me one of those Perfect Sticks. Great Video Scheib.

Nice Pickup Truck Scheib man, did not know you bought another one.👍🍺
Thanks 👍
I have and use a Perfect Stick also, great tool. I don’t like just throwing it off to the side after making my marks for fear that it’ll be stepped on, lost, left behind etc. How about a pair of Carhart work pants (or similar) with the hammer loop on one leg to drop the stick into?
Nice marker may have to get one this winter, would it be just as fast to unload by hand rather then dump and dig them out, nice trailer
Nicely done. I just bought some parts to make a stick. Might be better off just buying one.
these are well built and are not really expensive like the others on the market you can find links to purchase in the description.
@@OutsidewithScheib Thanks. Ordered one! Do you make/sell them?
@@MyClutteredGarage no I do not
On your Accu Mark, the screw that keeps the red ring on is too tight. It needs to be loose to allow the ring to swivel. Then, it would always be pointing down with gravity. I like the perfect stick and this method of marking.
Scheib I'm thinking a battery powered saw would be perfect for marking your logs with the Perfect Stick. Then just use your big saw for the bucking. Hey, something more to purchase!! Also that Ultratec is a beast! That is some serious weight and it wasn't even putting much of it on your hitch!
That's exactly how I do my marking. Mark with the battery saw and buck with the bigger saw.
Hey that's not a bad idea! Any chance we get to put down the heavy saw and pick up a lighter one for a bit is always good. I already have the Atlas tools so I might get the Atlas chainsaw. Otherwise I would consider the cutting machine known as the Hart!
I like it!
That's a good idea
Someone put a DIY video on CZcams using a magnet measuring tool. I built it and what a mistake. GOOD VIDEO.
Scheib, we have to Agree, The perfect stick has the right name, Sthil 💪
Nice pile of wood
Done painted my Acc u cut orange for that reason
Nice looking trailer, seems like it tows good to. How's the woodstove burning? Temps are getting cooler!
I'm going to use magnetic antenna w with foam ball or reflector from tractor supply bargain bin
Is that a Scheib mini cord ? Cart works great as well as the Perfect Stick. Cheers my friend
Have you used the pro sizer?
We all do it as a habit, you don’t need to burp your 500i. We did it with the older saws to keep them running. You 500 will scream whenever needed! I agree, stack trailer the other way for less trips. What is the cost of the trailer?
Yeah it’s a hard habit to Break that’s for sure. I believe the trailer is around $2500.
What size chainsaw are you using in this video
I believe you could make a better measuring device yourself, and cheaper. Plus Blaze Orange (or any orange) paint is very cheap too.
How has the magnet end held up? Is the magnet glued into the rod or is there a mechanical connection between rod and magnet? I just went through a $20 amazon aluminum tube style in 5 minutes because the magnet was glued into the rod with a rubber stopper. So cheap.
Those tools make it easier to measure your wood. I have a mingo marker
Has the adjustable perfect stick lose its adjustment, any slippage during use?
No I haven’t had it slip just make sure you have it good and tight
No ear protection?
Anything longer than 16" is giving wood away. Measuring is worth it..
Just make your own- come on people, a stinking magnet on pvc
Yeah that was a good chainsaw that's an awesome chainsaw you do good work buddy text me back
What make and model is your side x side? I'm looking into getting a similar one. Would you recommend that style?
This is an older John Deere gator with some kind of kit on it. If you’re just doing wood or hauling stuff in the yard I would recommend this but if you want to do trail riding and wood I’d look at something else.
How many years have you been selling firewood?
How did the magnets compare between the two.
They both seem pretty comparable
Punky firewood…I am always reluctant to sell it. Where do you draw the line?
I’ll spilt the punk off and sell the center stuff.
I got one but keeps falling off bar every couple secs
yeah it happens you'll get use to it and it will happen less
The perfect stick looks good but can a guy get one for 24 inch logs?
I’ll have to check on that for you

Perfect stick seems pretty cool but I don't understand why the disc on the end has to be so big, but I have never used one so maybe I will get one and see.
The Perfect Stick should be attached to the middle of the bar so it's away from the chain on both sides. Because of that, there is some distance between the log and the stick when you go to make your marks. The disc is big like that so you can still rest it on the log while you make your marks and keep the saw straight. If the disc was smaller, you'd have to tip the saw a bit. Also, check out the review by Back 40 Firewood. He talks about how the disc works.
I'm sorry I asked before I watched the whole video
