This is exactly what a "how to" should be! EXCELLENT ! After 6 months of waiting finally got an Q4 pipe...Can't wait to get started on this !!! THANKS GUYS!! Definitely will make the job easier !!!!
Thank you Ron, glad to hear my how to video will help for the install :). Congrats on finding the fmf pipe! I know those are super hard to find right now!
Thank you for an excellent demonstration and how to do this job. I watched several how to videos before I started, but yours was the best that I found. I chose to go with the Yoshimura slip on Exhaust and the Dyno Jet Power Commander 6 fuel controller. Your demonstration showed me that I could do this modification. Keep up the good work. Thanks
Thanks guys. I was actually trying to reinstall the whole thing back to stock (exhaust was way too loud) and this was easily the best video I'd watched on it. Between this video and the manual it was very easy. Thanks!
Great vid, especially the close ups. I managed to score a new FMF plus the megabomb off eBay. Did all these mods in about 3hrs, and it makes a great bike even better. Only pain was uncabling the exup. Left flapper stock
I have that same exhaust and a tuner on one of my WRs. I agree completely, smoother and more responsive power delivery, and louder. Additional power? Meh...maybe, but whatever, it has enough anyway for the dirt. The brap is great, but original stock quiet is nice also. Oh hey we went to Tahuya finally a few days ago and didn't really enjoy it for all the round rock and gravel everywhere (plus cranky from all the heat). Funny enough had a bike break there also---fuse blew and would not allow the starter to turn. Fortunately we didn't have to tow it back LOL. Much prefer Capitol Forest for dirt riding over SlickRock-huya.
Nice! Sometimes the FMF can be a little loud but I dig it. On my 08' I only had the FMF Q4 pipe and recently added the AIS delete and I notice my biked was more responsive. After riding Adam's I can tell a little bit of a difference with having the EJK. Might end up doing it later down the road... I keep hearing everyone talking about Capitol Forest. Will have to go there next and check it out as we are not a big fan of rocks as well. Have you been to Walker yet? That place is rocky as hell LOL
@@joelwallisadv yeah I have been to walker valley. It was rocky, but the rocks weren’t round and horrible like Tahuya! Some very difficult single track that was uncomfortable, and others simply beyond my abilities. I’m ready to go back to Capitol Forest, loved it so much, challenging without being a killer. I like getting out of first gear lol. Loved it almost as much as central Washington or Oregon stuff I have done. Big roads, great single track, mile after mile, nice views, beautiful forests.
I just bought a wr250x. Previous owner(s) already did all these mods to it. I was wondering what the block off plate was for by the exhaust port lol. They also did the mechanical cam chain tensioner mod and also added a speedohealer.
@@darylhill9400 Oh ya. I think its one of those bikes a wont sell for a very long time. Lightweight hooligan/wheelie bike thats reliable, easy and cheap to fix
Was there a gasket on the stock pipe?..I did not see one in the video. I am atempting to go back to stock. I am a bit concerned without the AIS I will have introduced backfire popping to the stock muffler> Of note, there was a treaded clip on the FMF when I took it apart. I would think that would be suppied as the FMF muffler did not have a threaded connection. your aftermarket muffler sounds not as loud as the one Im replacing. I would leave the one Im trying to replace if it sounded like yours.
Thank you so much for sharing! I am looking to buy the exhaust but can't find one. Where did you get yours? As well, do you have any suggestions about what to start with? EJK unit or FMF first?
I think the pandemic made them hard to find plus since the wr is no longer in production manufactures are not making them anymore is what I have heard. If you can find one I’d start with the fmf pipe, ais delete and the exxup all at the same time.
Great video! A question: What size was the replacement bolt you had to purchase from the hardware store? My fmf pipe arrives in 2 weeks so I'm getting prepared. Cheers!
I used an M8x20mm with a washer. Was just about touching the pipe. Ideal length would be a bit shorter, but maybe that's why FMF still provides a too short bolt (15mm?)
I’ve heard mixed reviews about the ejk. Is it still working good? I was thinking about going with altitude industries but they are really bad with customer service. The altitude industries programmer is the same as the fmf programer. Thanks for the upload.
I just installed exactly the same mods on my 2009. I'm finding when riding if u let go of the throttle and quickly get back on it the bike has a bad hesitation. Can I remedy this with my ejk controller? Any tips.? Thanks

The flapper mod isn't done properly. He blocked off the airflow created by removing the valve and taping down the door. It doesn't sound like he plugged it with the foam just for the video since he said he keeps the foam in there to keep out dirt...he'll succeed in keeping out air and choking it off, also.
I believe the part you are referring to opens the air box flap when you accelerate. This link below for removing it for the airbox flapper if you want to remove it czcams.com/video/ZZ3P6lTYiDo/video.html

Go with big gun
Take that foam and put it to your mouth and try to breathe through it. It isn’t going to flow any air.
What a nightmare, I should've spent the money and not got a bike that's basically unrideable unless you throw thousands at it!😢
What?! The WR is still an awesome bike even without these mods. They last for ever like a Toyota or Honda car.

With mods like that, you'll be going 30 instead of 25. Slow down speed racer!
