  • A rundown of my Kemper Player pedalboard.
    M-Vave Chocolate MIDI controller is used to get extra switches for Kemper control.
    (This is a cheap controller you can get at Wish and Temu). It is wireless/bluetooth but can also be used with USB-cable connected to Kemper Player.
    The M-vave Chocolate also has a jack female input for an analog switch or an expression pedal. I use this to connect a simple switch which can also be used to send MIDI commands. And since the controller is using bluetooth I can use it to turn pages on Forscore sheet music reader.
    All MIDI commands used is listed in the end of the video.
    Hope this will be helpful to some of you!

    ok I just got mine, ready to set up. I see you have the usb cable between the kemper and the m vave. Is this just for charging or does midi signal pass through the usb cable?

    Do you have the possibility to set the m-wave switches for the slots on the player? I need a solution to choose a slot directly, at least for Slot 1-4 (e.g. from Slot 1 directly to Slot 4) without going through slot 2 and 3.
    Thanks for sharing this Video!seems to be a good working solution which is cheap too

      @MusikOchProduktion  Před 5 měsíci +5

      Sure do! To send command to switch to a specific rig is a little weird: First you send a command CC47 with value bank number (CC47 2 for bank 2), then the Kemper idles and wait for second command which is the rig slot, CC50 1 for slot 1. CC51 1 for slot 2, CC52 1 for slot 3 etc.
      So if you want to load the rig in bank 3, slot 5 you send two commands:
      CC47 3
      CC54 1

      Thanks so far! The M-Wave just arrived and honestly I have no clue how to send commands, how to set them up, nor where to start. The M-Wave is connected with the player through the USB-c to USB-A cable and the Player is connected to the computer, on which I use the Rig Manager. Do you have any tips how to start? @@MusikOchProduktion

    Hi! I did the same thing, about Fake Morph and programmed as it has to be. The only problem is that if i press A wich is bank 1-1 on KPP, again A wich is 2-1 in KPP and after i press B for another preset like 1-2 with 2-2, if i wanna come back to 1-1 on A, it will be 2-1. The conclusion is that the switch A is not coming back as it was, like 1-1. What am i doin wrong?
    Any other PC or CC 😢messages?

    On the player can you setup that the effect button does like the same function for every rig? So say when you tap button 2, just a basic reverb comes on?

      Yes, you can set that switch button 2 for example turns on FX slot 4 etc. globally so to say.

    How did you connect&set the small switch to the mvave chocolate? Is it a TRS cable (stereo)?

    • @MusikOchProduktion
      @MusikOchProduktion  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes its supposed to be a TRS cable. But since only one switch button is programmable on M-vave I used a standard guitar patch cable (and removed the second switch I wasn't gonna use anyway)

    With a profiler player on It's way, I'm seriously considering getting a M Vave Chocolate as well to go with it. Did you found out the commands to send to the Kemper by trial and error, or are they mentioned somewhere in the Kempers manual? If I do pull the trigger I will probably use the four buttons to turn the 4 effect blocks on and of in the profiler. Thanks!

    • @MusikOchProduktion

      The basic commands are in the Player manual, I think some of them I found in the Kemper Profiler main manual that worked for the Player model too. Turn off the four FX slots are no problems 👍

    Did you somehow manage to utilise "E" and "F". They are not assignable in the app. My actual idea is to set A-D for Rig 1-4 and E and F for Bank Up / Down. But I cannot assign E and F

    • @MusikOchProduktion
      @MusikOchProduktion  Před 5 měsíci +1

      No I did not 🤔 There seem to be a bit of false advertising regarding that function. There is some sort of ”group”-function but not in the mode we’re using. Google the manual or ”Cubesuite group E” or something to check it out 🤷‍♂️😅

    • @MusikOchProduktion
      @MusikOchProduktion  Před 4 měsíci

    I bought a Kemper player and would like my DAW to control it via USB/Midi. Is it possible? I can do it at the Kemper stage. I already use it like this. But I can't do it in the player. Can you help me?

    • @MusikOchProduktion
      @MusikOchProduktion  Před 5 měsíci

      Absolutely, that should be just as easy as with the Stage. Just plug in USB cable from Player to the computer and it should be the same process as with the Stage. You don't need any MIDI-cables. The Player will show up as an interface in your DAW. /Stefan

      Yes, it appears, but I create the MIDI commands for the program changes and nothing happens :/

      @ Actually I haven't been successful with program changes either. But it should work to send CC-commands instead like the ones in my video. People want a Kemper player to have a small rig. But with all the additional stuff wich is needed, I'm better of with the Kemper stage that has all in one. Would have liked the player also, but too many limitations... it's not for me.

    • @MusikOchProduktion
