- Mola mola munch munch! Target feeding with our two young ocean sunfish is a piece of cake. Both beasties have learned to hit their Mola marks to dine on tong-delivered delicacies!
ven though ocean sunfish have a brain the size of a walnut, they can be trained to recognize a visual dinner-bell (a “target” in the biz) to come over and be fed by hand. The molas are fed a special blend of food inside a sausage casing, allowing us to study how fast these animals grow. Our daily tailgates with the molas prove that you can be bean-brained brainiac!

I think he's adorable....I love ocean sunfish. They're just these huge things that don't harm anything or anyone and just swim around and sun themselves...
Same!
Well not if you’re a jellyfish
They do eat jelly animals, so I guess they are scary to something :D but they are very goofy and cute
they're predators. they eat pretty much whatever they can catch which is a surprising amount of things including squid, crustaceans and other fish.
It'd be SO HARD to resist giving them a little pat on the head when they come up to eat!
It’s like watching someone hand feed a sock puppet lmao
Best quality? His wiggles
this is the most cutest thing i ever seen in my life
Also for us it's one of the most cutest moments we saw here on CZcams 😊. But we are not sure if it was the cutest for us ... a few months ago we met a little hand-raised orangutan and it's also really cute.

So cool!! 💙💙💙
I need to show this to my friend. She loves Molas.
I was watching this with my mom, and she said she would be terrified swimming next to that. Then I said, "C'mon, mom, it's not even that big. Well, it will be once it's fully grown."
She's beautiful
It's so cute

:v
My little blue beta fish knows when i tap lightly on the edge of his tank to come to a specific place to be fed and flares at me to show his impatience if i don't get the food in fast enough.
That's a well trained beta fish!
so cute. its mouth looks human's
He has human eyes 👀
I wonder how smart they are?
He should be free. Not spending his live in an aquarium. In Stralsund (Germany), the Mola Mola lived only for 6 month, then he died. Please bring this wonderful fish back to the ocean...
his name is Bradley. case closed.
oh is this a new one
Cute fish guys oh and the mola mola sunfish also lives in warn far away waters their enemies are seals seal lions and shark any kind of sharks and seals they might live in California or japan
In the wild they feast on gelatinous zooplankton- but does it eat actual jellies at the aquarium?
Hes to adorable i wanna touch him
Hi, I work with WPLG in Miami. We are doing a story about mola molas today and were wondering if we could use your video in our newscast. We would give credit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Please let us know, thanks!
Adorable!
these guys are obligate medusavores right?
Not entirely! Based on dietary research, molas also feed on bottom fish, shrimp and crabs besides their gelatinous prey!
is it still in the aquarium? because last time I checked the sunfish was not in the aquarium nor the hammerhead sharks.
please reply
Is it true that Sunfish have been known to kill them selves by throwing themselves out of the water trying to get rid of parasites?
Wow, the "Survive Mola mola" game did make it's way into pop culture huh? 😅 No, Mola don't die from jumping out of the water to clean parasites-they often jump out of the water to evade sea lions and other predators chasing them!
Don't be chicken--feed it with your bare hands ( 9 >__
