  • Banaue Philippines | Trekking the Incredible BATAD RICE TERRACES, TAPPIYA FALLS + Bangaan Rice Terraces
How to get to Batad Village?
From Banaue Town Proper, you may hire either a tricycle or a jeepney that will take you to Batad Saddle Point (end point). It may take approximately 1 hour to get to Batad Saddle Point. From there, you will trek around 20 minutes going to Batad Village. There will also be a registration/environmental fee of only 50 Pesos per person upon entering Batad Village.
By the way, a tour guide is required when trekking Batad Rice Terraces. Tour guide rate is somewhere between 1200 to 1500 (Batad Rice Terraces including Tappiya Falls)
TREKKING BATAD RICE TERRACES & TAPPIYA FALLS:
After the 20 minutes trek from Batad Saddle Point to Batad Village, we climbed to the highest view point. Took us around an hour to reach the highest view point since we we’re taking lots of photos and videos, but some travelers can reach the top in just 30 to 40 minutes. According to our guide, we we’re lucky it didn’t rain since it had been raining every afternoon the past days before our visit. It would have been a lot difficult if it did since the trail leading to the highest view point and down to the waterfalls involves very narrow and steep path. Anyway, after reaching the highest viewpoint, we trekked all the way to the very bottom of the mountains to witness the stunning beauty of Tappiya Falls. From the highest viewpoint, we reached Tappiya Falls in just 30 minutes. It was still a challenging hike going down but the very hard part is going back up. Took us around 2 hours and 30 minutes going back to Batad Saddlepoint from Tappiya Falls. It was absolutely a very challenging hiking experience but being able to witness and have a close look at the beautiful waterfalls and rice terraces is worth it.

Thanks Kuya for this video. In 1999 My friends from different South East Asia countries and I had unforgettable trip to Batad. Actually one of our friend, the indigeneous people of Batad who worked in Manila invited us to visit Batad.
The trip was so amazing, we were Walking for many kilometers before we arrived in Batad. Batad View is so beautiful and wonderful. We we're happily to soak our bodies in the clean fresh river around the water fall. Fresh air, very cold at night, and we tried to drink the local fermented rice 'wine' to make our body warmer. We had rice and dried salty fish . And we attended Sunday Service in a church there.

I was there and did that trek down to Batad, the lowest point. I wasn’t scared because I was young then in my early 20s. I could go there again and try…lol but the scary part on your video was the stone pathways was not secured for safety. I heard you say it was moving. It is scary and dangerous. It has to be reported to the authorities to fix it. Otherwise, fatal accident may happen. Why wait for that to happen. They have to be proactive to boost tourism in that particular area. Anyways, you did a very good job showing through your video the amazing Batad Rice Terraces of the Philippines. More Power to you and be safe. Thank you for this excellent video.

I didn't realize the road ended and the rest of the journey is by foot. People don't often think about it, but that means every item including all the materials to build each building was walked 20 minutes to the village. Very cool stuff to learn, many thanks for sharing another incredible video my friend 👍

Banaue needs to build a zip line for those who like to view below… maybe increase tourist fee to put more guard rails since it’s very narrow along the way to the main to the viewing deck, for safety when it rain.

Not as famous like Batad & Banaue but actually the one in Maligcong Bontoc, Mt.Province is as beautiful & amazing like this one👌I believe it is even much bigger & personally I would say that it is even more amazing because the village/houses are separate & so all you can view & see is mainly the amazing structure of the whole rice terraces. It only needs & deserves more promotion.

Great tour vlog again. I'm 67 year old, no way I could walk through this tour. I have bad knees because of all the jogging/running I did to stay in shape for the Police Department, but what a wonderful beautiful tour I enjoyed through your camera. NO WAY I COULD DO IT MYSELF !!! I am also very impressed by your English. Are you from the US, or lived there. You speak and write English very well. I am a filipino, born and grew up in Hawaii. God Bless you my kapatid (brother) !!! Your vlogs are the best of the best !!!

The tourism sector should make a designated path to a viewing deck for easier access??? It’s very confusing when walking because it branches to many pathways… if you don’t know your way around…

my man your putting your own life in danger that situations of the trail is dangerous no safety road ,no railings, not even a first aide people around, hope the officials of that village will do something for the concern of the tourist and their communities. and why they letting the tourist go there in a dangerous situations. mr phil why can be you work as a goodwill ambassador to the country (philippines talk to the Tourism secretary and show your clippings about that blogg in Btad rice terraces so they will do something it may help your video and you help also the people and the tourism industry .some bloggers used the tourist spot of the Philippines to shoot food bloggers, beaches, surely they earnings money in return but none of them is apppreciating that the country is given back to them. When i am watching your video im getting goosebumps people is putting there life in danger falling down to the cliffs.with that narrow steeps stair accident is waiting to happens.

That place is not for everyon,NOT for the faint hearted. It is for outdoor adventurers.if you have fear of heights, a city dweller who prefer safe bubble, then that is not for you.
If you put several extra safety measures then the essence of traveling to that place is not there anymore.
