oh man, I like how you worded that fear of "subjecting myself to processes I haven't experienced before". renewing my license, getting my first oil change, any 'normal' human process I haven't taken on myself has been so overwhelming. I get so worried the person helping me will think I'm a hapless idiot for not knowing how every step works, or even how to greet them to ask for what I want.
I totally understand that! And it's the worst when someone actually does act like you're the stupidest person in the world for not knowing how these rare and totally not habitual processes work (something I fear and have on occasion experienced whenever I have to go to the DMV lol). I try to just always go into it with a positive attitude and if the person responds negatively I try to remember that their response says more about them than me.

Fun vlog! Always love vlogs cause it feels a little more like a catchup with someone kind of thing than stories and reels/shorts. So also book rec: These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant. It’s interesting because it doesn’t really present itself as a mystery but ends up as one with a bit of a twist. I don’t read a ton, but is one of my fave pickups from last year that was a stand alone.

Does your area have the free little libraries where you bring a book you own and exchange it for one inside? I love them around north CO, there are always hyped up titles in them!
There are some randomly around the city - they look like birdhouses but they have books inside haha. There's none in my neighborhood though (at least that I know of) which is a bummer 😕
