    Im with you. I have wasted so much money on veto bags. Only difference is i do apartment maintenance and am 30 different apartments a day and a 100pound bag is the bane of my exstitence. Really think about what you will use the bag for. Good advice thanks for the video

    Thanks for the review of the Veto. I'm a low volt guy; IT cabling and server rooms. I did glean lots of good info. Like you I have short duration than 2 hour service calls and don't need to lug 40lbs of tools around. I use lots of meter size devices. Because of your review I narrowed down in my trade what I use the most. Thus getting the correct size and use out a bag.

    I do maintenance for apartments and now at a hospital. I also spent too much on veto and sold most of them. I was a idiot and thought I could put all my tools in one bag(plumbing, electrical, hvac and low voltage). I finally realized that I needed 2 bags one for plumbing and one for the rest. Plumbing tools are heavy, large and dirty. I decided to show my plumbing tools respect and put them in that same exact veto bag it is the best. Even doing small plumbing jobs call for a lot of specialty tools

    Agree. I am not a plumber but I build ponds, so I do kind of pool style plumbing. Though I have no Veto in my country, still a tote with similar configuration was the final pick. Putty that I had to spend so much on different types and sizes to realise what really works for me

    I do hvac but my company has a plumbing division. I often help them out a lot if they need a hand or get swamped. I learned very quickly to build a 5 gallon bucket with a husky bucket flap bag for my own plumbing tools. Not to mention that after helping with plumbing and some the “crappy” jobs everything needs to be cleaned up including the bucket. Last thing I want is bacteria growing in the fabric of my veto.

    You always see young plumbers with a fuckload of tools, fancy tool bags, million different random things. Meanwhile some crusty ass j man or master thats been doing the shit for 30 years carrying a couple pairs of dull ass 440s, a 5 gallon bucket, and the same old ass supply house brand hammer and 6 in 1 hes had for 20 years is plumbing circles around them. I work for an appliance repair company, I've always used a backpack and there's no way I would change that. It's impossible to carry a tool bag, entry rug, rubber tool mat, and customer parts that won't fit in your pocket in one trip without a backpack. Not happening. I would rather carry an 80 lb bag than have to lose a hand to carry a toolbag or use a single shoulder strap and have it sliding off all the time. Making more than one trip into the house when you have to wear shoe covers and all that is crazy. It happens once in a while that I need something from the truck I didn't bring in, but I want that to an absolute minimum.

    That pro pac bag would it fit a 14 inch aluminum pipe wrench rigid
    I've been in a trade for about 16 years now and I can totally attest to what you're saying you need something that can hold big odd shap tools I'm one of those plumbers that just sticks with a bucket but I want to get a little bit more organized now and I was looking at the VTech bags and I couldn't see myself buying one until I ran across this video and seen the pro pac bag that you have. Try a tough built tote. Quite good for plumbing. But for carrying a gas lamp and a bunch of soldering bits including couplers you need another basic open tote and a few seethrough pencil cases.
    These veto things are great for electricians who need to go on a subway or cant park near, london city where you are going in on foot and want to hide the goods from pick pockets etc. or pooping round to 'have a look' at a fault issue . you know that u are kitted out for all kinds of trouble you may encounter

    Don’t see 1 fitting in your new bag ?

    • @GrumpyoldPlumber
      @GrumpyoldPlumber  Před 3 lety

      I work on more kinds of piping systems and I can list, the fittings stay in the truck, the other materials stay in the truck. When I need those fittings and those materials for a service call. I go to my truck grab my tool bag, and put the necessary materials in the sides of the bag, whatever else I might need, I throw in a 5 gallon bucket. Sometimes I even grab tools that I would not keep in my every day tool bag, and I carry them in the job in the bag.

    I use a Tech XL don’t like the OT LC you can’t fit bugger all in it. Also use tech MC converted as a soldiering bag, used a Fatmax for years and yes you can throw anything in but you also end up pulling everything out to find the tool at the bottom! Thanks to Rodger that doesn’t happen anymore

    • @GrumpyoldPlumber
      @GrumpyoldPlumber  Před 3 lety

      I can definitely see the practicality of the tech xl. I loved it when I was doing remodels, being able to quickly grab a tool and put it back neatly. It’s just to many tools for service work. And there’s no where to put materials.
