      @@tom2207He went and filmed at Colmar or Strasbourg, in the Region of Alsace et la Lorraine.
      In the Western side of France, across the border of the Franco German border 🇫🇷🇩🇪
      Even though, it’s currently now our french territority, it displays a Germanic Architecture.
      Local people, especially elders don’t much like the Deutsch. Can’t blame after what happened in WW2

      As French. You guess it right. It’s right across the Franco German border. 🇫🇷🇩🇪
      The Enchanted town is called Colmar or Strasbourg in the region Alsace et la Lorraine.
      An Historical place where WW1 and WW2 took place.
      Cuurently a French Territory. Used to be to Germans countless times
      Despite that, the Architecture there remains Deutsch

      I use two different lenses, a Sony 24mm F1.4 GM Full Frame and a Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 G Lens. For this walk, I was planning to use the 16-35mm lens, but I tripped and fell and broke the lens that morning. I've never tripped and fallen in the 7 years of filming..but when I did, the lens caught my fall. :) Luckily, I had the 24mm back at the hotel so I went back and got that one. I'm still trying to figure out if I can get the 16-35mm repaired or not.

      I don't think so. :) My suitcase is always packed tight and heavy. ....maybe you can come and carry some of the weight. My bag was 57lbs and it was a pain to lug around everywhere with me. ..in fact...I have problems with both my shoulders...and after carrying my suitcase around..and sleeping on a hard bed, I could barely carry my camera on the Cologne walk. I didn't think I'd be able to finish.

    • @teleguy5699
      @teleguy5699 Před 6 měsíci +4

      No it is in France (check Google maps). Plus, read the French writing on the buildings. I've spent many days in Germany and they don't have French words in their dialect or building signs. With so many invasions back and forth, this region and the Alsace region has a huge German influence.

    • @edb3255
      @edb3255 Před 6 měsíci +5

      The architecture seen here is traditional to Alsace. You can find very similar architecture in Germany, but this is what a lot of Alsace looks like. Plus, regional architecture varies a lot from one corner of France to the other--immensely. There are places in Brittany (northwest) that look nothing like Alsace (northeast), which look nothing like Provence and the Riviera (southeast), which look nothing like the Basque Country (southwest), which look nothing like French Flanders (northernmost corner) and there are many towns and hamlets in Savoy (French Alps) that look like they could be in Switzerland. Basically, small towns in France that are near a border with another country (Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Spain) often look more like the neighboring country than anything else in France, and some small towns along the English Channel can almost look like place in England or even Scotland (Brittany with their dark granite stone houses and buildings and dark slate roofs).

    • @codboss7092
      @codboss7092 Před 6 měsíci

      @edb3255 im aware of that but for example burgundy still looks an awful lot more similar to normandy architecture or even to toulouse even if there are differences. In other words france is a culturally diverse country but french architecture is still french architecture
      But aslace and loraine is like full on german aesthetic

    • @edb3255
      @edb3255 Před 6 měsíci +2

      @@codboss7092 True, French architecture is still French architecture. That's why the architecture of Riquewihr in Alsace (this video) is French architecture, not German :) Just curious, what elements of Toulouse's regional architecture look like Burgundy to you? I know both involve doors, windows, roofs, and facades, but other than the obvious elements, how do they look similar? Because Toulouse-Albi-Montauban area of southwestern France have a very distinctive regional look. Also, only some parts of Lorraine that touch Alsace have a mild resemblance to each other. You lose in most of Lorraine the colorful half-timbered facades and very high-pitched roofs covered in clay beavertail tiles that gives much of Alsace its look.
