  • 3,142 miles (5,056 km) in under 90 minutes, from Washington to Washington! This is a 32x speed of my now popular road trip from May 3-6, 2018. Since I speeded up this road trip by 8x faster than what my 11-hour, time-lapse version was uploaded at, I increased the frame rate to 60 fps. I also reduced the subtitles to only what town/city I was passing through at the moment, and I added some music to this video. The other graphics are shown as with my previous videos, with the addition of the distance display. Since the distance display only shows the distance since the last stop in the video, I added text just below it stating the total distance of the trip done up to the last stop.
The complete video in 4x time-lapse:
    • Washington, DC to Seat...
    Real-time video links:
Day 1: • Washington, DC to Wild...
Day 2: • Wildwood, MO to Aurora...
Day 3: • Aurora, CO to Caldwell...
Day 4: • Caldwell, ID to SeaTac...

Kansas and Colorado are so flat, but at the same time, it's just a hill that you're slowly climbing when traveling to the west until you get to the mountains in Colorado. Then it's a slide when you're traveling east.

Would you ever consider driving from Seattle to Montauk, NY? According to Google Maps, the drive would take about 45 hours at the most and nearly 3000 miles from one to the other. You'd probably pass through a large variety of scenery and the entirety of Long Island, while also passing through cities such as Minneapolis and Chicago. I'm saying this because I'm from Long Island and it would be very interesting to see.

Here's an idea: Seattle to Miami (Northwest to Southeast Road Trip) This is a 3,297 mile route that would take 48 hours of non-stop driving. Assuming you drive at 8 hours a day, it would be more like a 6 day trip instead. Here's the trip in a brief summary: As previously mentioned, you start out in Seattle and start driving East. You have to drive across almost all of Washington, before briefly passing through Idaho. Next, you're going to have to pass through all of Montana. You'll just barely pass through a part of Wyoming, and pass all of South Dakota. You'll briefly be in Nebraska, and then Iowa. Afterwards, you'll be in Missouri, narrowly avoiding Kansas. Then, you have to travel through all of Missouri, pop up in Illinois for a while, and pass through Kentucky. You then have to travel through Tennessee, and into Georgia. At this point, you will very narrowly avoid Alabama. After leaving Georgia, you'll finally be in Florida and travel practically all of the state until you hit Miami.
Here are a few cities you will drive through/pass.
    Washington: Seattle, Spokane
    Idaho: Post Falls
    Montana: Missoula, Billings
    Wyoming: Colony
South Dakota: Rapid City, Sioux Falls
    Iowa: Sioux City
    Nebraska: Omaha
    Missouri: Kansas City, St. Louis
    Illinois: Mt. Vernon
    Kentucky: Paducah
    Tennessee: Nashville, Chattanooga
    Georgia: Atlanta
    Florida: Gainesville, Orlando, Miami
Using average summer temperatures by state, the highest temperature would likely be in Florida. The lowest temperature would probably be in Wyoming. This is seen from these average summer temperatures of the following states in Fahrenheit:
    Washington: 63.8 degrees
    Idaho: 63.7 degrees
    Montana: 64.2 degrees
    Wyoming: 63.5 degrees
    South Dakota: 69.9 degrees
    Iowa: 71.6 degrees
    Nebraska: 71.8 degrees
    Missouri: 75.4 degrees
    Illinois: 73.4 degrees
    Kentucky: 74.5 degrees
    Tennessee: 75.6 degrees
    Georgia: 78.7 degrees
    Florida: 81.0 degrees
The highest elevation would probably be in Wyoming, with the lowest elevation possibly being in Florida, seen by average elevation by state (in feet and meters.)
    Washington: 1,700 feet (520 meters)
    Idaho: 5,000 feet (1,520 meters)
    Montana: 3,400 feet (1,040 meters)
    Wyoming: 6,700 feet (2,040 meters)
South Dakota: 2,200 feet (670 meters)
    Iowa: 1,100 feet (340 meters)
    Nebraska: 2,600 feet (790 meters)
    Missouri: 800 feet (240 meters)
    Illinois: 600 feet (180 meters)
    Kentucky: 750 feet (230 meters)
    Tennessee: 900 feet (270 meters)
    Georgia: 600 feet (180 meters)
    Florida: 100 feet (30 meters)
That's it for the overview of the Northwest to Southeast Road Trip.
