one can validate a persons feelings and understand how one could have such feelings without actually thinking they are good, or een bad. Its called looking at it from others perspectives doesnt mean you cant also see it from her perspective and ultimately think he was out of line.
Like, according to him, he made calls and has been trying to contact her for some time now.
I dont think that excuses running at first, but it does mean he was trying and she wouldnt even answer and say what she planned or even to say hey please stop or etc.. not that she truly should be expected (esp if he was toxic abusive when together!) But you can UNDERSTAND these things without agreeing.
I think hes nuts but I think he probably wouldnt be "nuts" if there was a healthy communicated plan from , say, her parents or soemone else to avoid making it harder on her.
Then that way he could properly deal with the feelings without it being condensed to a few short hours presumably before its too late.
But, also, if he truly was stable and wanted to be dad to his son, that would be his opportunity to put money where mouth is on his job and place etc etc..

It’s stuff like this that kind of make it clear to me that if a woman feels that she cant take care of a child for whatever reason and decides to abort or adopt, there’s usually a good reason. Sometimes it’s a life or death thing. Whether she/her partner is not ready or if her partner is dangerous to the child or the woman, it’s ultimately her choice to make since she’s the one who will have the most responsibility taking care of it and will be taking the most risk.
Pregnancy is one the most dangerous time for a woman because a guy can act like the perfect partner but do a 180 once he feels she’s locked down or he can seriously resent a woman for “daring to get knocked up” and “ruining his future” and take his anger out on her, etc.

    • @FishAnvil

And inversely, the mother can 180 on the day of the birth and simply decide that since she isn't ready to be a mother then the baby daddy doesn't deserve to be a father. I've been through this. We adopted my nephew without the biological father's consent. Went to court, we won. Stable home, good job, already had one child at home. His family looked at the baby as a possession, legal property. They are not legal property, they are living breathing human beings who need stability. A safe space to explore the world from and return to if things get dangerous.

Not to diminish your situation, but the way I read your post gave me chills.
You can read this as "We are richer and therefor better suited to raise a child, so it's ok to take it away from the parents and give it to us."

    • @bobastu
      @bobastu Před 11 měsíci +13

@Glaswalker1001 that's not what happened. My wife's sister was living with us. She had one child, just turned 12 months and had just given birth to another child. The same biological father. His family kicked her out to the streets. We arranged for her, at her request, to come live with us three states away while she was still pregnant with the second child. Before she gave birth, she decided to give the second child up for adoption.
We were helping with school, to graduate high school. She was an abusive mother, hateful almost and she and my wife would get into fights about it. One day, she broke down, and admitted it's too hard and she just can't do it anymore. She wants a better life for her child. She asked us if we would adopt her son, as we had been trying to have a baby. We discussed it and sat down with her. We agreed. We secured an attorney and started the process. The biological father had not reached out once in two years to see if she was OK. But it got back to him that she was putting the child up for adoption and he turned up on our doorstep. We had already been to court once and we were the temporary legal guardians of the child. He, and his family, expected to come in and take the child like a piece of property. They called our local police and they showed them a birth certificate and we showed him a court order. The court order trumps the birth certificate because the birth mother was in agreement. Now the legal battle began.
The courts find him unfit due to an admitted drug abuse issue, no stable job, and no stable residence. It took us a year in court to get to that point. We were also held responsible for their legal fees, by the court, and all court costs. In the end, it cost us over $15,000 to adopt our nephew. But you can't put a price on a child's safety and well-being!! The child was also diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and ADHD, as well as a sensory disorder. The mother was doing drugs while he was in utero and the father was doing drugs during conception. Our son is now 13. He is doing well and has a handle on his disabilities. Don't hate us because the courts decided we were a better option than a child placed into an unstable, and potentially dangerous environment.

@MekiahClark no. He has zero rights. The judge stripped them after he had no contact for greater than 24 months. Biology does not dictate family or love. The bio father's grandmother believed that children. Are the property of their family, not living breathing individuals who need a safe environment from which to successfully explore their world. My son was with them for the first 12 months, and due to that time with them, he came to us with Reactive Attachment Disorder.

Even if he tried calling a few days or weeks before, he was still absent the entire pregnancy. He undoubtedly caused her emotional and mental trauma, and he had left the picture anyways so he has no right or say in whether the baby is put up for adoption or not.

David didn’t really care about Lilly or his son. Even at the beginning he was blaming Lilly for “not answering his calls”and claiming he had just lost his job & was scared. I have a cousin who became a teen dad in his junior year of high school, he was terrified and definitely wasn’t ready, but he was determined not to be a deadbeat like his dad had been.He got a decent job to provide for his daughter & her mom with help from both sets of parents my cousin isn’t with her anymore, but she sings his praises compared to her 2nd baby daddy, my cousin is actively involved in his daughter’s life.

  • @theauditminionexplores5508

The original intended mother for the child backs out of the adoption obviously because the father of said child held a gun to her head. So well yes the pregnant child gives birth and puts the baby up for adoption it's going into the foster care system not just being adopted to somebody, and the foster care system in the US is full of predators and people who literally have zero interest in the job. But being someone who was shuffled around that system for neuron 15 years I probably have a poor opinion of it, the same as 90% of the other kids who are treated as so much garbage by the government if you're over the age of 10 no one wants you you're just a burden so hopefully that baby gets adopted hopefully they don't go through the same s*** most do in the foster care system. But being that this is TV it doesn't really matter cuz there was no baby there was no pregnancy it's fake.

The show leaves it open ended, I think. Lily asks to hold her baby, calling it "mine". She could still give it up, but with how hormones work and her calling the baby, "mine", means there's a good chance she might decide to keep it.
